Are underrated. (Click and enlarge to see the tiny details).

Like this Holler bathing birdie,

a California Towhee, who isn’t much impressed with the paparazzi, smart birdie!

This yellow house finch has a deformed beak and foot, but is doing well on Holler handouts.

Male yellow house finches are less successful with the ladies than their ruby colored cousins, but I think the ladies lack vision.

Mocking Birds may be common,

but they are oh so smart, and very handsome.

House finches are everywhere,

but are really quite adorable!
Cheers to you from The Holler common folk~

Many beautiful colors and tails on those birds.
So pleased you enjoyed them! They are having their morning bath right now as I type.
They’re lovely little avian friends. I love the contrast of colors with them in the bowl. So cute.
The most humble creatures have their own beauty. It’ up to us to see it. So glad you do my friend 💛
Love your blue and white bird food bowl. It is evident you love your wildlife❤️
Only the best for the birdies! Happy Friday Nadia 💛

Cindy Knoke brings us more birds from The Holler.
You are a lovely friend. Happy Easter Patricia 💛
You don’t have to trek to distant lands to see beautiful wildlife!
Exactly! They are in your own backyard.
A beautiful selection of birds.
So pleased you enjoyed & thank you!
You have a veritable bird paradise around your house. I can see how your feathery friends enjoy dropping in for a free lunch, Cindy! Nice shots!
Free lunch, free spa, no rent housing. It’s good to be a bird!
These bird photographs are really amazing.
Awwww, thank you & Happy Friday!
Thank you for sharing with us your many feathered friends. They are all fine.
You are most welcome and they are indeed our fine feathered friends 💛
Absolutely wonderful photos and words 💜💜
Merci beaucoup mon ami! 💛
I love all of them!!
I love the people who love the birdies 💛
So cute! And you captured them beautifully!
Very happy you enjoyed them & thank you!
Topp Bilder, KLasse, auch für dich ein schönes Osterfest, Klaus
Vielen dank mein lieber Freund und Frohe Osterfest 💛
These are very pretty birds. Thank you for sharing, Cindy. 🙂
Thank you dear Ranu & have a wonderful weekend 💛
Such lovely, bright-eyed, inquisitive looking birds, Cindy. Hugs on the wing!
Aren’t they sweet! And they people watch as much as I birdwatch 💛
Excellent gathering of the aviaries … and you captured them well by bringing their simple nature to life.
Thanks my friend. They are great fun to photograph and they love to pose!!!
Love them! Thank you so much for this inspiring photos and I wish you a happy Easter Time. <3
Happy Easter Vera & thank you for the kind words 💛
Wonderful! Happy Easter Cindy.
Happy Easter to you my friend 🐰
These are so crisp and clear! Great pictures!
I am honored. Thank you & cheers too 🐰
So Cute!!! Wonderful shots!!!
So kind of you and much appreciated too! 🐰
All magnificent. Personally, I can’t stop photographing the little sparrows – common, maybe, but precious all the same.
Exactly! 🐰
Thank you very much, dear Cindy, for your lovely post about yellow house finch. Have a happy Easter holiday. Best regards Martina
Happy Easter Martina & thank you for such a lovely comment! 🐰
I know exactly what you mean with this Cindy – it is all too easy when birdwatching to think ‘oh it’s only a robin, a chaffinch etc etc’. All creatures (including humans!) are magical and wonderful. It does us good to celebrate those who travel under the radar. Cheers to you & wishing you a great weekend 🙂
Exactly my thoughts about all creatures, including humans. After all think of everyday human heroes, and compare them to the people who get the most coverage in the news. I know who I would rather be around! 🐰
You have a nice array of birds in your neighbourhood Cindy. Happy Easter.
Leslie
Happy Easter Leslie & thanks for stopping by 🐰
🙂
Great pix, Cindy. You seem to have lots of bird visitors! I didn’t know there was a yellow house finch variation.
Our region has more bird species than anywhere else in the continental US. It makes for good species identification practice! 🐰
Lovely photos you take! ❤️
Thank you so much & happy weekend to you!
Those red finches are killer gorgeous. Luv all the birds! Happy Easter weekend, Cindy!
Happy Easter Resa & hugs my friend 🐰
Your photos are always so beautiful. It’s a treat to see your blog posts each time.
Awww, that is so kind and makes my <3 smile. Thank you & cheers too!
Wonderful photos, Cindy. I love your birds. We have bossy stellar jays who kick everyone else out of the bird feeders and baths. 🙂 And bossy little hummingbirds who rule the roost!
Ditto with the hummers but our jays are very shy. They won’t even aggress over a bowl of peanuts!
We can’t all be extraordinary, Cindy, but we can try. I wouldn’t mind a bit of plumage like that. 🙂 🙂 Happy Easter to you!
Even the most common creature is extraordinary in their unique ways. Happy Easter Jo 🐰
Common folk are my kind of critters. So much beauty is overlooked when seeking the crème de la crème. Your gorgeous photography honors these lovely creatures, Cindy ❤
Yep. You are a person after my own <3 Tina. Often we pay too much attention to the flash and not the substance.
Birds of a feather, Cindy ❤️

