      1. A watery desert. I don’t know if I could be out of sight of land. I think it would make me nervous! I hope the weather is good for your passage and not too stormy. <3

      1. We are still in The Sargasso Sea. It’s an ocean defined by the current surrounding it. In two days we will approach the current boundary off the coast of Africa where there is subtantial upwelling and generally a lot of whales, especially blue whales. This is our fourth crossing, our third over this part of the ocean. I saw a lot of whales including blues at the confluence before once! I am hoping to see some again this time. In the Sargasso itself, one sees little marine life, mistakenly leading people like Coleridge to refer to the sea as a desert. It is a very organically rich ocean, but the life is mostly below the water. I have seen pilot whales once in the middle of The Sargasso. The Sargasso fascinates me. It is named for living floating sargasso kelp that supports a whole ecosystem of minute marine life, including resting baby sea turtles.

Besos <3

    1. Thank you Vashti. It is like another world, yet it is our world, with no people. It always reminds me of Coleridge and his ancient mariner, adrift on the empty sea. It is so beautiful.

  4. Hi there Cindy. They were all good though the last one really jumped out, taking me by surprise. Was that your intent? Breathtaking colours and once again it made a big difference that you could click on it.

    1. I am happy you enjoyed Andy! I do try to end with a good photo that stands out to reward people who bother to look at all the photos! So pleased you noticed and cheers to you my friend~
