Meet the Lazuli Bunting!
He’s the new bird,
on the block!
I had never heard of a Lazuli Bunting,
until this guy showed at one of The Holler feeders.
Now he is a Holler local.
Happy Easter to you from the beauteous blue bunting~

He’s a beauteous fellow indeed!
His blues make me happy!
I can see why!
Such lovely colours. Thank you for sharing.
You are most welcome & I am happy you enjoyed.
Gorgeous little thing!
The Lazuli Bunting is the colours of the Ukraine flag. He come to the Holler, because he knew you would post amazing pics! ❦
I am photographing him now in the sunlight. If I post more of him it will be in honor of The Ukraine and the bloggers who pointed this out to me. Thank you Resa .
❦❦
Love their colouring! They remind me of a landscape scene with blue sky on top and yellow grass on the bottom. Also the Ukrainian flag.
I am taking more photos of him now in bright sunlight and he is iridescent. If I post more I will post in honor of The Ukraine. Thank you for seeing this.
And how dapper he is!
He’s all dressed up and ready to fly!
Nice clips. Easter greetings and smiles.
Visa versa 2UX2! Happy Easter! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
I also never heard of a Lazuli Bunting but an impressive chap he is. And perfect spring colours. Happy Easter Cindy!!
Happy Easter Chris! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
What a fine new neighbour. Hope you keep him happy!
He is here for the third day, so, so far so good!
Excellent!

❤️
He’s such a little cutie, Cindy! ❤️🥰
He’s adorable, and now the sun’s shining and he is iridescent!
He’s a pretty one. Looks kind of sassy as well.
He’s a tad shrimpy, but who cares when he’s that good lookin’! 😉
He is a beauty, and you capture that beauty well, beautiful image! I love all the colors he has.
Thank you John. He’s a looker that is for sure! He’s here right now, so hopefully he likes it here.
So pretty! Does he have a lady friend? I do hope they are busy making more.
I hope they are too! The females look a lot like house finches, so he probably does. We have so many house finches, but the buntings are much smaller.
Oh my goodness! Have you reported it to eBird? Every time we’ve reported a vagrant, we’ve had hoards of people come to our property…so maybe you don’t want to report it. 😉 We have Indigo Buntings but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a Lazuli Bunting. What a beauty! 💙🧡💛
I’ve never seen the Indigo, except in photographs. I didn’t know about reporting to ebird, but I will pass. Hordes of people will scare away the birds!!!
That’s the downside to reporting to eBird…but the upside is that the data collected is of great help to scientists tracking these things. 🙂
I had no idea. Thanks for letting me know.
He’s gorgeous Cindy this new kid on the block.
Right in time for Easter!
💖👏👏👏
Happy Easter Cindy! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
Happy Easter Cindy! The Lazuli bunting is a beauty. 🐦👍
Happy Easter! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
You are SO lucky to see this bird. What a beauty he is. Nice photos of him.
He’s here right now! I think he’s going to stick around.
I would LOVE to have a variety of beautiful birds like this hanging around my place. Enjoy!
It is a pretty awesome place to live for a person who loves birds as much as I do.
Just keep that camera working so you can share with us! 😉
So kind of you! დდ

Lovely bird, wonderful photos. LG Marie
Merci beaucoup mon Ami Marie. Happy Easter! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
He is gorgeous, and his blue head just shimmers! How wonderful that this little guy is now a local at the Holler feeders! I’ve been reading lately about how blues are created in nature, and it’s fascinating! The book is called Blue, In Search of Nature’s Rarest Color by Kai Kupferschmidt. May you have a blessed Easter, Cindy.
I must read this book! It sounds fascinating. Happy Easter to you Kathy! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
As I was looking at the lovely Lazuli Bunting photos, a twist on the old “Over the Rainbow” quote came to mind… “Somewhere over the rainbow, birds are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.” 🙂
That’s it! We’ve made it over the rainbow!! Happy Easter! 🥚🐇🐾
Happy Easter! 🐣 How beautiful – what a lovely spring visitor.
Happy Easter Lynette & stay safe and well my friend! 🥚🐇🐾
It really is a beauty, the new bird on the block. 🙂

Happy Easter Brad 🐣🐰🔔
He’s gorgeous!
He is. Tiny too.
He’s lovely. Happy Easter, Cindy! ♥.
Happy Easter Niki! 🥚🐇🐾
Happy Easter Cindy, and I have this funny feeling that if you search all around The Holler you’ll probably find the remains of the ‘Ark’. Every bird variety known must reside there…or is it the deluxe meals at the feeder? 🤣 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋
I think it is the combo effect, of The Holler spa with fresh water bathing daily, grape jelly (even the birds that aren’t supposed to like it, love it) and then of course, the steadily available gourmet seed blend, along with fresh oranges, and daily nectar. These birds know well (and others follow them) that there is such thing as a free lunch, dinner and breakfast.
Haha, I think I’ll move over there too Cindy…à la carte, that’s better than I eat 😂 🤣
It is pretty much better than I eat too…….
Wow. What a beauty! Great shots. Happy Easter.
Happy Easter Michael! 🥚🐇🐾
Adorable.💦
Agreed.
Happy Easter, Cindy. A gorgeous visitor to your site (and so is the Lazuli Bunting!)
Cracking up…..
So pretty!
Yes!
😁
What a color combination! Supporting Ukraine is awesome 💕
I am beginning to suspect he flew in for just this purpose. Gives me goosebumps.
What a beautiful bird! Thank you for sharing with us. 💛
Thank you more for appreciating him Michele.
What beautiful birds!
Yes. Thank you.
He is gorgeous. We are still waiting for ours to show up.
You have plural Lazuli’s, and they show up regularly? How exciting!
Yes, we do, as they breed in our county. They should be arriving in the coming weeks. 🙂
Sounds heavenly.
A beautiful bird and It has a nice song as well!
I saw the video. There are so many song bird species here. It is hard to hear just one, but I will listen for it.
A truly beautiful lifer Cindy to have turn up at your feeder, what a blessing my friend 🙂
Yes. I am thrilled. He is tiny compared to the finches, but he is here everyday now, and holds his own effortlessly. I am sure his mate is too.
he is lovely I was just going to ask if you had heard his song.. when I saw Tofinio posted a video.
waves.. sends love.
He is here consistently now. He is smaller than all the other birds excepting the hummingbirds. I haven’t heard him sing yet because all the other birds drown him out. I suspect I will soon and I am pretty sure his mate is here too, and probably soon the parents will be with the babies at the feeder! Can’t wait.
What a delight! There’s a very special kind of joy in spotting a new-to-me bird isn’t there. 😍
Yes, indeed there is. Hope all is well with you Liz & thanks for stopping by.
He’s cute…can I have it😺🥚🐰Pawkisses for a Happy Hoppy Easter dear furriend🐾😽💞
Happy Easter to you🥚🐇🐾
Beautiful portraits as always. Your good wishes reciprocated
Thank you Derrick.
