(click/tap to enlarge and be sure to look at mystery plant at the end)

in Northern California,

is a blooming,

splendor.

Rhododendron grow riotously,

and water lillies,

abound.

Mendocino is less traveled,

allowing nature and people,

room to breathe.

Note: This last plant puzzled me. Do you know what it is without peeking? The flowers suggest foxglove, but the stalk was a mystery. I did lots of internet sleuthing to no avail, until I finally searched for mutant foxglove and found one example from Clemson University. Here is the citation:
Did you guess correctly? I certainly could not.
Cheers to you from blooming Mendocino~

Breathing a prayer of thanks with you my friend ⚘
I’ve never heard of this plant before and it’s the oddest looking thing. I was surprised to learn that this abnormality has been found in so many different species. Great photos, by the way!
Thank you Debra. It was only when I searched for mutation foxglove, that was able to find, two, only two references with photos for this on the internet ⚘
Oh, I love the water Lilly Cindy. And your last plant is easy…its nature’s guitar neck, strings of flowers and the sweet sound of life 🤣 But yes, a strange one indeed. Thank you for the colorful share kind lady 😀❤️🙏
Wow. How poetically beautiful. Since there are so very very few of these plants in the world, I think you just named it my friend. Guitar Flower. I love it! ⚘

Do you know what plant is blooming so exuberantly under the Secret Garden arch? That one’s a mystery to me.
I don’t remember and can’t identify from the photo. Sorry. It was growing at The Brewery Gulch Inn in Mendocino. If you are seriously interested you could email them with a link to the post and ask. They are avid and talented gardeners and I am sure they would be welcome your interest ⚘

I love Mendecino, one of the places I would visit when I lived in the Bay Area for many years. I love Hershey, but do miss being so near the sea and the drama of the California coastline.
I hear you and understand. Mendocino is especially lovely because it is so unspoiled and sparsely populated ⚘
A secret garden and a fascinating foxglove. All wonderful photos full of the abundance of summer flowers.
Smiling…. So happy you enjoyed. Flowers are happiness growing ⚘
