It’s snowing in the altitudes near Golden, British Columbia Canada. And there are sheep high up in these peaks!
Here’s a sense of the September snow.
The Ewe Mountain Sheep and her two lambs were very high up in the crags of the peaks, jumping around. You can see the snow falling. It was 3 degrees centigrade. Here is a sense of the the height perspective. Look carefully and you can pick out the sheep family.
And here are some more shots of these stunners!
Please excuse me for not being able to respond well now. Internet is getting dicey as we move towards Revelstoke NP. I look forward to catching up with you soon!
Cheers to you from just past Golden, British Columbia, Canada!
Amazing photos. How do they cling to the rock like that? Wonderful animals!
I think they have specially adapted hooves and very strong legs….still they are amazing! Cheers & thanks~
And this is where the phrase “as nimble as a goat” comes from. Quick, light and agile on their feet, that they are those goats.
Great pics again Cindy! And this is where I can truly say I don’t miss the snow. 🙂
Yes so nimble and dare-devils too!! We drove out of the snow, but are now heading into Glacier so it will be BAACK!!
Wow they are very unusual looking sheep! Great shots.
Mil grazi~
I can’t believe that you used a winter word in September. 😉
No worries on comments. Enjoy your time away!
Thanks much ma deah!!

Hugz to you my friend and many thank you’s for your kindness~
Such impressive creatures and their living space and adaptability are awesome! Fabulous shots! As always.
Thank you and I sincerely hope you and Rozie are on the mend my friend!
love them Cindy … far from our beach and the jellyfish I have been photographing!
Yes!! Two weeks ago I was in the ocean, now contemplating our drive today into Canada’s Glacier National Park!!!
have fun, we are such privileged people … now we are in the tropics!
Definitely a stunner. Drive safe. Hope the ground is dry.
Today will be the test! We drive into the Glaciers! Cheers to you and thank you~
Amazing captures Cindy, Don’t know how they stand so steadily, I’d be sliding all over the place lol 🙂
It is quite a natural wonder to see them do this!! Grazi~
Indeed! thank you for sharing 🙂
Magnificent captures… most impressive…
Very kind and very appreciated!!
Going along the AlCan Highway back in the 60s I remember having seen the sheep on the side of the mountains…thanks for reminding me of that wonderful feeling that I lived back then! 😉
So happy I was able to trigger such wonderful memories!! Sounds divine~
Ah it was, it was!
The sheep look very healthy; must be all the mountaineering they do 😉
Yes! I would be so fit if I had to jump up and down that mountain! Either that or deceased!! (:
Cindy, you make me laugh 😀
The sheep are beautiful! The babies are adorable!! Great pics! Have a grand time there! Hugz Lisa and Bear
Hugz back to you both!
Those goats have such amazing balance! Great zoom lens you have 🙂
Isn’t the balance incredible and they are so agile! Merci beau coup~
The first picture seems to show they are as curious about you as you are about them. 🙂
The gray rock with the green and orange contrast is just beautiful.
I have found with my telephoto that animals are always watching us, even from great distances, usually before I find them with my lens!
I am amazed by these gentle looking animal. Their fur does not look thick to withstand the cold weather up high in the mountain. Their feet do not look like they suitable to be on the ledge as such. Thank you for sharing!
Remarkably hardy and beautiful animals. Merci my friend~
I thought the same as Yellow Cable they certainly look as though they need to grow some wool before winter gets there. As always great photos Cindy
I wonder how they find food on those sheer cliffs in the winter!! Cheers to you and Jack~
Looks damned cold to me Cindy. A bit like where I was born
Yes, suprise for September!! Wonder where you were born Duncan……
Lancashire. Pennines. Bleak up there out of towns. I spent many days trekking about up there when I was full of teenage angst.
Oh it sounds so Heathcliff, dark, broody and beautiful. I am overdue for a return to gorgeous UK. Cheers to you my friend~
Ah, so beautiful. Its brilliant 🙂
Very kind of you! Thank you~
Pleasure was all mine 🙂
Just stunning beauty up here everyday! Thank you~
Pleasure 🙂
Nice captures. Are they not amazing though I always wonder how many were not 🙁 When will you be back home?
Home too soon!! I love it up here! And yes, I only get glimpses, often through telephoto, of these wondeful wild creatures. I wish I had magical powers and fly above them and watch them for hours!!! Cheers & best to you Eunice~
Lovely creatures–what inspiration from nature.
Photographing wildlife is the biggest thrill for me!! Mil gazi~
