The Klamath River Estuary is where the 257 mile Klamath River empties into the sea in the community of Requa California.

Requa is located,

on Yurok Native Land.

Portions of Redwood National Park lie within these Yurok lands.

Jim provides perspective.

This is Northern California wilderness,

centered around the wild Klamath River.

The Yurok’s are California’s largest Native American tribe with a population of nearly 5000.

Their territory extends about 40 miles up river. Click to enlarge and you can see the small community of Requa on the left bank of the river.
Cheers to you from Klamath River and Requa California, in Yurok Country~

Beautiful Nature is around you there.
Wow… Jim tends to “0” versus trees. 🙂
Thank you Alexander and yes these trees put us humans in proper perspective! დ

Please enjoy these lovely photographs from Cindy Knoke!
Thank you for your kind, thoughtful friendship Charles. You are very much appreciated დ
Are those seals or sea lions?
Smart question. These are harbor seals. The easiest way I tell them apart on land, is that sea lions can stand up on their flippers when they move, and seals just sort of shrug along!! 😉
Ah! Good to know.

Just wow…
Awwww…… Means a lot. Thank you Chandra დ

What wonderful scenery and the redwoods are enormous!
Thank you Clare. These are not the oldest/biggest. The truly old growth forests are gentle giants დ
I would love to see them one day <3
I hope you do. It is a humbling experience with living things so much bigger and so much older than us დ
<3
What a beautiful place, Cindy. I was overwhelmed when I went to Muir Woods to see the redwoods. Love the wee fat seals!
So happy you have experienced a redwood forest Kerry and the chubby-tubby seals are cuties aren’t they! Cheers to you and thanks for stopping by 😉
I was born in San Francisco but left when I was a child that made me long for Redwoods!
I fully understand that. California has so many problems, but she is very hard to leave permanently დ

God’s beautiful creation! დ
Magnificent, just like always. The quality of your pictures is really amazing.
Awww….I feel exactly the same about you Inese. Thank you my friend დ
A feast for the eyes. The redwoods are so beautiful and lush. I’ve just watched a news story about the drought in California, so it’s good to see that some areas are still verdant. I follow a gal on instagram, she’s in the UK and her folk live coastal. I’ve fallen totally in love with the sweet faces of sea lions she’s photographed. They look like puppy dogs of the ocean 💛 xK
Beautiful. Have always dreamt about the Redwoods, of someday making it there. The longest day will have deepest breathes under them. Thanks for sharing Cindy.
I very much hope, and do suspect, your dream will come true დ
