Heat Wave!

(click/tap to enlarge)

It’s September in SoCal,

so we’re having a heat wave.

We grabbed the family and headed to coastal Carlsbad for the week.

Life’s a beach,

and the fun doesn’t stop,

when the sun sets.

It just slows down,

and becomes more soulful.

Cheers to you from Carlsbad in September~

    1. Isn’t that so? The pictures do make the scenery come to life and engulf all the senses: the feel of the sand between your toes, the whispers of the waves, and, yes the smell of the ocean!

Thank you for finding the good and the soothing in this highly uncomfortable heat…

  1. The second photo (closeup of a wave) is exquisite. They’re all great, but that one’s my favourite. We had a small heat wave (3 or 4 days with highs around 80F) last week, but now it looks like fall is almost here.

    1. We clocked 104 today, but it is already cooling. I could exercise outside tonight. I think this is the hottest I remember. It actually seemed hotter at the coast because it was so humid. Hope all is well with you დდ

        1. Yikes. That sounds difficult. The humidity just makes things worse. September is often bad at the coast as you know, but not this bad, and the lack of overnight cooling was really strange. Stay cool. Today feels much better except for the smoke and fires!

  2. It looks glorious Cindy, but I have to ask, why are you trying to make me jealous?
A break from the rain and some prolonged sunshine would be wonderful.
    Enjoy your break. Huge Hugs

  3. Hey, great sunsets Cindy. Delightfully taken with such foreground of sea, surf and sand. And that crystal clear wave shot stands out. I don’t know whether the light or clear water…or both. But it wanted to be seen. Thank you for the share, I hope you got some of that cooool water in that heat 🤗❤️🙏

  4. Hi Cindy! So this is where you’ve been hiding haha! Beautiful photos, I’ve never been to that area of California. It seems odd to me that the temperature can be so high there, the weather channel said it was 104 degrees recently. Las Vegas is starting the winter cool down this week with 97 and lower, yay!

  5. Dear Cindy
it looks a bit like here on our coast but fortunately we didn’t had a heat wave. But for our taste we had had enough sun and we hope for rain. At least it started to be quite windy.
We didn’t know that there is a Carlsbad in California, we only know the famous Carlsbad in the Czeck Republic where a lot of famous artist used to spend their holidays.
    Thanks & Cheers

    1. It sounds like you are ideally situated climate wise. The Czech Republic is wonderful, but the only other Carlsbad I have visited is in Germany and is spelled with a K. I love all the spa town Bads…. They are so good!! Cheers to you both & take good care დ

      1. Dear Cindy
we have a classic maritime climate with mild summers (hardly ever more than 30 degrees) and mild winters (maybe just a couple of days with light frost and ice). And lots of hours of sunshine, much more than middle European average.
        Thanks

        1. Sounds delightful. Odd to think our SoCal weather is more extreme. We get both extreme heat and lots of below freezing nights in winter, and of course, the fires, many of which are burning now.

  6. Fabulous beach shots, Cindy. I love the way you did day until sunset.
    Yet, another heat wave!
Anyway, it’s cooled off a bit in Toronto. I’m sure we will get 1 last killer heat wave.

  7. Cheers back Cindy. Those are gorgeous photos and remind me how much I love to watch sunsets over the ocean or water. In fact, I was at those beaches a long time ago with no camera. Enjoy the beach for me. 😍

  8. Good for you, Cindy! Summer’s last gasp here is almost painful, ha! (Probably because by this time of year, we’re all ready for Fall’s cooler temps and plenty of pumpkins!)
