Vienna: The City of Ethereal Horses~

Vienna is full of gorgeous horses, in the flesh and depicted in stunning classical statues all over the city.

There are the famous Lipizzaner stallions housed in the equally famous Spanish Riding School.

And there are beautiful carriage horses working all over the magical city.

The Lipizzaner stallions are one of the oldest breeds in Europe.

I viewed them several times not performing but during their morning exercise.

I prefer seeing horses more naturally.

The stallions are brought to Vienna when they are four year olds and are then trained in classical dressage.

There are only 3,000 Lipizzaner’s registered worldwide.

Vienna is an incredibly beautiful city and horse lovers will find much to admire in addition to the incomparable art, architecture, history, music and culture. And please don’t forget the Viennese pastry! I certainly cannot. I would like to be beamed there right now for some delectable pastry mit schlag (with whipping cream), thank you very much!

(Some of you may be able to prompt your senior cerebellums to recall the Polaroid Swinger jingle? This was my first camera and I still have one shot to prove it. I was about 8 or 9…. The rest of you will have to google this archaic artifact of photographic lore…. See if you can find the jingle. It was awesome…..)

Anyhoo, multi-tasking in Rome. This woman can talk on the phone, open her car door, put her mom in the back seat, talk to me in Italian about her car, and drive off, ALL AT ONCE!
Wow!
I consider myself quite the multi-tasker. But this woman has clearly put me to shame.
And why, for heaven’s sakes, did wordpress print this in red?

Have you ever driven in Rome? I would require medication, even without the multi-tasking.
But, when in Rome…

And finally, does wordpress ever unlike your likes? It does this to me sometimes and it is quite frustrating. I set aside time to read your posts and if I like the post, I indicate it. I go back later and see sometimes that my likes have not recorded. Quite concerning because I want you to know when I like your posts. Has this happened to you?
I guess I have to talk to one of those “Happiness Engineers” at wordpress…..

Street Walking Vienna!

Vienna is a great city for street walkers!

There is street beach volleyball. Yup. “Called Sand in the city.”

My new wheels. Charged it. Hope Jim won’t mind……

They even named a street after Paris Hilton!

Statues get in the way of traffic signs.

and birds……..

And then there is of course the truth. Vienna streets are incredibly beautiful and full of art wherever you look.
