moves in fast,
at high elevation,
in the Canadian Rockies.
It is a beauty,
to behold,
albiet quite cold!
The ride back down the mountain,
was nippy without our ski gear.

Idk either, but I noticed they make gorgeous red “carpets.” And then there are the green carpets you shared. And the carpets of mist: thank you for sharing that glory! It almost makes it worthwhile to brave those bears… 🙃

Sighting bears, from a safe distance, is one of my most favorite things to do. Surprising them on a trail. Not at all! დ

I’m glad you experienced this exciting weather pattern without harm Cindy. I can remember hiking the Canadian Rockies in the summer and having a storm roll in with a 20 degree temperature drop, crazy winds, pouring rain, and hail. It was both exciting and concerning especially since I wasn’t prepared. Luckily, I just hiked down the mountain and I dried out once the storm finished.
That sounds just like the mountains! We knew snow was coming before we hiked up there so we were prepared. It was so beautiful when it actually happened დ

Sadly, they never saw those hikers again, or spotted Bigfoot. They did find Bigfoot scat thought, full of bear bells. Very sorry. Old joke, but still funny 😉

Hahaha. I love the sign, Cindy. You know why visitors should travel in groups of at least four, don’t you? If you’ve seen the size of these bears, you’ll know they have a big appetite, and four is the minimum needed to satiate them at snacktime.
Exactly! And that of course includes the food you are advised to carry!!! 😉
Yes, that food provides a little extra flavour to an already delicious meat dish.

It was a special holiday Coast to coast across Canada as wedding anniversary gift to ourselves we never could afford a honeymoon. Lol 😂 so 25 years later we treated ourselves 😊💖

Beautiful photos. I love the bear sign and the part about groups of four – be careful! My kids tease me that it’s the person who is the slowest runner (me) that has to worry most about the bears.
Tell your kids, it’s the one carrying the most food! We of course were a group of two. The sign was a little too late for us!! დ

Great photos, Cindy! I love the cold climate. We had 2 nights already in the mid 20’s. We are only 6300 ft too.
We got to 40 last night and we are in SoCal. It will get to around 26 at night by Christmas. I love it too დ
