Just shows what you can capture if you really look at the smaller picture – interesting CIndy
Until I really started taking photos after I retired, I never really LOOKED at what was around me. Now I do! I know you do too~
Yes – indeed I lead a small Group of improvers and try to get the to look at the details of the whole – Our aim is to look at Composition, Content and Creativity – the three ‘c’s
Nice spread. Does not look like sunshine.
It was cloudy although I have no idea how you can tell from the photos!
The light and color saturation.
The man can SEE!
Lovely pictures. The lady is beautiful.
Isn’t she glorious. She looked directly at me and beamed! Made my day~
A very good catch!!
You are a gentlemen and hence you deserve the very best~
Wonderful and so much fun.
We humans can create such beauty if we focus on it~
I just wrote about Amsterdam, too. But about the red light district so unfortunately no photos to accompany the post with 😜 I love your photos though!!! Very beautiful and a fantastic city indeed.
Thank you and I will head over to read your post.
Looks like Amsterdam is a beautiful city. 🙂
It is! And I keep going back~
🙂
….you have a wonderful eye
Oh so kind, especially from a talented artist like you.
…. street photography captures things conventional art can’t possibly give voice to, Cindy, and these pictures truly do contain 1,000 words.
Awww, so appreciated.
Out of all those pictures, the one with the books calls to me most. What a gorgeous library. Would love to hang out there. 🙂
Yes, I love these old libraries too, the one’s with multiple levels and ancient books. I always want to explore the books. This was the Rijksmuseum library. Full of studying scholars.
The beauty in small things…lovely captures, Cindy..your pictures are always fascinating!… 🙂
So encouraging and motivating. Thank you sincerely~
🙂 absolutely welcome…
<3
Wonderful series, Cindy. A day in the life… 🙂
Wouldn’t it be extraordinary fun to do “A Day in the Life” of everywhere. I will try to do one everywhere I go from now on!
Yes, that’d be so cool!
Let’s do it!
You really focused on these!
Yes I did!! 🙂
The bride’s dress is amazingly beautiful! Your eyes had lots to take in, Cindy. 🙂
She was like a fairy princess suddenly appearing and she stook smack dab in the middle of the street! Amazing!
Great shots, beautiful walk through Amsterdam !!!
Thank you for this !
Thank you much more for the thoughtful appreciation!
An amazing collection of photos!
Ordinary really. But ordinary is often the most extraordinary isn’t it?
Lovely pictures, especially the bride. We love Amsterdam.
The bride lit up the street with her radiant happiness.
It showed. She looked beautiful.
<3
Beautiful set of photos! I’ve never been there, and it is nice to see the variety through your lens.
The beauty in the everyday, always around us, just waiting to be noticed. Although I do agree, the bride was far from ordinary. She was a fairy princess who just popped in I think! 😉
You found remarkable things, as always! Thank you so much for sharing the beauty you saw with us! 🙂
Thank you so much Amy for sharing what you see with me. It is very special to me. <3.
I like the lady’s dress. 🙂
It’s beautiful isn’t it! <3
Everyday miracles! Thank you Cindy 🙂
Thank you Maiko for the miracle that is you! <3
You are amazing!
Et tu Maiko!
Wow so cool! Thank you Cindy for sharing it.
Ahhh, sharing with you my friend is a privelege~
Your posts are amazing!
<3 <3
What great captures of Amsterdam 🙂
So pleased you enjoyed Val & cheers to you~
Some fine collection well done Cindy!
Ahhhh, much appreciated!
Your pictures always make me smile. 🙂
You make me smile, so it is a fair equation~
Great library!
Yep. Almost makes me want to go back to grad school, almost.
All exquisite! I love that wedding dress.
She was a fairy dropped in my path. Like Cinderalla, soon to disappear~
Ah but a brief glimpse of fantasy. 🙂
We need fantasy~
I especially love the first shot! Wonderful places are places you can walk & discover things. Amsterdam is obviously one of those places. Thank you, Cindy!
Wasn’t she something! She just beamed out happiness. A very nice moment.
Teapots! I’d love to see a row of teapots like that on one of my walks/journeys. And guess what I have little ornamental dog a bit like the ones in your photo. It’s very old. Belonged to my grandparents. 🙂
We bought two bear cubs from the same artist in Canada. They are looking down on us from on high at The Holler! And the teapots rocked didn’t they……Loved em too.
A wonderful showing of Amsterdam, the everyday things we can so easily miss when we confine ourself to our small world… Thank you Cindy x Barbara
Awww, what a perceptive comment from a woman who doesn’t miss the good things!
Ah, you missed the girls in the windows, Cindy. (grin) –Curt
Yeah, I did that on purpose. Went there once. That was enough. Made me sad. People being sold and worse, bought~
You are right.
