Aspens are my favorite trees at this time fo year. Walking in that golden light and under that golden canopy must have been awesome. It lifted me today … as I wait for our colors to change in the next few days 💛 thanks Cindy 💛
You are so right. The sound of wind in the trees in the mountains in every season is so incredibly beautiful, but the quaking of the Aspens is the most beautiful sound of all. <3
You and Nathaniel Hawthorne think alike!! Hugs

I really miss not being able to walk properly. Many of my formative adolescent years were spent roaming round the Pennines with my mate Andy. The Pennines are bleak but majestic, my spiritual home. I also always loved woods in the autumn. When your knees are knackered, a lot of your world disappears. But the photos remind me
I can well imagine the memories that last forever from a childhood spent exploring that magnificent landscape. I hope you retreat there in your mind when you are quiet. It is one of the wonderful things about good memories, they are always there to draw upon. I know exactly what you mean about your spiritual home. Mine is in the natural spaces too. I am truly sorry about your knee and limited mobility. This would be very difficult to live with and you have my empathy.
It snowed as we were leaving tuolumne meadows, and snowed all night, and then was sunny all day. The mountain peaks are still covered in snow. It is such a relief from the drought.
Autumnal greetings, Cindy! Love the post & all your pics!
Will you be doing a Hallow’een post?
I’ve saved up about 16 street art skulls. Brrr, I’m becoming chilled, terrified of my own post!
It was an amazing, golden festival of light here, dear Cindy! 💖
One of my first truly Fall photos I shared this year were yellow trees in a Cleveland, Ohio woods. Some doubted they had appeared yet, but I do think the yellows are the “heralds to Autumn.” Your whole post was simply lovely!! xo 💐
Hugs, Robin
I just love those colors. Here I am sitting in Connecticut where I was hoping for a lot of New England leaf peeping and the trees have hardly began to change. –Curt
Great shots. You have some good light there. It’s a bit polluted around London. You a have inspired to go for a little trip the next time we have some sun. 🙂
Oh please do go. I have never been in England in the fall. I know a bit about how the leaves change there. I would so love to see the photos and read your perceptions.
Fantastic photos. We don’t get autumn colours in North Cyprus and I do miss them. But then I remember the cold weather, and am glad to look at photos but not to actually be there! PS – I can’t “like” your photos as WordPress is going off its face and won’t let me.
Golden wonders, Cindy! No colours here yet…
Can’t wait to see your photos!
Wow…Just what I needed this dreary rainy Saturday afternoon…looks amazing and I’m sighing in awe! Wonderful photos, Cindy! 😀
Awww, such a lovely comment makes me happy I posted!
OMG Cindy the last photo is brilliant – I could stare at it all day long! Thank you thank you!
Thank you more for such kind appreciation <3
LOVE the fall colours.
So happy you do!
Aaaah gorgeous Aspen. The trees look wonderful. I wonder if they are silver birches?
They make such beautiful forest glens. Aspen are the most prevalent up here, but there are also willow and cottonwood trees.
Schöne Herbstfotos. Wolfgang
Vielen danke Wolfgang und Frohe Wochenende mein Freund~ 🍂
Beautiful views Cindy – all of them 🙂
Thanks my friend and happy weekend! 🍂
I love the golden aspens and your photos. 🙂

Yes, autumn is my favorite time of year. There is this sense of expectation and hush…….

The mountains do add a special touch, Cindy.
Leslie
The beloved Sierras make everything beautiful~ 🍂
🙂
All that is missing is the sound….what a beautiful sound the Aspen leaves blowing in the wind make! Beautiful photos, thank you Cindy!
You are so right. The sound of wind in the trees in the mountains in every season is so incredibly beautiful, but the quaking of the Aspens is the most beautiful sound of all. <3
Beautiful.
🍂 <3
Glorious! Happy autumn, Cindy. 🙂
🍂🍂

Ahhhhh, he is so right!!!!! 🍂
A dream …I would love to venture down that path. Aspens are truly beautiful and you have captured these scenes perfectly.
Thank you. There is something about the imagery of an inviting path that opens our hearts and our minds.
Yes, they are so beautiful and a bit mysterious too.

