‘This is the Land the Sunset Washes’~

At The Holler,

the surreal,

is sometimes,

real.

I photographed these unusual cloud formations last night when it was extremely hot and humid and the clouds seemed to dip from holding the weight of water.

Cheers to you from ‘the banks of the yellow sea’~

(poem attribution Emily Dickinson)

Late addition: Two brilliant bloggers identified these clouds for me as Asperitas Clouds only formally classified in 2017. Here is a reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperitas_(cloud)

I want to recognize both of these clever bloggers and thank them sincerely for their fascinating information.

Cindy, if you did not explain what is that, I thought it’s done with photoshop.
    Awesome and rare occurrence!

    1. It is so great to hear from you Randall! I know your photographic/artistic eye will never stop seeing things beautifully/differently and I am very happy about that დ

  2. Your images remind me of Georgia O’Keefe’s flowers. I was just visiting a local museum and found out that Georiga O’keefe was actually friends with and wanted to colaborate with one of our local artists Charles Demuth. I actally saw an image of them together – I think in an information ‘reel.’

You bet Bloggers Rock! Thank you for sharing your beautiful images.

      1. I surprised a baby blue heron in my gully area this morning. I did take a photo, but it isn’t great. I did read that the babies aren’t born until late July early August. I’ve seen ‘teen’s who are still brown… so that’s why I thought it was a heron. I looked up images on the net to confirm.

        Have a wonderful holiday today!
