We geese are climbing stairs and it ain’t easy for us!

What do you entitled human think?

That stairs are made for you?

Not hardly! We geese have places to go and ducks to see.

What? Now you’re feeding ducks?

What about us?

Silly human, don’t you know?

Treats are for geese~
Cheers to you from the confident geese, handsome ducks, and cluelessly entitled human.

Love these birds on a mission Cindy!
I’m telling you, you gotta move out of their way!
Nice I like them , Cindy.
Knew you would Ranu and they like you too! <3
Beautiful photographs!
Mil grazi~
Unbelievably beautiful.
Awwww, I’m happy for the ducks and geese that you think so!
Nice series. Geese are silly. They don’t need to climb steps, they can fly up them. They are just showing off. We used to have ducks and geese and various farm animals. Back a long, long time ago, we had this mean old gander that liked to sneak up on people and pinch them. One day, Laurie’s sister was bending over trying to see a raccoon hiding under a stump, and that old goose snuck up on her and gave her a good goosing. We laughed and laughed, and I don’t think Laurie’s sister has ever forgiven us for not telling her that old goose was sneaking up on her.
Geese have ‘tudes big time! My kids were repeatedly chased by a highly agitated goose in Colorado. They called her Hissy as in, let’s go watch Hissy have a fit! 😉
This was so sweet, Cindy. I can just imagine the attitude the ducks and geese give you. The special way you cherish all creatures comes across in all you photograph and write about, too. The one i liked the best was with blue details, how unusual!
So kind of you my friend, and yep I love all creatures great and small!
Very busy and demanding aren’t they 😛
Yes! They remind me of my second grade teacher!
And for me my grade 5 teacher lol
Totally charming, Cindy….you’re right about goose attitude. We have Canada geese who like to gang up for a procession crossing a busy street so all the tired people trying to get to or from work have to stop…traffic stops, backs up and the geese take their sweet time crossing. A good Zen moment, actually…slow down, breathe, watch geese meander across the road……
Nothing better than that is there! Watching geese take over the world just seem so RIGHT! 😉
Awww they made my heart smile. I love geese and ducks. Great shots of these characters.
And the goslings and duckings are coming very soon! Irresistable……
Oh, they are so cute. I have not seen geese so colorful as they are here. The ones are round here are just brown, grey and white mostly.
They come in so many colors, shapes and sizes!
Bigger or smaller? I am curious. I only see one size around here.
I am no expert but one of the smallest in North America may be the Ross’s goose, and one of the largest, the Emden male goose. One male weighed in at 28 pounds! They are a tad aggressive too, so that is one big goose with a ‘tude!
Ha, never get in the way of a goose!
Beautiful birds, I esp. love the duck with the blue feet – such an exotic! Do you know what type it was? Your photos are so great in detail – I never noticed before that their feet close up when stepping.
I am guessing, not certain, that it is a White Faced Whistling Duck. Do you know? If not, someone will surely enlighten us……
That’s it! From S.America and Africa. A beautiful creature!
They really are sweet and lovely!
Move -over… I can see that attitude. 🙂 Good looking ducks and geese, gorgeous colors! Great photos, Cindy!
Never stand in the way of a gaggle of geese and their destination!
Oh, no… 🙂
<3
Hi Cindy,
They can be so colourful.
Leslie
Comical, cute and colorful!
Awesome writing. The geese are like gold and silver. And the expression of the geese to go with the words. Stunning!
Awwwww, you are such a kind blogging friend!
Oh yes, geese are very territorial! ٩(˘◡˘)۶
And I know to follow their clear directives!
Never argue with a goose!
Not me! No way!
Yep, as your photos and others’ stories here describe, geese sure have a strong presence! Been surrounded by them near a pond before when they came up to us while we were enjoying some snacks. You *know* what they want, ha ha!
They’re a delight to watch of course. I watched a group of them passively allow fast river currents to propel them towards a small waterfall, and they harnessed the river’s force into an easy take-off at the edge before the fall… It was clear that this was a playful activity for them!
Oh wow, that must have been amazing to see! I am fascinated watching birds aerodynamic play. They have so much fun harnessing wind drafts and here you saw them harnessing water currents as well. Wonderful!
Quite an entertaining story to go with the nice photos! I have also learned to step aside for geese :-).
It is an imperative lesson to learn!
Stunning!
Mil grazi!
Beautiful. Thanks. I love ducks (and geese.)
That, makes two of us! <3
Greats hots of these lovable characters. Love ducks and geese.
They are remarkable and I love lovers of ducks and geese! <3

Awww, thank you ma’am & cheers to you too!
I swear it looks like a painting of a duck…
Smiling, that is so encouraging! Thank you~
Look at it closely, it looks like a painting… Amazing
Awwwww, so kind!

