Check out,

a bird’s eye view,

of Moloka’i,

taken from a helicopter,

with the doors removed.

Oh, to be a bird and soar over these islands!

I flew solo with a skillful pilot named Nick.

No one in my family wanted to go with me.

I can’t imagine why not!

It was an incredible experience.

We flew over other places too, so stay tuned & Cheers to you from Moloka’i~

Beautiful, beautiful, Cindy. I love Hawaii – the water is compelling. We took a helicopter flight over Maui – the whole family – with gorgeous views of the canyons just off the ocean.,
I am so glad you experienced the wonder. Memories to last a lifetime დ
Spectacular!!
Grazie mille Dana დ
These images from the helicopter are awesome, say the least.
So appreicated Amy & thanks much! დ
Beautiful work, as always, Cindy.
Thank you very much Raymond & cheers to you დ
so very gorgeous!
Merci beaucoup mon Ami Rebecca დ
Oh, wow! So much beauty and wonder. It is a vision of paradise. Thanks.
Yes! Unspoiled paradise as it should be. Only 8000 people live in Moloka’i დ
Wow, I need to relocate there in the future. People don’t realize how blessed are the simple surrounded by God’s best creations.
So very true.
A beautiful landscape.
Thank you. Moloka’i is stunning. დ
I would have gone along in a heartbeat.
A kindred soul is wonderful to meet დ
Wow!! Just Wow!!
Love that word and you made it twice as nice! დ დ
I’ll go! Ha!
Good on you!! დ
So beautiful Cindy. Hawaii is the best. Molokai and lanai are the only 2 i haven’t been to. 💖
Thank you Cindy. Lanai has long been my favorite island, but now Molokai is sharing first place. I hope you visit both დ
So awesome to know. If you get a chance do visit Niihau a fav of mine. 💖💖
How wonderful that you have been there Cindy. We seem to share more than just a name. Stay safe & well.
Thanks and yes we do-:)
💕❤️💕
Awww amazing views of Moloka’i from the sky. Keep soaring, my friend! ( •ॢ◡-ॢ)-❤️❤️❤️🌈
Smiling! Thank you so much დ
(ŐωŐ人)❤️🌈
I read a book as a child called Molokai. It was about lepers who were sent to the island to protect the main population. It is lovely to see such a spectacular site as it is today
Such heartbreaking history. Several patients still live on the island by choice. You might find this interesting: https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2015/05/when-the-last-patient-dies/394163/
Thanks Cindy I’ll check it out.
WOW – such wonderful photographs and I would definitely have come with you:). Thank youX
Thank you very much Janet and good for you! Nothing ventured, nothing gained დ
Cindy, the brave adventurer!!
Great photos – but I fear I would have stayed in with your family…good on you!!
I understand completely. But for me, it was just pure fun დ
Beautiful, Cindy! I’ve always wanted to do a helicopter ride there. Maybe one day …
Oh, I hope you do! It is so worth it. If you do, please post about it. I would love to hear about your experience დ
Wow!! Who knew there was such a color? The green and the blue intertwined… gorgeous!
Thank you Jessica. It was simply breathtaking დ
You’re welcome. You’re an amazing photographer. Seem to have such an eye for nature. 🙂
So kind of you Jessica. And so appreciated too. Thank you.
Fabulous captures. I love the colour of the different shades of blues and greens in the water.
Thank you. I was stunned by how beautiful it was from a bird’s eye view დ
Wow, lucky you! Such beautiful pictures. Maggie
Thank you very much Maggie & cheers to you დ
I’ve never been in a helicopter (doors or no!), so I’m fascinated by your experience. What a beautiful place to soar above — and I’m eagerly looking forward to more. Being land-locked here, I sometimes *hunger* for water views. Sigh.
So pleased you enjoyed Debbie. I had never been in one either. It was incredibly fun and I want to do more of it დ
I might have to show you some of my helicopter photos. 🙂
They would make a great post დ
spectacular photos, Cindy! All those different blues are so beautiful! BTW, I was gone for a while so I just recently saw your comment about wishing I could teach art to your little grandsons! Oh, how I’d love that, too! I am so honored that you would say that! Thank you!
Well it is absolutley the truth and so very well deserved on your part. They would so love to be your students. You have talent and gentleness which are double blessings დ
Wow! It looks incredible!
It was wonderful. I was scared beforehand, but not the tiniest bit during. And now I am going to do more of it! დ
Hello Cindy.
I want to send you a photo. Please send me a “test mail” to my address.>>> eb3481@gmail.com <<<
Will do.
Oh my gosh, Cindy! Your pictures are breathtaking! And I don’t understand your family. My husband and I went on a helicopter ride in Kuai and it was the best experience ever, Unfortunately we were four passengers and no doors were open so my pictures are NOTHING like yours!
I am so glad you experienced this Dale! It is incredible isn’t it. The no doors part was awesome. You could feel the wind and banked turns had you looking straight down into the sea. My daughter is going on the next one with me დ
So wonderful. I am truly jealous about the no doors thing. So cool!
Stunning photos, Cindy!
Merci beaucoup mon Ami Eugenia დ
How very stunning! Enjoy! oxox
Thank you very much! დ
Thank you for sharing these amazing shots of the Island. 🙂
Thank you for appreciating them my kind friend დ
Amazing, Cindy!!!!!
Just spectacular.
Fear of death might be why others did not go with you. ❦
Yes. Exactly. I was fearful beforehand too, but it was the opposite of a fearful experience. It was peaceful transcedence. My daughter wants to go on the next one with me! I hope she finds it to be the same დ
დდდ
You really got the birds eye view. Gorgeous!
I like hanging out where the birdies fly! Thank you Jennie დ
You do! And we followers reap the rewards. 🙂
Wow. Incredible! We did a heli tour on Kauai ages ago. (Incredible.)
It is an incredible experience isn’t it. It is now my goal to do more of these over amazing locations. I’ve already booked one with my daughter. She’s gutsy….. დ
😱😂😎
Very brave and living your best life BRAVO!!!!!
Life must be lived! I am tired of putting life on hold. Hugs to you Eunice დ
Good for you go get it!
I love the colours of the water!
Omg Cindy. Absolutely breathtaking! I would have gone with you in a heartbeat! <3
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!!!
Wow the colour of water, amazing!!!
Isn’t the ocean gorgeous. I have a photo of a lone sailboat in the middle of all the reefs in the cerulean sea. Sigh. I want to be on that boat! დ
Haha me too!

