I found Bambi grazing on a lawn in Washington state!

He was surrounded by very watchful adults.

The adults were a bit wary of humans,

but Bambi was pure curiosity!

This adult had a massive yet cleanly healed scar that transversed her right side and formed a y flap crossing over her shoulder. This was a major injury that cut through lots of muscle. I wonder if a good samaritan veterinarian stitched her up?

Cheers to you from the peaceful, and very dear-deer~

Amazing!
Happy you like them & thank you!
Great shots! They look bigger than our Eastern not so dear deer! 🙂
Happy you enjoyed & thanks for stopping by~
Peaceful ineed … and hoping for continued safe travels.
Thank you Frank and cheers to you my friend~
Wonderful photos, they are such beautiful animals! ❤️🙏🏻
Yes they are, and peaceful and graceful too. <3
I’m glad someone cared for her injuries. That’s what important. Nice pictures.
I respect you for thinking caring for deer is important. Thank you Darnell.
👍
What I remember most about my trips to Washington state were the cherry blossoms, waterfalls and deer — and everything was so lush and green. The baby deer were very curious, but the parents were very cautious. Brings back memories.
Yep, the fauns haven’t had enough experience with humans yet to learn to mistrust us.
You just made my day. Thank you. I’m so happy the deer healed and is fine. Someone had to have helped her with a wound that serious. <3
Awwww, happy day my friend. I heard rumors about a person who feeds and supports the deer when they give birth, so my guess goes in that direction.

Crystal clear photos…I can even see the grizzle on the hairs!
Thank you & cheers too!
I love dear and get quite excited when I see them on the lawns in Medicine Hat, Alberta. A common sight there.
Oh, lucky you! I love them too, but they are not common at all where I live because the coyote packs scare them away. We are heading to Manitoba soon and I hope to see more of them.
Have a great trip to Manitoba! I’m sure you will see some deer there.
I hope so, and polar bears and belugas, and maybe snowy owls too! Hoping…..
Wonderful shots, as always.
Ahh, so appreciated.! Thank you.
So beautiful. How wonderful that someone helped heal her wound.🙏🏻
Yes. Despite all the terribly bad news, the good news is, good people do so much good, every day, without anyone noticing.
So adorable, people are nice. great pictures.
Most people in this world are kind <3
Gladly and hopefully.:-)
<3 <3
When we lived in the country and had 75 acres full of wildlife and fish, watching the deer was a favorite thing to do. I have tons of pictures – it was fun to see the does, bucks and fawns all getting along, at least most of the year 🙂
That is a big piece of property and I can well imagine how much the wildlife meant to you. Cheers to you & thanks for stopping by~
Aren’t they lovely?
Unfortunately, we found a dead fawn [very likely hit by a car] on our property last night. I did not bury it, though, but just took it out of our sight and left it there in the open, hoping that our vultures will take care of it.
Ahhh, that is sad. Deers are lovely, graceful creatures. The very necessary and helpful vultures will be grateful you left this for them.
The vultures are already taking care of it.
You helped them, and they help you.
🙂
It looks like the deer feel right at home around your yard. As sweet as they are, they can be quite a nuisance when they get into your garden. Have a great day, Cindy!
Thank you Peter & cheers to you my friend~
These shots are incredible, so intimate. Beautiful…
Awwww, touched. Thank you very much.
Of course! 🙂
<3 <3
Deer that live close to town have a very hard time. You got some nice closeups here.
Yes. They get hit by cars and harrassed.
They are so lovely. 🙂
<3 <3
They’re so adorable! Thank you for sharing these dear deer with us Cindy! 🙂💖 xxx
Your comment makes me smile. Thank you more for appreciating these dears.
What a lovely animal Cindy. Our young deer have big spots on them.
Leslie
This is an older fawn, who has lost his spots. Those newborn vulnerable fawn who still have their spots….They are so precious.
It seems impossible to me, to not love all of them.
They have the most compelling eyes….
Big brown Bambi eyes <3
just what I needed after a hectic day, your post and the deer, bliss!!! thank you my dear…I so
Ohh, lots of lots of love to you sweet friend, and thank you so much too <3
Dear are beautiful creatures, as shown in your amazing photos, but I wish they would stay out of my flower beds.
Laughing…..
I know! I spend so much time gardening and growing things. And I watch so many critters consume so much of what I grow here at The Holler. I shop at the grocery store. They shop at The Holler. Laughing….more.
It’s all good. Imagine if they weren’t here. They bug me sometimes, but it would be so much worse if someone killed them because they belong here.
Oh, I would hate for someone to kill them. I just wish they’d find someone else’s garden to munch on.
I hear you & I understand <3
Oh what adorable babies! 🦌💕
Yes. Makes me smile. Just so sweet <3
A beauty of animals. All tenderness their looks. The photos, of the best. And so close to you. You are lucky to enjoy them.
I am so much more happy that you SEE the beauty of animals and the tenderness in their looks. Thank you <3