goose–goose-duck! Amazing photos–just amazing–and fuuUUUn captions! 🙂
The goose are quite grateful that at least one human knows the proper order of things!
Reblogged this on Voices and Visions.
So thoughtful of you and most appreciated. Cheers to you my friend~
Fabulous photographs of a lovely subject. Have a good weekend. 🙂
I am quite pleased that you enjoyed the feathered quackers and honkers!
Nice pics… our geese down at the lake are used to plenty people and are very relaxed, when it comes to people 🙂
The swans are a different cattle of fish – grin
Ah yes, swan personalities would require an entire, separate post!
This is beautiful and the pictures are wonderful 🙂
Awwww so thoughtful & most appreciated! <3
So beautiful! How wonderful 😀
Completely endearing creatures aren’t they, and the chicks haven’t even arrived yet!
Awesome and humorous post! I love that you can see the water droplets on their chest feathers! It’s so cool they aren’t afraid to come up so close to you! Beautiful pics! Hugz and Happy Friday! Lisa and Bear
I like seeing the water droplets too. You can see how water repellant their oil covered feathers really are. Happy Weekend Lisa!
Wonderful, excellent captured… 🙂
Awwwww, so kind!
There’s something immensely endearing about ducks and geese, possibly because they look so ungainly on land.
It is flat out wonderful to hear from you and I know you & I are both quite fond of the paddling ones! Have a lovely weekend my friend~
I miss my friend Imogen. She and I used to go with her mum to feed the ducks on the local pond. She was about 18 months old at the time. She was still my friend. Even now I sign off emails to her mum, ‘Quack quack.’
My husband says quack so much that I gave him a t-shirt with a duck on it, that says, “Shut the Duck Up.” Needless to say, he pays me back by wearing it. It’s a good shirt for sorting through people though. Some people look appalled and away (phooey on them) and others look amused and add commentary, “What duck?” Where’s the duck?” etc…….
Wunderschöne Fotos wünsche einen schönen Tag und ein gutes und schönes Wochenende liebe Grüße und Freundschaft Gislinde
Vielen dannke Gislinde! Frohliche wochenende mein lieber! <3
Cindy, it looks like pictures have been done by some of these ducks. Foreshorten and close-up are great. Nicely done. I love it.
So happy you do and Happy Friday!
Beautiful. What species are they? The mallard we see around the NE but the others are unfamiliar. 😀
Considering I am no expert, I am tentatively identifying these guys as white faced whistling ducks, bar headed goose, swan goose, and female comb duck. If I am wrong someone will hopefully help us out with my guesses……
Thanks. I took out my bird book yesterday and was unable to identify a few of the ducks I saw so I totally understand not always being able to put a name to them. They are beautiful no matter what we call them.
Nice shots. There is nothing a like a peccadillo to attract my interest. 🙂
Yes, nothing quite as cute as an odd duck! You are very clever Graham! Love it~
aw shucks. (I wonder what that means).
It’s Yankee for thank you~
Wonderful photos of wonderful ducks. Thank you and have a nice weekend 🙂
Back 2 U x 2 my friend~
I love this! So adorable! <3
They are cute and clumsy on land and elegant in the water!
Love this collection Cindy – the close-ups and look on their faces. Great little hams for the camera.
I swear I think they were posing! 😉
Cute geese. I think they do an easier job of it (going up stairs) than this human with one bad knee, one artificial knee and arthritis. 🙂
Ouch! You have my empathy. Just reading this sounds painful~ <3
They’re so beautiful, Cindy — especially the one with BLUE feet!! I so admire your ability to get up close and personal with critters like these!!
This is basically all I did as a kid and it is so much fun to have a second shot at childhood joy!
Gorgeous photos, Cindy!
Merci beaucoup mon ami!
I don’t know French, but that sounds so pretty! 🙂
Thank you very much my dear! <3
Love the narrative to go with these lovely photos!
Very happy you do & happy weekend too!
adoro le oche…sono buffissime, bellissime e tanto chiaccherone!!!
Ahhh, muchas gracias mi amable amiga! <3
It’s always so hard being fair when feeding waterfowl. Whenever I’ve some homemade bread left over (lucky birds), I go to feed the ducks and moorhens in the local park. Usually, I make sure the bread is in crumbs, rather than in chunks, otherwise the seagulls come swooping down and steal it all. They don’t seem to bother with crumbs. My dog enjoys the fallout and is more interested in this than chasing the birds.
One thing I love seeing when I travel is all the people who feed the birds. In Brugge there was a couple who went round to all the restaurants at close of day on bicycle and collected left over bread. They peddled over to the canals and fed the swans. They did this every night I was there. God Bless the bird feeders everywhere!
This is a cosy post and they all look very cute <3 I can almost feel how they bobbing over the doorstep. Thanks for the greeting 🙂 🙂
They do walk into buildings which I find hilarious. I think they may just be curious!