It’s also I miss the conversations with my mate Andy. They helped to form me, just as did the landscape.
Simply gorgeous.
Grazie!
Wow stunning
Mother Nature give the most amazing gifts!
For sure

I wanna be there right now!! Gorgeous!
Beam over and lets GO!!!
Those are quite precious gold! We need them to keep our environment safe and sound.
Yes we do. Living gold is the most precious <3
I want to walk through those woods!
I want to join you! 🍂
Stunning!!
Thank you!
Wondrous light and color! And the “cottage by the lake” motif brings back great memories of fall in NH…
My parents lived in NH for many years. So incredibly beautiful in the fall 🍂
Enjoy the beauty… thank you for sharing some of it with us!
We need beauty to carry us through <3
Yes!
Gorgeous light! I can see pockets of snow from last winter that never melted. I wonder what this winter will bring to the high Sierras?
It snowed as we were leaving tuolumne meadows, and snowed all night, and then was sunny all day. The mountain peaks are still covered in snow. It is such a relief from the drought.

As you know, you are experiencing one of many magnificent areas of our West. Well done.
Oh yes. This is home. 🍂
Loved this visit to the glowing Sierras, Cindy — thank you.
So happy you came along with me! 🍂
Cindy, these are just stunning! I especially like the one with the yellows on the “ceiling” and the yellow drops on the “floor.”
It felt like being encased in light! 🍂
Lovely autumn photos, Cindy. God blesses us with the spectacle of brilliant colors before the stark days of winter.
Yes, indeed and it is such a wonderful gift!

Oh that does look high Sierra! Beautiful scenery and colours.
Our beloved Sierra! It is so good to see her with snow still left from last winter~
Beautiful season! I also love the fragrance of autumn.
I love this too and the feeling of expectancy in the air~ 🍂
Glorious nature masterfully presented!
You are a lovely friend! 🍂
What a lovely day for you, definitely cobweb clearing!
Yes, A California Sierra mountain high!
Excellent theme … and the second pic was an Ahhhh … moment! 🙂
Thank you Frank. I’m happy you joined me! 🍂

That happened to me too. We went for the fall colors and they hadn’t yet fallen!
Yeah, darn trees. 🙂 BTW, Burning Man had several tree sculptures this year, one representing Methuselah from the White Mountains.
I just saw her. She may not even be the oldest, although she is over 5000 years old…..
An old girl, indeed.
🙂
That’s golden alright! 🙂 <3
Yes. Mother Nature rocks!
She sure does, especially when she’s not angry. 🙂
When she’s angry there is no where to hide…..
🙂

If we get a sunny day. Has to happen, it must. Stands to reason. I’ll ask the Queen. Lol 🙂
Ask the Queen, and while you’re at it, ask her if you can have one of her swans for your garden……..
https://media.giphy.com/media/NBDISwuo1FKBa/giphy.gif
Well I suppose she might spare a chaffinch. 🙂
Ask her for a moat, for the swan. Moats are good. I wish we had one at The Holler. She can keep the chaffinch…..
Oh I don’t know. They say the corgis eat human flesh. 😀
No wonder they call them ankle biters and She has LOTS of them!
One of my favorite posts yet Cindy!! The sky and water so brilliant and the vibrant trees!! I just want to be in this place! Love it. xo
I wish you could beam over Rhonda and we could go for a stroll….
It’s surely a fairy forest. Exquisite.
Aww, very happy you enjoyed!
Taken these shots most have been a beautiful walk, great set!
It was indeed and thank you John!

One of my favorite trees any time of year. Wonderful golden photos. <3
Thanks my friend and they are such old clonal communities of trees, which makes them even more special~
That’s right, I forgot that. Amazing.
<3
Well, it seems it’s not only London where the roads are paved with gold. 😉 What a beautiful spot. Have you been fishing?
I grew up with a fishing brother and have done it in my life, but not by choice!! Laughing…..I always feel too sorry for the fish.
Laughing with you.
<3
Your photos are stunning Cindy. I miss seeing the glorious colours of autumn. You have captured that beautiful golden light.
The light, and the whole hushed sense of expectancy makes autumn my favorite time of you. All the best to you & Jack~
I loved those colors.
