Hovering in mid flight,

reaching speeds of 60 mph,

with a tongue that is longer than their body,

the only bird in the world that can fly backwards and upside down,

weighing about a tenth of an ounce,

and battling for turf and territory daily with their lethal spear beaks,

hummers are flying,

works of art,

with attitudes!
Cheers to you from The Holler Hummers~

Marvelous and look at picture #3!
You caught it in the process of feeding, that’s when i have seen the beak extension/ tongue?
Yes the tongue. So amazing isn’t it and it functions as a straw! დ
“a straw.” That made me chuckle, but it’s the truth.

Beautiful. Are they the same as the humming birds?
Yes. Colibiri is the Spansh word for hummingbird. Most of the three hundred species of hummingbirds lived in Mexico, Central and South America დ
Okay. Thanks for the info.

Wowwwwwwwwwwwww supernatural photos 😉 😉 😉
The hummer pix are as good as any I have seen, and I have seen a lot. (Also took a few long ago, but they were not worth much.) Glad to see that U refrain from the silliness of adding red dye to the sugar water in the feeders.
Thank you very much. Your thoughts are much appreciated დ

It’s amazing these birds get up so close, the red feathers on one of the necks looks like sequins very pretty.
Birds are gorgeous creatures which is why people have often worn their feathers. დ
