don’t like birds on their bum!

Some fight with their friends,

while others prefer their sulfur-bath time!

They are cute enough,

to want to bring home,

although they need their prairie to roam.

Cheers to you from Yellowstone’s baby buffalos~

They are beautiful! Even baby buffalo are cute!
They really are magnificent creatures!
I see where the buffalo roam, but there aren’t any deer or antelope playing there…, must be a private buffalo spa !!! I’ve always thought they were magnificent beasts…, and to think, millions of them roamed the plains, until civilization came. Happy Sunday, Cuz. 🙂
I’ve got the antelope and the deer covered cuz, but I do think you’re right. Yellowstone is one big buffalo spa!
Love yellowstone! Such a magical place. Hope to make it back there again some day.
It does keep calling one back!
Love their fuzzy brown heads! They look like mischievous kids. 😉
I think that is just what they are!
So adorable but I don’t think will fit in your luggage. 🙂
TSA might even find them, unlike the toad that I accidentally brought from Africa to Paris!
What?!! Is that in a post? I would love to read about it.
Cool ad so very cute. I would love to have one but my apt manager owl not like one roaming n the parking lot.
Spoil sport apartment manager!
So great to see that they haven’t been hunted into extinction.
They came so close to it!
Hi Cindy, thanks for browsing through my blog now and then, for your likes and now for following it. A bit courious though, do you really understand Swedish or do you use google translation? If so, that must give you quite a few laughs. 🙂
Yes, I use translate. Your blog gets automatically translated for me by wordpress and it seems much better than google translate.

Big is beautiful and these baby buffalos are no exception caught on camera by Cindy Knoke , stunning photography as always.
Big, beautiful, bouncing, buffalo, babies!
More funtastic adventures from the western prairies! Thanks Cindy. 🙂
It is always high adventure in the wild old west!
lol
Interesante reportaje Cindy. Los búfalos son imponentes. Al ver a estos animales, tan americanos, me traslado a las películas de “indios y vaqueros” de mi infancia.
Si que son simbolos iconicos del, oeste salvaje salvaje! Saludos mi amiga~
I want one!
Me? At least 2, maybe 3!!
I wouldn’t like birds landing on me either! Or flies!
I actually would love birds landing on me, but not on my bum. I’m picky that way! 😉
Maybe in the Cinderella way? 🙂
What a smart person. Exactly! I was memorized by Cinderella. She was the St. Francis of Disney cartoon characters.
Stunning close-ups. They look too hot in those coats. 😀 😀
They are getting ready to survive a Wyomming winter. I used to ski here. I remember -50 degrees!
Silly me. Guess they’ll be warm enough during winter. 😀 😀
There are little red ones that were born too late and may not make it through winter, the bigger calves should be okay though.
It’s great they made a comeback and can still roam.
Beautiful images, beautiful creatures and one of my favorite places in all the world.
Beautiful plant-eaters. Adorable post!
Thank you! I love the grazers too!
They are such beautiful animals!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you more for appreciating them!
Cindy: I don’t think we’ll ever come to your blog and not feel overwhelmed, by your gift. What unbelievable pictures. We felt as though we could reach out and touch these furry buffalo. Luv the one pic of the buffalo on his back; to freaking adorable. and the last pic…stunning!!! What an artist you are!!! Sharing these pics now.
Awwww, you are such kind and generous blogging friends. I was pretty suprised with the sulphur baths, all these buffalos with their hooves in the air! So cute. Very pleased you enjoyed and cheers my friends~
Do they really bounce, or were you employing a figure of speech? 🙂
Very nice photographs (as usual).
I was using a figure of speech. There is an old saying, “She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy,” who knows what the derivation of this saying is, but I just applied to the buffalo. It really makes no sense at all either way!
They are so cute and they look furriendly, but I wouldn’t dare to get on their back like that bird does 😀 Amazing pictures again, dear Cindy and what a beautiful environment. Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
Yes, I think there is a definite reason we never see anyone riding a buffalo! 😉

Ich freue mich, Sie sie genossen mein Freund und Jubel fur Sie!
Great photos of our iconic buffalo’s which are kinda cute, Cindy.
I definitely think they are lookers!
Wonderful pictures! I love buffalo and I’ve been thinking of painting one with one of my fairies. You’ve inspired me! 🙂
Yay! I hope you will share it with me!
I will. 🙂
Oh, great!
Yellowstone was beautiful, and it offered so much during my visit there a couple years ago…but what absolutely made it a visit were the buffalos. These shots you have are AWESOME ~
You are such a wonderful blogging friend Randall. Be well my friend~
Wow…your pictures are always so fantastic! Gorgeous baby buffalos!! Pressed to reblog later! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you more for such thoughtful appreciation & cheers to you~
I’ve always wondered what they look like close up. Do you know how big is the buffalo herd?
Estimates vary, but Yellowstone’s population is somewhere around 4.200-5000.
That is a balm. I hate the thought that we wiped a species from the earth. We shouldn’t have such power. I still feel bad for the dodo, dumb as it was reputed to be.
Yes, it makes me miserable to think of all the species we have destroyed. Consider the Tasmanian Tiger. Just in the last ten years a bunch of species have become extinct, like the Zanaibar Leopard, the West African Black Rhino, the Javan Tiger, and The Little Blue Macaw. You are right too much power and too little common sense.
Oh golden prairies! I flew into Edmonton in a smaller prop plane on Wednesday and got great shots of the patchwork prairies. The topography is so different from the air. I do prefer
terra-firma to peeking out at the clouds, but there’s privilege in making like a bird now and again. If I was a little bird, I wouldn’t set myself on that buffalo, he probably smells pretty ripe from his beloved sulfur-bath. I might just swing by and wave a wing from up high. 😀 x k
Yes but the clever magpie is eating tasty, yummy, fleas, ticks and lice, off that bouncing baby buffalo butt!
I love baby buffaloes (or bison) – so furry and wild. Glad we have conservation these days. Great shots as always
Yes, we almost lost them which would have been a terrible crime. Very pleased you like them & cheers to you~
I am so glad you didn’t lose them! They are meant to be roaming the prairies and they taste nice too…:)
You too!

Cute post, Cindy, and glorious photos, today and always.
So kind of you and most appreciated too!
Wow! They do look cute and rmind me of “Home onn the range”, which I haven’t heard since I was 10 or so. Your posts remind me of the diversity of our world and the need to protect all it’s creatures xx Rowena
Yes, we have such an amazingly beautiful planet and remarkable creatures living on it. I am afraid we are destroying all of it. Thank you for your thoughtful sentiments~
I loveeee buffalos 🙂
Me 3! 😉
😀
