Catching critters,

as they swim away.

Except for Squirrely,

who doesn’t even let his feet get wet.

Critters in order are: Brandt’s Cormorant, Black Oystercatcher, Heerman’s Gull and California Ground Squirrel.

even when they shy away.

Two Pelis,

are twice,

as much fun,

in the sun,

but five pelis, well they stun!

Big waves barreling,

onto Boomers Beach,

in La Jolla California,

during the current storm.

La Jolla Cove,

which rarely breaks,

was thundering with big waves.

And surfers.

It was quite The New Year’s,

show!

Although the pelicans were not very impressed and chose to snooze through all the drama.

Formation Flying~

Pelis-can

fly in formation.

The birds in the back coast,

on the updraft from the birds in the front.

They swap positions regularly,

so no one gets tired.

Cooperation is a powerful force,

and much more fun than fighting.
