I’ve told you before, The Holler is ‘for the birds.’

And this is just how we like it!

Check out the cheeky, chirpy ones.

The beep-beep felt like a photo-op today,

and even forgot to run away!

He actually posed and beeped, vain meeper!

The mocking bird was in modeling mode, although still a very coy boy.

Cheers to you from The Holler and the world’s best neighbors~

You do have wonderful neighbors. They’re full of charm and a bit of cheek. That first little red bird is looking right at me, sizing me up. Delightful photos!
They have such personality and they are always watching us! So many times when I focus in on a bird they are already watching me!
It would be wonderful to have a bird translator. I’m glad they commune with you regularly, Cindy.
I imitate so many bird calls now from living at The Holler. I talk with the Great Horned Owls, The Ravens, The Red Tails, and The Mocking Birds. The mocking birds are fun because they imitate new sounds and the owls love long nightime conversations and sometimes a rival owl will swoop by my head at night, checking out the potential competition!
Lovely! I really like the roadrunner!
The roadrunners are the most entertaining birds! My son calls them our pets and that is about right. They own The Holler!
Beautiful in every way.
So appreciative and honored!
You are so good at capturing birds. Beautiful Cindy!
Awwww, thank you, it’s a labor of love!
I can tell!
^^’
I love roadrunners! Are the top ones house finches or purple finches? The lighting was really neat, too!
Roadrunner are moving entertainment centers! 😀 The top guys are house finches. Cheers & thanks for stopping by Teresa~

By the way, Cindy, I made the point about recipes being guidelines a good three years ago. https://messingaboutinthekitchen.wordpress.com/2012/12/13/the-last-post/
I am not at all surprised! We are in accord on this my friend~

Amazing birds! Wonderful.
Awww, so glad you like them too & thank you!
love the photos…I miss the roadrunners and the quail of Arizona 🙂
I can well imagine! We have the quail too and I love them immensely~ <3
Wonderful! 🙂
So glad you enjoyed! <3
Such wonderful photos! I really enjoyed the road runner – we used to see them all the time when we lived in Southern California, but they’ve largely disappeared with the population and housing explosion.
So sad, I saw them a lot as a kid too in places they no longer live. Thankfully a group of them are thriving at The Holler!
Such a lovely blue backdrop for your photos Cindy. How are the hummers these days?
The year round hummingbirds are doing very well, mostly Annas and things are quite peaceful. I thought I would showcase some other feathered friends for a bit, but the hummer will be baaaaack! 😉
I’ll look forward to seeing them again…
Awesome! The one in the middle with the mohawk look pretty cool! 🙂
Thank you! They raise and lower those mohawks in response to God knows what!! 😉 😉
Wonderful photos, Cindy. What gorgeous birds you get there at the Holler. 🙂
I’m getting some more for you, woodpeckers, western blue birds, western jays, there are whole bunches of species I am working on in our oak groves. I wonder why I never did this before? I put chairs in different areas and am amazed at what I am seeing!
Excellent pics… gorgeous birds, dear Cindy… Happy friday and weekend ahead. . 🙂
All the best to you!, Aquileana 😀
Wonderful to hear from you and happy weekend to you. Heading over to your blog to see what’s new~
Wonderful photos, Cindy, and what great neighbors to have. The roadrunner photos are especially dazzling.
The roadrunners are definitely dazzling critters! No wonder Disney made them :star: s!
Did you have an ACME camera to catch that roadrunner with?
How did you know? 😉
Hi Cindy! Loved the birds especially the roadrunner! 😀 xx
Roadrunners are the most entertaining of birds!
“How sweet it is!” in the Holler!
Home is often this way! Happy Friday Resa~ <3
Wonderful, photos that show the beautiful of nature. 🙂
So pleases you enjoyed them my friend and happy weekend!
How did you catch that beep, Cindy? I am so envious of your skills. We have few roadrunners around us and I am always chasing them but never get a decent shot. What are the little birds?
It is entirely up to the roadrunner. When he decides he wants some photoplay, he’ll pose. Ours have been posing a lot lately, but certainly not much before this! I would suggest ignoring the roadrunners when you are out and about. This offends them and they come closer! 😉 They are hilarious. The little guys are house finch.
Does that work with handsome guys, too? 🙂 I will try ignoring them and see what happens. I have seen the house finch before but didn’t recognize them although the beak is distinctive.
What a beautiful gallery! Thank you so much Cindy, I will have that smile on my face until the end of the day 🙂
Awwww, that makes the post more than worthwhile for me! <3
Brilliant images, Cindy!
Thank you Indah and Happy Sunday!
So good to be back and catching up on your posts! Love your little birds! 🙂
Wonderful to hear from you Linda and I look forward to hearing more about your new home and new place! <3
Better you’re for the birds than gone to the dogs. LOL
Well we have packs of coyotes, so that could be my next post! 😉
I knew it couldn’t be long… LOL
At least I’m done with rattlesnakes until they come out of hibernation in March!
I dream of photographing a roadrunner sprinting through a desert, while lightning strikes the horizon in the distance.
What a fascinating, archetypal dream. You must go to the desert in the winter rainy season and see if your dream comes to fruition!
Awesome bird pictures. I will use some of them in our next newsletter! 🙂
BTW…..Where is The Holler?
I am honored! Thank you so much~
The holler is for the birds!
Laughing….Yes! 😉 <3
Beautiful photos. I love watching birds, especially around our lake. We have everything from hummingbirds and goldfinch to herons.
Sounds like The Holler. Love them too and Happy Sunday!
I have to wonder how those little guys allow you get close enough that they don’t flinch, and some of them look as though they’re striking a pose, lol. Beautiful photography Cindy. <3
Some of them have been infected by the selfie craze I fear. They want their photos posted on the internet. Sigh……….
LOL 🙂
Mockingbirds may not be the most pretty bird in the woods, but they sure can sing a sweet tune, Cuz. Loved the finches too 🙂
I have loved mockingbirds since I was a little kid and watched two of them repeatedly pick up and drop a rattlesnake on my path. They saved me!
With what you’ve just said in mind, I like them even more !!! 🙂
<3 <3
The birds of a feather are wonderfully caught in your lens, Cindy. They charm me and give me happy feelings. You are so kind to share with us and spread the joy so far and wide. 🙂
You deserve charm and happiness Robin, because you create so much of it for others~ <3
Beautiful birds Cindy, so amazing! thanks for showing us these birds wow
I am just very pleased that you enjoyed them Lyn! <3
I looked at them when I was out on my phone but that did not do them justice! Amazing!
