I checked the mileage from where my daughter lives. An hour and a half is doable for a day trip the next time her father and I visit. I’ll have to suggest it to her.
I see this now that you mentioned it. I love the different things people see in these formations. It proves your eyes and your imagination are working well. When we first see a confusing image, our mind instantly interprets it for us, giving up a close match, which is why when I noticed a great blue heron at my front door, my brain immediately asked me, “Is there a dinosaur at you door?” I had to look again to see it was a huge heron! 😉
So many amazing places that I will never see in person. I always enjoy your photos. Feel like I’ve been there. I clicked and looked at some up close. Magnificent!
I remember a friend came back from visiting family in Sedona… seems those many years ago she created my yearning to visit the area, but I still haven’t made it there. Perhaps someday…… 🤔
Thanks, Cindy. We’re trying to work up to taking the plunge to do some travel, but I’m guessing our first trip will likely head north to see the grandkids. 🙏
I am not though, because I will tell you honestly, Sedona is way too crowded in peak season. If you visit, go in the off seasons. Peak season is too much, too expensive and too crowded. You are right though, Sedona is marvelous! დ
I would so love to photograph Sedona in the snow! What I have seen of this is gorgeous. If you do go, visit off season, the crowds are too much during the peak periods დ
I’ve never seen them in person nor sunset/rise shots but I would guess they do when the sun is low on the horizon. I was remarking on the shaping of the rock.
I stopped going to Sedona about seven years ago because the traffic was horrible, there were too many people, and they had changed the streets, making the traffic even worse. But, thankfully, the scenery never changes! Glad your visit was beautiful.
I had to search out hikes where no one goes. They exist and were wonderful, but I agree with you. The traffic was terrible and the crowds were too much. Prices super inflated too. But, as you say, soooo beautiful დ
Thanks for letting me know, Cindy. I recently read another blog post about a Sedona trip, and she showed pictures of the traffic backup in one area. Unbelievable!
Gorgeous photos, Cindy! Looks like a beautiful place. I should visit sometime. 😉
Thank you Michele. If you do visit, go off, off season, as it gets too crowded დ
You are welcome. Yes, right you are! 🏜️
დდ
Ever since we were there I’ve been longing to go back.
It is definitely a place that one keeps returning too. I first visited as a kid დ
There is surely something magical about Sedona.!
Yes there is, magic is in the air.
Such beautiful cliffs against the sky!
Sedona is stunning დ
I checked the mileage from where my daughter lives. An hour and a half is doable for a day trip the next time her father and I visit. I’ll have to suggest it to her.
Make sure you visit in non-peak seasons. The crowds are too much in peak periods. Fall and winter would be lovely დ
Thank you for the advice, Cindy. The thought of crowds never occurred to me!
Crowds are now an issue in many US national and state parks. Sedona in peak season is way too crowded.
That’s a shame. I’ve always stayed away crowds, even before the pandemic.
Yes. I am crowd avoidant.
I’m glad I’m not the only one!
დდ
I’m hoping to get down there this year!
Go as off season as you can. Sedona is too crowded, but it is incredibly beautiful დ
Is it my eyes, or does anyone else think some of those rock formations look like the remains of melted buildings?
The formations are like Rorschach blots. They can be seen in fascinatingly different ways. I love that you see melted buildings. I see this now too დ
Good to know that it isn’t my imagination that I see melted window and doorways!
It is your imagination, and that is wonderful! I see them too, now that your imagination led the way. My husband said he now sees this too….
Initially, I thought the huge rock formation on the rear left was a mosque with 2 turrets in front…. I now wonder if I need my eyes checked!
I know exactly what you mean about those blue herons! Stone bills look like dinosaurs too! Ditto for alligators.
Yep. They all do.
So many amazing places that I will never see in person. I always enjoy your photos. Feel like I’ve been there. I clicked and looked at some up close. Magnificent!
Your beautiful comment makes my heart smile. Thank you & be well დ
Fantabulous!
Grazie mille Jim დ
Those rock formations are amazing
The way the colors change with the light is amazing დ
What a breathtaking landscape!
Have a fine weekend and stay safe, dear Cindy!
Thank you dear friend. Stay safe & well დ
We are nothing in the face of such splendor. Stunning photos, as always, Cindy 🙂
True. Recognizing insignificance is peaceful, and realizing we are a tiny part of the splendor is spiritual დ
Beautiful Sedona 💙 Love hiking there, so many hidden gems 💎
Yes! One must choose and hike wisely here to find all the wild one can find alone დ
Excellent presentation!
Thank you very much დ
Very beautiful photos, Cindy! Different from the Mojave Desert up here. ❤️