Aww, so cute! A couple days ago we found a baby deer in one of our blackberry bushes. He was sleeping, but still SO adorable!
Oh yes, sooo adorable! I would love to see this. Sometimes mama leaves them sleeping quietly away from her, so she can graze and keep them safe. They are beautiful creatures.
Curious and unbelievable too. :-)) Michael
They are amazing creatures <3
❤❤
Dear Cindy,
It does seem Bambi has released itself from being imprisoned in a book, it wants to know first hand why we all love her so much. I guess the mystery is solved now, it’s time for it to go to the comforts of the pages of the book and delight generations of sweet little kids forever! 🙂
Awww, my sweet friend, you just made my <3 smile! She is surprised we love her, but every child who ever read about her does, and at least in the pages of the book, she is safe forever. Love to you <3
They are beautiful! 😍😍😍
They are such stunning creatures <3
I love the level of detail you were able to get with your photos! Deer are regular visitors at my place. I refer to them as DWA (Deer with Attitude). They just look up from eating the hostas and stare us down: Yeah, I’m eating your hostas. You wanna make sumthin’ of it? Ah well, they were here first.
Laughing, a lot….I watched them eating someone’s vegetable garden. I specifically said, quite clearly, several times, “You are not supposed to do that!” It had the exact effect you would imagine. They are funny creatures. They seemed more nervous when I silently took their photos, then when I told them to stop eating the veggies. So here’s what I’m thinking. When you next see them eating your hostas, creep oh so slowly, and oh so stilly, and just stand there, perfectly still, preferably with a camera, looking at them intently. I think it will unnerve them, and at least slow down the hosta consumption….a bit.
Really beautiful.
They are such lovely creatures in all ways….
Yes, indeed.
<3
OMG! Grazing on a lawn! No respect!!
The trick is to keep them on the lawn and out of the vegetables. They were really going to town on the vegetable….
How wonderful,to have so much wildlife on your doorstep. Thanks for sharing Cindy.
Thank you more for appreciating the creatures <3

I don’t know. It could be that, or maybe, she was hit by a car.
Very pretty pictures. 🙂
Thank you.
Beautiful … I love these pics … see, human and animal can co-exist … just need to take the guns out of man’s hands. Thank you for sharing these gorgeous pics!
Yep. I am with you 100% sister <3
Baby animals are super cute, this one is no exception!
Yes, and his insatiable curiosity makes him even more appealing.
Gorgeous! (And thanks to the kind vet.)
Good people doing kind things everyday <3
They seem to be such delicate and graceful creatures, all healthy with wet noses.
Yes, delicate, graceful, and peaceful with soulful eyes <3
Beautifully amazing

We live in a city but have a stream behind our house. The deer are ALWAYS there. I wish I could capture such wonderful shots!
We used to live in a house like that. It’s wonderful isn’t it! <3
It really is, our first ‘visitors’ when we moved in were a few deer who startled the jeebers out of me when I was unloading groceries my first night there. I think they were hoping to be invited in for dinner!
Laughing…..Just watch out for the peaceful grazers in rutting season…. Elk are incredible and dangerous during rut, but then so are elephants…I have gotten in the midst of both. You just definitely want to avoid being in between a male and the object of their affection…. Laughing more~
I’m fairly certain I can avoid the Elk and the Elephants where I live!!!! 😂
Laughing……
