I want to go back to the Christmas Market to shop and eat. I would buy some of these aromatic dried fruit and spice hangars for myself and my friends. They smell and look divine. I couldn’t buy any because there was no room in my suitcase.
They also have soap and bath salt hangars that would make your bath smell heavenly.

Eating is the principal reason I want to go back to the Christmas Market! The hot off the grill lokse or potato pancakes were ridiculously good.
The piping hot langos, which are garlic fried potato flatbread, were out of this world.

Top it off with a cup of hot, spiced, mulled wine, in a variety of flavors, and you can see why I want to beam back there right now! That was my cup of spiced red wine you are looking at.

They had all sorts of fabulous foods and I would like to have time to try them all!

The ice rink in the old town center was getting readied for holiday skating.

Bratislava is a browsers paradise,

with quaint streets, wonderful shops,

and delicious restaurants.

There is beautiful architecture,

and fascinating history to keep your mind occupied.
Cheers to you from surprising Bratislava~

Now I’m ready for my dinner! Wonderful post, never been but would like to go one day….
I hope you do, and save room for desert!
Woooooow!!! It looks so delicious and sweet and absolut beautiful. The shops are marvellous. 🙂
It was such a treat to be there for the outdoor market!
Now, we know your secret. You only travel to eat wonderful food. 🙂
Don’t tell anyone but it is one of the major reasons I keep going back to Europe! 🙂
Wow, what a treat it was to enjoy Bratislava with you, Cindy. The food really grabbed me too. It’s delightfully free of calories when enjoyed here. ;D
Yes, no calories and no air travel, the best of both worlds!
What a fabulous tour with you Cindy. I shall have one of those piping hot langos please and thank you. 🙂
Red or white hot mulled wine to go with????
Sounds perfect! 🙂
Cindy, you’re killin’ me with all the pics of potato pancakes and other such stuff. The rest is pretty too…, but now you’ve REALLY made me hungry for potato pancakes and no one around here makes them (sells them). Guess I’ll have to get out the cookbook again !!! Made Russian Teacakes tonight to share over the Christmas holidays. Hugs ! 🙂
I make Russian tea cakes every Christmas (must be a Barton thing) and I make some rocking good potato pancakes. When you coming over for dinner cuz?
Guess I’m too late for tonight, but…., California is a good vacation destination. 😉
Come on over cuz, I’ll introduce you to the hawks and hummingbirds!
Wish we could smell and taste stuff on the Internet, Cindy — these look amazing!!
I wonder how long it will be before you can turn an aromatic computer option on/off?
Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures. I think it’s time for a snack.😁
I am a very bad influence I am afraid, but hey, it’s the holidays! Enjoy!
LOL. Thank you Cindy. Blessings and peace. Stay safe.☺
Blessings back to you my friend~ <3
The langos reminded me of mother’s potato dough perogies.
Great series and now I am hungry,….. again. 😀
I know, I only can get away with posting this over the holidays since people are going to partake anyway! Enjoy~
Ummmm, sounds delicious!
The best stuffing is sour kraut mixed with fried onion and bacon or else for the hearty, buckwheat with the bacon & onion. 😀
Oh my gosh, I am all ove the sour kraut with fried onion and bacon! Let’s beam over there now and get some……
So colourful and looks so tasty too. You would have to do a lot of walking after eating all those goodies Cindy
Yes, and that is just what I did! Plus Jim and I split everything so that helps as well….Happy Holidays Pauline!
Jack and I often share meals or just have an entre. Walking uses a lot of calories…
Yes, it makes a huge difference, literally, in our waistlines!
Glorious sights! Thank you! Pip
Thank you more for the kind appreciation!
Bonito y colorista mercado. Apetece probar todas las “delicatessen” que están ofreciendo. Disfruta del momento, amiga. <3
Si, si me quedaba en este en el mercado mucho tiempo, me gustaría conseguir grasa! Felice Nazidad mi amiga~
Bratislava looks like a place I’d love to visit. Until I read this post I didn’t know much about that city. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos.
Yes, it is rather an undiscovered, but most worthwhile city and country!
It really makes my mouth water looking at the food! 😀
This was my holiday bad influence post!! 😉 😉
Do your worst! We only live once! 😀
So true!
Looks like they have some tasty things to make from potatoes. What a fun place to visit.
It was a wonderful surprise!
Reblogged this on penpowersong.