Lets celebrate the common folk together Cindy! UP close, they are far from ordinary 💛
My thoughts exactly! Thank you Val & hugs to you 🐰
I love them all. 🙂 I hope the birdie with the problem beak and foot continues to do well.
If it is an injury he should be fine, but if it avian pox which it may be, his prognosis is more guarded. Thank you for caring Lynette <3
Magnificent imagery!
We often fail to see the great who walk amongst us…
We do, we are too dumbfounded (and I mean this literally) by people like the Kardashians…. Thank you by the way. I really appreciate your thoughtful comments.
How beautiful…each and every one. I hope the sweet bird with the deformed beak and foot is able to be happy and have a wonderful life.
Awww, I have sweet friends who care about suffering creatures. Hugs to you 🐰🐰
Magnificent imagery!
We often fail to see the great who walk amongst us…
Thank you Russel and I think so. We are too busy heaping our attention on vacuous celebrities.
Have you ever noticed that common folk are really extraordinary. Spectacular photos – as always, my dear friend.
Oh yes indeed I have noticed this. The strength of character that flows in those who don’t seek attention or glory. I have seen so, so many examples of this from my long career as a psychotherapist. The true heroes are usually unsung. Thank you for knowing this Rebecca , of course you would, this is who you are <3
Cindy, those shots of birds in the blue and white bowl are terrific! — amazing color contrasts.
See you —
Neil S.
Thank you for noticing! I am working on the blue jays in the blue bowls now, but they are not super cooperative models.
I’m common folk so I’m all in here. I didn’t realize there were birds with deformities that need help. They are all beautiful birds and so kind of you to provide the free rent, space and food. Love those baths. 🙂
All people are common, after all there are over 7 billion of us, so we are not exactly a rare or exotic species. Success, money and fame, don’t make someone uncommon, just overcompensated. You are more of a hero because you face adversity and thrive with your artistic soul intact. <3
Thank you, Cindy. That’s very kind.
It is the truth and you are welcome.
Wanting to hold & pamper them all!! Sigh…. they won’t let me, which leaves all the pampering for Murph – but I am thankful for that!
Murph is one lucky little lizard and it is so cool what you are doing with reptile awareness.
Thanks Cindy! That means a lot to me – long distance hug 🙂
<3
Beautiful photos Cindy. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you more for taking the time to make such a thoughtful comment.
Lovely post Cindy. I love birds. And I love your pictures
I love people who love birds so we’re even & thank you 🐰
Thank you and welcome!
<3
The birds may be common but your photos of them are extraordinary. They also make me smile.
Your comment makes me smile, so we both did good today!! <3
Yay!
<3
Thank you for the engaging graphic reminders that there is beauty all around us and most especially in the commonplace.
Thanks for seeing the bigger picture Dor & Happy Easter 🐰
These ‘birds of paradise’ photos get better each time, my friend. ♥♥♥♥♥♥~(‘▽^人)
Yes there are birds of paradise, and birds in all their different glory, live in abundance in every human’s space. Happy Easter sweet friend ♥♥♥♥♥♥~(‘▽^人)
Happy Easter to you too! ♡✧( ु•⌄• )
<3 <3
I guess you need to be very patient to capture birds pictures.
Beautiful collection.🙂
Either that or it doesn’t feel like patience at all, just pure fun. Cheers to you my friend <3
Cheers.🙂
