The islands are like a fantastic jungle garden of Eden.
Check out the trees,
and grottos!
The islands are volcanic and verdant.

Definitely worth croaking about!
It is especially nice visiting paradise when people are happy to see you!
There are vibrant towns with arts & culture just waiting for you to explore~
These historic islands are part of Portugal and have old European charm.
Cheers to you from the amazing Azores~
(Please excuse my being out of touch. Wifi is still hard to come by.)

  1. The bird is sooo cute. He looks like he is made up of different parts from various birds all put together. Is the dinosaur on the building and the “Not Sure You Understood It” meant to imply we don’t get we’re causing our own extinction? Hope you’re having a fabulous time.

      1. I’m sure he will be quite elegant when he is all grown up. For now he is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. Especially for a birdie.

    1. I think he is a baby, not fully fledged. I don’t have enough access to wifi to be sure though. He has a blue tummy, yellow bottom, and gray back. Do you know what he is?

  2. Oh I just adore the bird. What a fluffy underbelly! <3 And the serpentine tree roots are awe-inspiring. I'll be the sounds of nature out there are just as beautiful as the sight. The buildings, especially in the last photo, have a real beauty to them as well. I like how they seem to stretch from this perspective! Have a great time Cindy! <3 ~Lynn

    1. Yes, I love all the same things you do Lynn! I didn’t want to overload with photos but the islands are pristine, clean, with pretty little towns, amazing flora & fauna and the ocean at your doorstep. Paradise!

  3. Sweet little bird. πŸ™‚ The trees are so fascinating, especially the second photo. Thank you for the beautiful tour, Cindy! πŸ™‚ Happy travel. <3

    1. I really didn’t post enough of my photos to do the islands justice. There are thermal pools, lakes, volcanos, and beautiful clean, small towns, and nine islands!

  4. The amazing Azores indeed, this place looks almost surreal and as you say a good look at what the Garden of Eden may be appeared ~ wonderful photos and great to see you are enjoying your trip. Safe travels.

  5. Oh my, that frog seems to have unusually long hind legs – or is it just me πŸ™‚ Well they’re surely to give it a gunge advantage in hopping about

  6. Wow……. these are truly astonishing and amazing. I will probably share some of them in our June newsletter. Thanks so much for traveling so we can see scenes like these.

        1. How lovely of you! The Azores are so remarkable and definitely worth conserving which Portugal seems to be doing a good job with. Thank you very much & cheers to you~

  7. Β‘Que maravilla de flora y fauna! Las Azores tienen una situaciΓ³n privilegiada con un buen clima y, ademΓ‘s, conservan todo el sabor colonial. Siga disfrutando de este viaje tan interesante πŸ™‚

  9. You, by now, just be well past the Azores. The little bird is too cute to be real. Was this an adult or a nestling? Loved the old Spanish architecture, Cuz….., enjoy the journey ! πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, I am guessing he was not fully fledged. He was adorable and pretty darn tame. We have left the Azores and are in the North Atlantic, due to reach Ireland tomorrow! I will greet her for you cuz~

  10. The little “Eden bird” is too cute! Fantastic capture! And the nature truly looks like jungle paradise. Thanks for this rare share πŸ™‚

  11. I am very glad that You visited Azores and presented so gorgeous photos. We visited there about ten years ago and this year Madeira, so the comparison between these two places was interesting.

    1. So happy you had a chance to visit both! We have also and both are truly lovely, but I am head over heels with the Azores. Cheers to you & thank you too~