Ok! Ok! Please! Wolfie is currently starving and dinner is taking a scarily long time to be caught and cooked! Such mouth watering sights are tortorous right now!! 😀 Slurp! Slobber! !
Well, if I ever get back from space, we can all beam over there. But frankly, I think Wolfie and you should go now on your own, because what I am seening so far out here in outer, outer space, is so awesome I don’t think I ever want to come back to planet earth. I want to keep on boldly going where no one has gone before…..Thank you so much for sending me here! <3
Hmm! I suppose it could take you a while before you get back from way out there in outer, outer space! lol 🙂 You’re very welcome! I hope you continue to enjoy your trip and photographic extravaganza!! 🙂
I am having the time of my life thanks entirely to you! <3 <3
Great post, Cindy! I fully understand your desire to be beamed back. I too love that hot spiced red wine at Christmas time…need to make some tomorrow 🙂
It is the first time I tried some and I am now a convert! It tastes especially well where it is very cold though.
Hi Cindy. Slovakia isn’t on my travel radar, but you have definitely piqued my interest!
Excellent! I love piquing interest. It is a fascinating place.
Ohhhhh, this looks like an awesome place. Super cute. When were you there?
We were there at the end of November. I bet the snow and ice rink are in full force now!
Hi Cindy
Thank you for your good wishes, also wish you a Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

It is terrible, but I am so distracted by the meteorite showers that I can’t even concentrate on Bratslava, well I can concentrate on the food. This NASA food sucks, still I don’t think I ever want to come back to planet earth. I have never had such an amazing trip……Thank you so much for convincing me to go! I hope Tom is okay.
Wow, so festive! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you more for appreciating and Happy Holidays!
Have a wonderful time, Cindy!
I am home now, but it was a wonderful time and thank you my friend~ <3

Every Christmas party needs something spicy and aromatic and these photograph of exotic markets are perfect.. thanks Cindy Knoke.
Thanks my friend for your thoughtfulness. I really wish I had bought some, especially because I cannot find out anything about them now that I am home!
Awwww memories..gluewein ahhhhh
Ho wonderful! Happy Holidays!
Longing back to Bratislava when I see your pictures. Lived on a boat on The Danube and really loved the stay…
Oooooh, that does sound delightful!

Haben eine wunderbare Woche mein Freund! <3
ich danke dir und wünsche alles Gute
Frohe Weihnachten mein Freund!
What a stunning collection of shots Cindy and those dried fruits look so delicious! Now you make me wish I could go there as well. LOL! I know I would eat myself silly on those garlic fried potato flatbread. Where are those teleports when we need them? 😀
Exactly! Except I made Christmas cookies yesterday and if I eat anymore I will pop!!! 😉
hahahaha! I know the feeling. That’s how I am when it comes to danish cookies. They are my favourite. 😀
A feast for the senses 😀
So glad! Thank you & cheers~
Fabulous photos Cindy that stir my travel lust, food fetish and delight in all the colors, streets, foods and feeling of your post. I love how you bring a place alive with your words and photos. Thanks!
One has to have the sensory sensitivity to receive the images and feelings which you have in spades my friend. Happy Holidays!
Oh, yes, beam me back to the Christmas markets. I always tried to manage my work (before I married Tom) to spend as many Nov-Dec in Europe as possible. Little did I know, Tom was in many of the same places I was – we just didn’t know each other then. We so wanted to travel Europe together + many other places.
Isn’t that a funny thing! Jim and I were on the same ski lift in Jackson Hole Wyomming in the late 1970’s. I was taking a private lesson and he remembers my conversation about my boyfriend who was skiing like a madman down the mountain. We wouldn’t meet for another two decades and I married the skiing madman first. Life is amazing isn’t it? I wonder how often this happens?
I know of several instances in the military community but always thought we were a ‘different’ environment. However, my oldest brother married and had 15 year marriages with 2 wives before he bumped into his highschool girlfriend in Europe and they were married for 9 years or so until she passed. I liked her the best of the lot!
Love it. Love it. Love it.
I imagine the fantastic smells too. If I found myself there, I’d never want to leave. Thanks you for sharing. Another enjoyable tour. 🙂
That lobster got a prominent spot! Was that a farm museum?
No ice here yet, especially with yesterday being in the 80’s F. Yep in December!
Actually a pharmacy museum and that is a European crayfish!!! Go figure…..Stay cool!
One honking crayfish. The ones I use to catch in the summer where smaller than my finger! But then I have watched some cooking shows that crayfish is featured in the main meal.
We have crawfish all over The Holler creek. I can’t imagine trying to catch, cook and eat one!
You certainly had me drooling over those pancakes…
You and me both, and I already ate half of one! 😉
Could you kindly send one over here…?