Stunning!!!!
You take the best pics, Cindy!! ❦
We should go to a party. You make the gowns and I’ll take the photos! დ
დდ
Absolutely gorgeous!
Grazie mille Susan დ
Beautiful images of a beautiful place. I hope to visit there again one day.
Please go in the off season. I look forward to your posts when you do დ
Sedona is so gorgeous and your photos of it are so representatively beautiful. 🙂
Your kind thoughtfulness is so appreciated Lynette დ
Oh, those stunning red rocks!
They amplify the sun! დ
I remember a friend came back from visiting family in Sedona… seems those many years ago she created my yearning to visit the area, but I still haven’t made it there. Perhaps someday…… 🤔
If you decide to go, let me know, I can give you tips on visiting to avoid crowds which are a problem now დ
Thanks, Cindy. We’re trying to work up to taking the plunge to do some travel, but I’m guessing our first trip will likely head north to see the grandkids. 🙏
Yes. That would be my priority, definitely. We are starting to travel again too…..
You must be from Sedona’s Tourist Office. Marvellous.
I am not though, because I will tell you honestly, Sedona is way too crowded in peak season. If you visit, go in the off seasons. Peak season is too much, too expensive and too crowded. You are right though, Sedona is marvelous! დ
Ah, a woman after my own heart. Avoid those pesky tourists! Tourist? Me? Never!
Timeless aren’t they Cindy, you could catch them differently in any light and still show their beauty 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋
Exactly true. Beauty in any hue…. დ
Love the scenes, the background sky evenly deep blue. The kind of blue that un-blue you 🙂
“The kind of blue that un-blue you” This kinda blue makes me happy! Love your words and imagery დ
Beautiful and lots of sun.
Still cool though which was wonderful დ
Someday I’d love to go to Sedona. Last time we were close to there it had snowed so we thought better of it, but one day…. Beautiful pictures, Cindy.
I would so love to photograph Sedona in the snow! What I have seen of this is gorgeous. If you do go, visit off season, the crowds are too much during the peak periods დ
We used to (before Covid) always go to Montana in October, and this would be a late-season side trip.
It would be awesome then. I hope you go. Montana with the leaves turning in ethereal. დ
I love the images with clear sky’s.
Thanks much Hank. Happy you do დ
Quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing Cindy.
You are very welcome. Happy you enjoyed დ
“Glow” reminds me of the Easter Island statues.
Do they glow with the sunset?
I’ve never seen them in person nor sunset/rise shots but I would guess they do when the sun is low on the horizon. I was remarking on the shaping of the rock.
Ah, yes. I understand.
Wow …What a magnificent landscape! Stunning images, Cindy!
Thank you Amy & take good care დ
So majestic!! Thank you for sharing this beauty of nature!! 💛🙌🏻
Thank you for appreciating it & cheers to you დ
Those are magnificent and powerful structures. They are not to be messed with!
Nope. They are staying put as we come and go….. დ
Magical…can feel the energy Cindy ~ sending joy hedy ☺️🕊
Visa versa 2UX2 Hedy დდ
Nothing like it. Do you live nearby?
No. But it is worth the ride! დ
I used to travel to Sedona regularly from Miami. I miss it.
I understand. I have been coming since I was a child.

I am dreaming .. one day.

Stunning pictures as always, Cindy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 They put me in mind of Georgia O’Keeffe’s New Mexico landscape paintings. 😍
Yes! She painted the southwest so sensitively. Thank you Liz & cheers to you დ
Stunning views ! I am always amazed to see tree’s growing on rocks in very little soil.
Yes! I am too. I love photographing this hardy tenacity დ
Lovely pictures. I love the red rock landscape in Sedona. It’s such a magical place.
Thank you. Sedona is magical and very different. დ
Gorgeous captures Cindy! I drove briefly through Sedona years ago but never experienced a sunset.
Thanks much Brad & I am happy you enjoyed. Cheers to you დ
Great photos of a natural wonder. I was there many years ago, but didn’t take such nice shots. Thank you very much. LG Marie
Your thoughtful comments are very much appreciated Marie. I am glad you have been here. დ
Breathtaking, Cindy. We missed the sunsets, but now have a second chance to see through your stunning lens.
I love traveling with you and Pretty. You make the trip more fun დ
Yes, beautiful!!!
Merci beaucoup mon Ami დ
Bienvenus.
These are beautiful photos! Love the shape and form of those formations. The colour is also so rich.
Thank you. Red rock country is uniquely beautiful. I am happy you enjoyed & cheers to you დ
We need the sun and warmth here, could you send some???? 🙂
Yes, please! We need your rain. Let’s trade! დ
How beautiful!! We’ve had so much rain here that I’ve nearly forgotten what a sunset is supposed to look like. Thanks for reminding me, Cindy!
I’ll take your rain and send you our endless sunshine! Happy you enjoyed Debbie დ
Makes me wish I could see it in person!
I wish you could დ
Gorgeous Sedona shots, Cindy! We just loved our visit last August and were thrilled to see the iconic mountains (unlike in 2018 when snow slapped us)!
Thanks very much Terri. I would love to visit and photograph Sedona in the winter. I bet the crowds are gone…… დ
You would think. Go after New Years!
Yes. Med January would be perfect.
The beauty is astounding! You really know how to capture great images.
Much appreciated. Thank you Kymber & cheers to you დ

Beautiful – thank you for posting! 🙂
Happy you enjoyed & cheers to you June დ
My favorite place on earth. I have many similar pictures of this magical place. <3
I understand why it is your favorite დ

Nothing like red rock country at sunset.
Exactly! დ
Beautiful colors against that blue sky!
Thank you Kathy & Happy Easter to you and your family დ
Gorgeous!
Grazie Mille Jennie დ
❤️
Beautiful! Sedona is on my bucket list.
I recommend going off season as it is very crowded! დ
Thanks for letting me know, Cindy. I recently read another blog post about a Sedona trip, and she showed pictures of the traffic backup in one area. Unbelievable!
It is quite serious and not at all pleasant.
