It was a big day at The Holler!

The hummers wanted their portraits taken.

First, there was lots of primping,

and fluffing.

A hummer’s feathers need to look their very best,

for such an auspicious occasion.

After their photo shoot, they got back to their favorite activity,

eating!
Cheers to you from The Holler Hummers~

The closeness is fab. They are as big as pigeons , in my imagination, yet I know they are smaller than my thumb. What a sweet, beautiful little creature this is. Thanks for the pics, Cindy!
They are the most fun, wonderful additions to any home garden. They really are part of our family. We eat outside often and they land on the table looking for their food! 😉
Wonderful!
Grazie mille.
🙂
Do the come by very often? They can be very curious when they hang out for a while. They are so beautiful! Great shots!
Oh yes! They are part of the extended family.
Wow! Stunning shots!
Very pleased you liked them <3
These are absolutely delightful, Cindy!
I am so happy you enjoyed them. Hummers are delightful creatures <3
They really are amazing how they have so much in one tiny package.
The more closely you can see them, the more their beauty is revealed.
Cindy, these photos are amazing, and gorgeous. They’re National Geographic quality. Photographing a hummingbird is nearly impossible. You did it!
Awwww, thank you Jennie. So appreciated & so kind of you <3
You are very welcome, Cindy. 🙂
<3 <3
Excellent!

Oh my goodness! How beautiful. I love hummingbirds!😍

They’re so beautiful! Great photos, Cindy!
Thanks much. They are flying jewels.
You’re quite welcome!
<3
Up close and personal! Thanks for this shoot. Going on two years of me getting blanked by the hummers in my backyard! Haha. Too fast v too slow. 🙂
They are the ultimate challenge aren’t they. They fly in my open window, hang out until the cat walks in, and then buzz out.
They posed so nicely for you.
I thought they were very good citizens today. I certainly cannot say this everyday!
Especially when they are chasing you.
Beautiful photos. I have never seen on in person. They are an amazing part of creation 🙂
They are indeed truly an incredible part of amazing creation <3
See!!!! Jennie agrees with me! National Geographic quality. I’m surprised they didn’t ask you to do their nails. 😉 The preen and primp for you.
Cracking up once again…….They probably will want their nails done next!
Such wonderful photos Cindy.
Alison
Grazie mille Alison <3

Incredible shots, Cindy. The detail is amazing.
<3
Thank you Marie. They are quite remarkable little creatures <3
😎😎
Great! At what distance were the pictures taken? Tele lens? Full frame, I believe, camera must be steady or shot at high speed.
Very pleased you enjoyed them. These were shot at about 600mm from about 7 feet away.
So cute ! 🙂
They are the cutest creatures, and the closer you see them, the more beautiful they are.
Absolutey incredible, Cindy – so lovely to be able to see these wonderful birds up close. X

Pictures by Cindy Knoke of Hummers primping for their photoshoot. Eating came next.
They are either eating, sleeping or bickering, much like humans! Thank you for your thoughtfulness Patricia <3

Wow Cindy. These are beautiful hummers and images! To have so many hummers and a camera good enough to catch them. Yay!
I am so grateful to have friends like you Brad, who appreciate them.
wow, that’s amazing !!
Thank you very much.
At first glance I thought the portrait at top was of an eagle! All a matter of perspective (or focal length). Great shots.
Sort of like seeing the universe in a grain of sand. You are right most everything is a result of perspective.
The MOST exquisite images I’ve ever seen of hummers.
Thanks so much, Cindy.
Awwww, you are a very kind friend Sheila <3
I’m in awe over how clear these photos are, Cindy! Either your hummers are very cooperative or you’ve got the patience of Job (and a super long lens on your camera!) Beautiful birdies!
Awwww, thanks so much. The closer you can see them, the more beautiful they are <3
Such exquisite birds. You got some amazing shots! Just love Hummingbirds.
Thank you so much. They are delightful creatures <3
Wow I never realized hummingbirds were so beautiful. Just a rainbow of happiness. 🙂
They do bring happiness with every season they spend here. They are family members.
Your photos are spectacular. National Geographic would be lucky to have you as a resident photographer.
I’ve met the NG photographers. While I am photographing salmon eating grizzlies from a safe distance on dry land, they are scuba diving in the river to get the bears expressions from the fishies viewpoint!
Utter magic, Cindy! They did seem to be primping for their portraits.
Grazie mille & they do primp and preen!
Perfect pictures!
Danke schoen!
They are so beautiful, what wonderful photos. xxx
Merci beaucoup mon ami <3