A feast, in more ways than one! Those bathroom hangers look fun 🙂
Plus they smell divine and would delightfully scent you entire bath. Regretting not buying these irreplaceable aromatic pretties~
Beautiful and delicious! 🙂
So glad you enjoyed and Happy Holidays!
Wishing you the same Cindy. 🙂
<3
I have to say – your fabulous virtual tour – looks great and I feel real atmosphere and I enjoyed so much, as always. I like the smell and taste of the langos! Bye. Kamila
It is definitely best when you can smell and taste without those pesky calories! Happy Holidays to you and thank you too!
And also I wish you Happy Blogging in 2016! Bye. K

Sehr Interessant! Danke! I can see how the dried fruits historically and currently provided needed nutrients and energy, especially in the winter. I saw a lot for sale in Wurzburg and they looked divine. I think the combination of dried fruit and spice is healthy and pleasing for multiple senses, taste, smell and visual appeal. I wish I had eaten more! I will have to come back. The history is fascinating. Thank you for sending this to me Froliche Weihnachten!
That’s a wonderful world of Christmas and ights. Thank you, Cindy
Thank you for enjoying it with me & cheers to you~
Darn it! I’ve been out of touch with others for about a month, and I missed this!!!!! Shame on me … well, at least I saw it now. As matter of fact, last weekend’s Explore featured a video from Bratislava. https://afrankangle.wordpress.com/2015/12/12/on-exploring-a-bucket-list-place/ … I get the impression you enjoyed it here. Surprised?
How synchronistic! You will love Slovakia. Be sure and savor the countryside and the nearby Carpathian Mountains. Bratislava is a wonderful surprise. It is not as hyped as much of Europe but it has the history, culture and food to make it high on my list of fascinating places. I have Eastern European blood (Slavic) and have only begun to penetrate Eastern Europe, Slovakia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Hungary so far. I wish to see Poland, Bulgaria, The Dalmation Coast.
Excellent … and I may have to use your response in a future OITS. 🙂
<3 Thank you for the clip. It makes me want to go back and see what I missed!
Interestingly … you posted this one day before I posted mine!
Jung would call this synchronicity and would say it has significance. I listen to Jung!
wonderful photos take me to Europe please haha
We can beam to place to place forl lunch, dinner and dessert! Heaven~
this place seem to have what i love going to new places…good food 🙂
Exactly!!! 🙂

Amazing photos. I have friends in Bratislava. Beautiful culture, loving people. I wish I could travel, but as you know Iam confined to bed, so I truly appreciate photo trips. Thank you so much for sharing.
I am so glad you travel along with me! You make the experience richer~ <3
So colorful!

Beautiful pictures. Gave me interesting insight to a place I’ve never been!
Thank you Jack. You make me happy I posted. Cheers to you ꨄ︎