<3
Oh so lovely! 🙂
Thank you dear Bette. Happy New Year to you and Matilda~
Lovely! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you more for seeing! <3
Stay safe in your travels! See you soon. Blessings and peace. ☺✌
And to you my friend, always.
That dress is gorgeous! The photos are lovely! I couldn’t help but smile at all of those lovely tea pots! 🙂
I know for sure the collector of those tea pots is an incredibly wonderful person!
I totally agree! It’s an awesome collection. Your photo really sets them off. 🙂
<3
Wow you weren’t kidding, all lovely except…what was up with that guys suit – the jacket was kinda tight huh?
He just put his hands in his pockets. He was maybe feeling nervous marrying the fairy princess. He was so awesome. Can you imagine what it would be like if the fairy princess happened to see these comments from people all over the world who think she is so beautiful? That would be an truly amazing fairy tale!
I believe the guy’s suit is a bit too tight…. Just a bit…
I am sure you are both right, but at least he got to marry the fairy princess! 😉
the teapots!! they’re brilliant Cindy!
They really are! So glad you like them too~
love all your photos Cindy…
What a fabulous place to explore!
Always! 🙂
Love this set of photograph. The bride is picture perfect.
She radiates happiness doesn’t she! So nice to see~
You have such a wondrous eye!
Ahhhh, such a thoughtful thing to say. Thank you~
Wonderful photos and reminders to find beauty where we are. Thanks Cindy.
Cheers to you my friend and thank you too~
cheers!
<3
Very true.
Lovely photos.
Happy New Year!
Thank you & Happiest New Year to you!
😁
What a treat Cindy! Did you just encounter that beautiful wedding by chance or did you attend a wedding there? Either way, how wonderful for them to have you commemorate this moment for all time! Thanks for sharing the beauty of Amsterdam with all of us! ~Lynn
It was purely chance and several amazing things happened. She plunked herself smack dab in the center of the street and had a photographer who was messing around forever with his equipment, so she looked directly at me while I shot her and just beamed. I didn’t want to intrude or I would have found a way to send her the photos. It was a magical moment.
Yes, it was! You were totally there at the right place at the right time! 🙂
I think she was at the right place at the right time, I just was lucky enough to catch her image, in much the same way that I am lucky enough to know you. I hope you know this is true.
This beauty is around us everyday because of you Cindy. And I thank you for this 🙂 <3
And you too my talented young friend. You capture beauty too, much earlier than I ever did. <3
You’re too kind, Cindy! Thanks from the bottom of my heart <3
The truth hits home. <3
What a beautiful combination of different sights, Cindy. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂 — Suzanne
Thank you so much more for appreciating!
Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
Cindy Knoke starts off Monday on the blog and will keep you busy while I get the first of the new series posted. As usual Cindy manages to capture the places that many would choose not to photograph but which so clearly represent that particular location.. Clogs.. now I wonder where that can be?
I remember my grandfather going to Holland when I was a little girl and bringing me back wooden shoes which I wore even though they hurt my feet and a traditional Dutch dress which had several pieces and I wore often. I can remember each piece and the lace hat very clearly. Be well dear Sally and thank you my friend for your kind thoughtfulness. <3
I bet those were treasured.. the clogs are tough to wear.. I had a pair but loved being different. The photos are lovely as always Cindy. hugs
Clogs I could manage, but tradtional Dutch wooden shoes I think need to be carved to your foot to be comfortable.
My favourite is the picture of the little boy walking.
I think that may be Bansky. I photographed three potential Bansky’s in Amsterdam. I love him too.
There is a bit of Bansky in Melbourne. Some has survived and the Lord Mayor is a fan.
He is so freaking amazing. Have you seen Dismaland? Google image it, if not. The Lord Mayor must be a good person.
Tolle Bilder ich wünsche eine gute neue Woche lieber Gruß und Umarmung Gislinde
Haben eine wunderbare Woche meiner lieben Freundin Gislinde und danke Ihnen fur Ihre freundlichen Worte. <3 <3
They are little teapots short and stout,
Tip them up and pour them out. 🙂
Here is my handle, here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout!
I love nursery rhymes! I hope I am entering my second childhood. I look forward to forgetting everything annoying. 😉 😉
I like “forgetting everything annoying”. Now where’s that teddy bear. :bear: 🙂
Yes, let’s remember that teddy bear. Everything after that was a bit of a let down, so why bother?
😀
Love the bicycle and the wooden shoes. All are great glimpses into this interesting city.
It is quite unique isn’t it, and special because of this.
Hey, Wonderful impression of my capital Amsterdam. thank you!
greetings!
Lucky you, living in the gorgeous Netherlands! We visited two separate times in 2015 and I want to return!!! 🙂 <3
🙂
Beautiful pictures esp the tea pots and wooden shoes. 🙂
Thank you. Pure Dutch charm! <3
Wunderbare Aufnahmen, toll
Sie sind ein wunderbarer Freund Ernst! Haben eine ausgezeichnete Woche~