Reblogged this on Mitch Teemley and commented:
My Featured Blogger this week is Cindy Knoke, photographer extraordinaire, whose images typically emanate from her home, “the Holler,” in rural California (yes, there is such a thing). But in this case, they’re a birds-eye view of paradise, namely the Hawaiian island of Moloka’i (“land of abundance”). They’re refreshing just to look at. Imagine being there!
I am deeply touched by your thoughtfulness Mitch. Thank you so very much & God Bless! დ
Stunning photography! Makes us want to book a trip immediately.
Thanks so much. I am definitely planning more doors off heli experiences. It is an incredible vista დ
Just stunning! I had a helicopter ride once… as a pretend accident victim from the local airport to the local hospital!
Thanks much Jules. That must have been very interesting დ
Different fire crews practice plane crash rescue.
Keeps every one on their toes! 🙂
I bet it does.
🙂
Unique place, unique colours, everything is unique there. Paradise on the Earth!
Very true. No traffic lights. Not much tourism. Lightly populated and unspoiled coral reefs დ
🌹
What a wonderful flight ✈️ I would have gone with you…though not too sure about the no door bit!!
It was really an incredible experience which I now plan to do again in other places. Who needs doors? 😉 😉
No one Cindy! Doors are totally unnecessary and should be permanently disgarded😉…you know what they say about what goes on behind closed doors!!🚪 🤣
Laughing……Now I am suddenly thinking why I might be needing doors!!! 😉 😉
A helicopter w the doors off??? My stomach is queezy just thinking about it… but it looks amazing and fun and I would of went w you!
So nice, and brave, of you Kerri! Thanks so much დ
Fantastic experience Cindy!!❤
Yes! Very much so. I plan to do more of it დ
We are also fortunate to have a glimpse of them too!!
