  1. Love your titles for the first ones and yes, I can well understand your returning again and again. I visited the Canadian Badlands and they were breathtaking, too.

  2. Wonderful photos, Cindy! Places with almost no vegetation are sort of like nudes in art, stripped down to basics. Maybe we need a better term than “badlands.” I guess they were called that because they are useless for agriculture and hard to survive in.

    1. Yes thank you Audrey, maybe they were named badlands by the pioneers trying to survive while crossing them! They are harsh, fragile, full of life, total contradictions დ

  3. Beautiful captures! The hills and terrain have such a unique charm — different, yet wonderfully captivating in their own way. Your pictures really bring the place alive.🙏🏻

  4. This is breathtakingly beautiful — both in its simplicity and its emotional resonance. 🌵✨ Your words capture the haunting allure of the Badlands with such quiet strength — “stark, stunning, solitary, soulful” perfectly distills their essence. The rhythm of your lines feels like the slow exhale of desert wind, each word standing as solid and timeless as the landscape itself.

    1. You are so right. These badlands are teeming with wildlife adapted to live in extremely harsh conditions. It is so amazing and impressive. Great to hear from you & hope all is well ꨄ︎

  5. I’m always amazed at the colors in places like that Cindy. These places may not have that greenery and flowers, but they still have so much unique colors all there own. Thank you for the share kind lady 🤗❤️🙏

  6. Gorgeous. I would like to be there right now instead of up to my ears in rescue work!!! I guess I’ll just have to keep looking at the photos and taking deep breaths.

Visited South Dakota in college and loved wandering the Badlands, the beautiful colors of the Earth in the undulating of valleys and peaks. Your photos are wonderful! Enjoy the day!

  8. Be safe and well too, Cindy, …I’m scrolling up and down, reliving every single photo, their beauty is so stunning, …you can’t quite take in the detail in one go! …💙

      1. You’re welcome Cindy. I’m doing great, thank you so much! It will be a few weeks healing but the threat of a stroke is gone. 🙏🏻 Be well!

  9. Cindy, these images feel almost otherworldly — the Badlands look carved by time itself. There’s a quiet majesty in every curve and shadow. Thank you for capturing that sense of wonder.
