Heat Wave!

(click/tap to enlarge)

It’s September in SoCal,

so we’re having a heat wave.

We grabbed the family and headed to coastal Carlsbad for the week.

Life’s a beach,

and the fun doesn’t stop,

when the sun sets.

It just slows down,

and becomes more soulful.

Cheers to you from Carlsbad in September~

  1. Lovely captures Cindy. 💐🙏🏻💛
Life ‘s a beach and then we touch the soul…. But those beach moments are sublime, and a wonderful portal to appreciation and connection to the source of it all.

  2. Beautiful pictures! The sunset images are stunning.
Yeah this heat has been really tough lately… Living somewhat close to the AirportFire, the grey and pink sky made me feel a bit sad, though the air seems better now.

    1. Thanks very much. The fires are very sad. And now the Santa Ana winds are picking up big time now which adds fuel to the fires. I hear they caught one arsonist. Stay safe & well დ

  3. I was born next door in Oceanside (Camp Pendleton, to be precise). Yeah, I was a USMC brat… Also spent a couple years living there when I was in high school.

The ocean’s amazing, but I must confess I find the cooler climes of Puget Sound.

    Wonderful pictures.

    1. Go Marines!! I was born and raised a bit south of you, also on the beach in La Jolla. We were neighbors! I know Pendleton and the surrounding area well. Did you ever see the buffalo herd?

Yep, once a Marine, always a Marine. My dad was a combat vet who retired as a sergeant major. I, however, took his advice and joined the Air Force… funny story.

  4. We stay at the Cape Ray hotel in Carlsbad when we visit San Diego, and the last time we were there we went down to the beach there. It’s a lovely place and the San Diego vibe is so relaxing.
Hope the heat wave improves…this summer has been obnoxiously hot for us in both SoCal and NorCal.

  5. I saw the sunrise on the Atlantic! The beaches had to be closed due to illegal dumping… It was very windy and just a bit nippy. The ocean was stingy with sea gifts… but I found some. I didn’t keep it but I saw a ‘Mermaid’s Purse’ – A shark (or other fishys egg sack) I didn’t pick that up though. I also saw one horseshoe crab, lots of little bitty white crabby things too. And lots of sea birdies!

    1. So amazing you saw the horseshoe crab, one of the oldest organisms on earth, and a shark egg sack. You know what to look for Jules, and the ocean knows what to toss at your feet! Be well my friend დ

      1. I remember as a young child going to the beach and the beach was full of horseshoe crabs… maybe it was a particular season?

I think when you try to be observant – nature rewards you 😉 As it does you with all of your beautiful images. 😍

  6. Ahhh…. Thank you for showing me the beauty of Carlsbad through your eyes 👀

Also thank you for reading my most important and vulnerable poem yet! 🤗 xo. grateful. You are a stunning photographer and I’m glad to know you here. We also live quite close.
