Until I find a way to make a digital rubber stamp that says, “Great photos, Cindy!,” I will just have to type, “Great photos, Cindy!” I appreciate your endurance of oxygen deprivation to do all that work for me, but remember that you also left behind its carbon monoxide variant.
I lived in CA for 25 years in the LA area and never got down to see that! I sure did miss something special. Or you just make it look awe inspiring. I would feel quite peaceful there myself. Right now I’m keeping good thoughts for those in harms way. Being above the clouds seems just about right at this moment. Have a wonderfilled week ahead.
The thing I notice is that there is incredible beauty even in the most ordinary of places. I love it on the mountain, the only problem is there aren’t as many critters as at The Holler! Be well my friend~
So beautiful Cindy makes me want to get out and do some photography! I had this flash of inspiration yesterday to create a book of photos of sculptures and poetry. Maybe one day!
What a fantastic diversity of views you have presented here…one for every mood (and each mood containing wonder and happiness). Brilliant post Cindy, there are views of this world that truly make me take in a deep breathe and fall in love with life all over again 🙂 Cheers to a great weekend.
Astonishing photos Cindy! Where did you take them?? I can’t imagine being so high above the clouds on land. And the reflected photos were especially beautiful! xox
This is from Mt. Palomar State Park, which is quite close to The Holler and a place we go regularly to hang out with the pine trees. Have a wonderful weekend!
I was intrigued by that square, stone column by the water’s edge. Was it part of a bridge at one time? I love to think on things like that! Beautiful pictures, as always!
Good eye! It is an old generator built by a small dam. It actually has two stories, since rotted away, with closing cupboards inside and windows. It was built to see if electricity could be generated which it could not.
Above the clouds! That must have been a good hike. I love that everything looks so green. When I’ve been to California, usually after the heat of summer has disappeared, everything is brown and dry in the hills. The hubby and I are arriving in CA Oct 1, will be visiting Alys and enjoy a trip to Carmel too. xo B
That is such a pretty part of the state. Head a bit south of Carmel into the northern part of Big Sur if you feel like it. The part that wasn’t damaged by the winter storms. This is some of the most beautiful coastline in the west. We will be near you as the crow flies when you visit, but on the other side of The Sierra Nevadas, in the Eastern Sierras. Wish I could meet up with you. We could go critter searching!
Amazing shots, Cindy. 🙂
Merci beaucoup mon ami Ranu <3
Heavenly! <3 xo

Gorgeous!! Really love your first picture.. It is the kind of view you want to see in the morning.
Yes. It brings immediate relaxation.
Where is this? Beautiful photos.
Thank you very much. This is Mt. Palomar State Park in California, and short distance from The Holler~
How wonderful to have such a beautiful spot so close to home.
Yes. It is a wonderful place to retreat to regularly <3

Very true & so kind of you! Thank you & cheers too~
Ever so fatastic pictures, Cindy: thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful week,
Pit
The same to you my friend and thank you very much!
This is CA, right? Gorgeous shots. So peaceful in light of the storm Irma hitting Florida right now.
Yes, I felt we needed to get above the clouds of Irma and see some peaceful scenes for a change. The next few days will be scary~
Peaceful is good! 🙂 Gorgeous sunsets and views, Cindy. <3
Grazie & we need peaceful!
Very much so!
<3
Incredibly beautiful.
Hugs to you dear friend~
What gorgeous photos! Peaceful just to look at them. 🙂
I am so glad and all the best to you Lynette!
Such lovely shots, Cindy! I need a writer’s retreat high above the clouds!!
You do, and because they are ‘far from the madding crowds,’ they are very affordable.
Fantastic shots! Nature is a beautiful thing. )
She is the most beautiful artist of all!
Gorgeous photos, Cindy, they do give a sense of peace.

I am so glad. Cheers to you my friend~

I keep looking at these photos, wishing I was or will be there some day. Thank you for sharing them.
Oh, what a lovely thought and comment. Thank you!
Yes, peace and beauty and prayers to all those in Florida or who have left. Many are our blogging pals.
Thank you for this post, Cindy!
And there is another storm coming. And yes, I am worrying about our friends~
Me too!!!!!
Breathtaking pics and apt description for each pic!!! I loved ‘and peace’ and ‘and above it all’!!! Thanks for sharing!! And stay safe from Irma!!!
Thank you more for appreciating and be well Sifar~
Happy Sunday Cindy! Have a super week! Hugz Lisa and Lucy Goosey
Give Lucy a kiss for me. She’s such a beauty!

