You just need,

to be alone,

silent,

and still.

If you do this,

you will find,
that birds are avid people watchers!
Cheers to you from the always observant birdies~
Note: Featured birds are a Stellar Jay and American Robin.

The jay is a happy coincidence and so different from the one I spotted yesterday
Ah, synchronicity! I would love to see your Jay Derrick დ
So gorgeous.
Grazie mille Dana დ
So beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you! And cheers too დ
Fantasic photos and lovely text.
So appreciated. Thank you & cheers დ
Stellar Jay is gorgeous!
Aren’t they lovely creatures. I think they know they are beautiful and it makes them shy დ
Thank you for sharing these beloved people watchers. I think they would be proud of how good they look in your photos 💐💝💐
You made me smile Val. Thanks much my friend & cheers to you დ
These pictures are so gorgeous and vivid. ✨
Much appreciated Narisa. Thank you დ
Such cute and attentive people watchers!
Cheers to you Brad. They are QT’s! დ
That Jay is really Stellar! And the Robin is not too shabby, either 🙂
Smiling….. For once a bird is aptly named! He is stellar დ
So true, Cindy! We have a family of blue jays that come to eat the cat food we leave for our cats and they watch us through the windows. It’s hilarious.
That is hilarious. But I am sure the cat doesn’t find it funny! 😉
We get robins here, too, and they’re so interesting to watch. So chipper and busy … except when they’re staring down a worm! We get jays, but not the same variety you do. Ours don’t have as dark a head, but do have lots more white on their underside. Lovely photos, Cindy!
You may be describing a Scrubjay. We also have scrubjays at The Holler, but no Stellars. I only see them when I travel. You’re lucky to have the Robins. They are very rare here. Thanks much Debbie & enjoy დ
There is no doubt the birdies around here all watch us as much as we watch them, Cindy. Great shots.
Yes! If they are not scared of us, they are very interested. Thank you Bruce & enjoy დ
100% true! You make me want to drop everything, go outside and sit on my screen porch, and just be quiet. Good for my regular bird friends – but better for me.
Thanks as always for the lovely images, Cindy.
Smiling…… Thanks much Sheila. Bird watching is the ultimate “in the moment” Zen. Be well my friend & cheers დ
Hi Cindy, I just put up a bird feeder on the window by the kitchen table. It is such a delight to see them come and feed there. We get the smaller birds – Gold Finch, Pine Grosbeaks, Wrens and Chickadees.
Leslie
Oooooh! I would so love to see them. I have never seen a Pine Grosbeak and rarely see the adorable Chickadees. Enjoy Leslie & cheers დ
Beautiful pictures!
Muchos gracias Andrew დ
You’re welcome.
Always love your pics!
So happy you do & thank you! დ
Beautiful 💙🧡❤️
Thank you Robert დ

Stunning birds and photos.
Thanks much Michael. We are lucky that we love birds დ
Indeed. You’ re welcome.
Those are lovely photos, Cindy!
Grazie mille Ann დ
Haven’t seen a stellar jay before, but their bluejay cousins I’ve seen. Not as many before West Nile came. Robins, we have our personal flock.
And I so rarely see Robins. Interesting how exotic and commonplace depends so much on where you live. Happy you have so many birdies. Enjoy დ
Oh, these birdies are gorgeous, Cindy. Nice shots! I remember seeing my first Stellar Jay in Northern CA. I’ve noticed how birds watch us.
You are observant Mary. Thank you & I am happy you have seen the stunning Stellars დ
Cindy you saw so many birds with your photos Anita
Birds a flying harbingers of happiness! Hope you are seeing some too Anita დ
Greetings from Gatwick airport! Waiting for a flight to Jamaica 🇯🇲…could be a long night! Only another 9 hours to go! Beautiful birds 🐦 I’ve been lost in new phones world for weeks and the follow-up picture sorting since there’s no sd card support on them 😢 So beautiful birds are a very well received break 😀 There’s only so many digital pics you can stare at and sort through before you can’t bear the sight of them anymore 🥴😅
Oooooh….. Bon Voyage! Have an incredible time in Jamaica and fly safely. Look very much forward to hearing about your trip. I love Jamaica. Enjoy the sun and sea დდ
The word is over used. I apologize. Turning the tables here is “brilliant.” Reading that brightened my day. Recently I’ve taken to just sitting in my garden, doing nothing. Listen and observe. You given me more companionship. Thanks Cindy.
I do know they pay more attention to us, than we to them.
You are a lovely person Neil. You brighten my day my friend. Stay safe & well and enjoy your healing garden დ
These guys are beautiful! I wasn’t familiar with the Stellar Jay, so I especially enjoyed those photos. 🌞
You make me happy I posted Dave. Thanks much & cheers დ
Wow! North Amerucan Jays are a lot fancier than their European cousins (and I thought they were quite fancy)
Derrick just posted photos of a UK Jay. Beautiful and appropriately understated!! 😉 Cheers to you Emma დ
I bet they wonder why we point objects at them all the time…(cameras, phones) We are a fascination to them as well. Great shots Cindy.
So true! ‘Why are you staring at me lady?’ Thank you Darnell & cheers to you დ
No matter how quietly you sit, once you point a camera or a binoculars or even a nose their direction they seem to know instantly, even if you think they’re looking elsewhere. It’s almost like radar.
You have some healthy looking birds.
Yes. Absolutely. It is this sixth sense they have to detect the stare of predators. Scientists in Bristol did a study demonstrating this, but you indicate an important point that has not been as well documented, that birds and wild animals in general, are puzzled by lenses stuck to human faces, and have a tendency to stare intently into them. I have seen this so many times with birds, grizzles and all sorts of wild critters. I think the lens, attached to a human face puzzles them and makes them curious. It is fascinating. I have also noticed with birds, that everytime I locate a bird with my lens, they are already looking at me, even at 1200 mm zoom. Thank you for observing and sharing this Dave დ
As people are bird watchers, so are birds peoplewatchers. Great stuff. I bet they see many rare species. 🙂
Laughing….. I bet you are right! Cheers to you Ute დ
Nice shots!
Merci beaucoup! დ
Gorgeous captures!
So appreciated! Thank you very much დ
I love these birds they look so elegant, the colours of their feathers so pretty, I almost feel like touching them. I know they won’t appreciate me trying to touch them.
I think they would sense your kindness and let you get quite close. დ
Beautiful birds! 😍
I will tell them you think so and they will think you have excellent taste! 😉
Aww! Thank you, Cindy. 💕