Your usual well composed shots. How refreshing to see nature in all its beauty!
Thank you Diana. We need the beauty of nature these days!
Beautiful, Cindy. I love the clouds lying among the mountains. <3
Especially when you are looking down on them in the sunshine! So happy you enjoyed & cheers to you~
Fantastic photographs.
Honored & humbled~
Gorgeous scenery and ever so peaceful.
Peace is what we all need & thank you!
Yes, it is. 🙂
Incredibly beautiful images and prayer too Cindy! Where was the first image taken and the lake meadow?
Much appreciated Brad, The photos were all taken in Palomar Mountain State Park which is close to The Holler in California.
Thanks Cindy. It looks like a beautiful place to visit, live, photograph or just chill. 🙂
Gosh that first photo took my breath away! Lovely post!
So happy you enjoyed and thank you for telling me!
Wow! Those magnificent clouds! Not likely to be seen like that here in pancake-flat Illinois! 🙂
All my family comes from Chicago. I am the only member of my generation born in California. I have only been to Illinois once which I need to rectify~
Stunning!
Grazie mille!
I grew up above the clouds and remember it well. Nature at it’s best. Great photography my friend.
How wonderful! This was in Switzerland or Austria?
The Alps in Austria (Suedtirol)
The pictures are good
Thank you!
Wonderful to see such peace, and also harmless clouds too, after all the images of Irma barreling across the ocean to wreak havoc on landfall…
Thank you Valerie and yes, we needed some counterbalancing peaceful cloud images!
Beautiful!💕
Merci beaucoup~
Beautiful photos, Cindy. We are thinking of our friends in America. x
Very kind of you and much appreciated too! <3

Stunning captures Cindy!
Much appreciated & cheers to you!
Dear Cindy, is it possible to stay at your place? Maybe you you can stay at our place in Carinthia, Austria.
Oh, how wonderful that would be! I have never thought of this and would need to discuss with my husband but it sounds intriguing!
What lovely place and well caught and not a broomstick in sight. 😀
I tend to hide it for photos…….
You have such a gift of finding paradise, Cindy!
Thank you. It helps keep my head happy~
Beautiful pictures, Cindy.
So happy you enjoyed them!
The clouds settled above the mountains are breath taking.☺
Thank and we do live in a beautiful world~

How thoughtful of you to notice and comment!
Did you find my email?
No please resend. I like the idea a lot.
Ok. Thanks.
PS: I resent a few minutes ago.
Will look for it, thank you~
Got your email … tried your reply suggestion.
The clouds come, the rain falls, the water gathers and finds its rightful place. It’s a perfect system. Why did we, do we, mess with it?
I have no idea why we so willingly destroy nature’s beauty. It is a terrible testament to human beings~
🙁
<3
Beautiful pictures!!
Muchas gracias amiga mia!
That sunset is stunning!
Merci beaucoup mon ami Lynn <3
xoxoxo

Thank you more for appreciating them! <3
Yes, detachment and perspective can definitely bring peace. Wonderfully said with images. <3
Thank you for understanding and knowing~
My favorite is the first photo. I’m crazy about clouds.
They are fascinating aren’t they, especially when looking down on them for a change~
That’s so true! I remember my first air flight when I saw the clouds below!
Yes. It is immediate perspective.
That looks like one beautiful place above the clouds, beautiful images!
So pleased they resonated with you!
Memories… Makes me think of my summer of backpacking, Cindy. A much needed break from the hurrying, divided world. Thanks. –Curt
Yes. I hear you. We are hopefully heading up to the Eastern Sierra for the fall colors soon. I crave the mountains and lakes….
The aspens are calling, Cindy. 🙂
So beautiful Cindy makes me want to get out and do some photography! I had this flash of inspiration yesterday to create a book of photos of sculptures and poetry. Maybe one day!
It sounds wonderful and I would love to see the finished work!
Another stunning post Cindy. At times I wonder if Clouds are not the paint brushes in the sky? xx
Sounds like a new poem is developing in you Lea! Cheers to you & be well~
Perhaps, I usually haven’t a clue until I read what I wrote??? All the best Cindy`…

So beautiful!
Vielen danke!
The peace and solitude in this post are much enjoyed and appreciated, Cindy, thank you. A little peace and perspective can go a looong way.
Yes, we need lots of both these days!
So important to spend time in nature… it certainly does change one’s perspective.
Yes it does. Architecture does this too. I was just admiring your Greene & Green photo tour~
A bird’s eye view of the world. Must have been a heckuva climb.
Thankfully the car did it for us!
That is lucky! We drove to the top of Mt. Diablo this summer, and it was hot. Napa was going to reach 110. Unbelievable.
Yes, lots of unusual weather everywhere!
What a fantastic diversity of views you have presented here…one for every mood (and each mood containing wonder and happiness). Brilliant post Cindy, there are views of this world that truly make me take in a deep breathe and fall in love with life all over again 🙂 Cheers to a great weekend.
Good. I am glad you are in love with life again. You deserve to be my friend. We all do. Always wonderful to hear from you!

I love stone work, and have done a bit myself…so I’m always wanting the story behind it! Thank you!
