Holler Hummers,

are avid human watchers.

Especially when they need a safe siesta spot.

They know the nearby human keeps attacking hummers at bay,

allowing the tired hummer to nap-away.
Cheers to you from the nervously napping Holler hummer~

Watching hummers watch me is my favorite pastime.
People think they are bird watchers. They don’t realize birds are far more intent people watchers. They have to watch us carefully to survive. And sometimes they even learn to trust us a little დ
Such beautifully sharp photos showing all the details
Thank you Pauline. It is so good to be back in touch with you დდ
Gorgeous!!
Merci beaucoup mon Ami Dana დ
Beautiful close-ups and how cute when it closes its eyes!
Thank you! They are such sweet creatures დ
So sweet and pretty, but I can never get close enough to get a long look at them. It’s like 1 or 2 seconds and they’re gone.
Yes. They do not linger long.
Wonderful images!
Grazie mille Emma დ
So well photographed
Much appreciated Derrick. Thank you დ
Love this!
So happy you do & thank you! დ
Fantastic pictures Cindy … of beautiful birds. ♥
Much appreciated. Thank you Ute & cheers to you დ
Kudos on catching hummers at rest, Cindy! Ours seem to be in perpetual motion, and thus far, photographing them properly has eluded me. Maybe one day (I haven’t given up hope!)
“Hope is the thing with feathers!” Glad you are persevering because being around hummingbirds is a wonderful way to spend some time. Cheers to you Debbie & thank you დ
They are so cute. Thank you Cindy.
You are so very welcome my friend. Stay safe & well დ
I saw one when I was a kid, and I was so impressed by its beautiful beak.
I didn’t have a camera or smartphone at the time, so I never had a chance to take a picture. 😊
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing! 😊👍
Wonderful that this memory stays in your mind and I am happy you had an opportunity to see one. Cheers to you & thank you დ
These photos are incredible, Cindy, and I love hummingbirds. We love to watch them while sitting on our patio. And my mom used to love them too, so now when I see one, I always think of her (she passed in 2012). Thanks for sharing! 💞
What a beautiful way to remember your mother. Thank you for your thoughtfulness Lauren დ

Your comment makes me smile Tracy. Thank you დ
If somebody never seen this creature in real life this close up will make wrong imagination about size for this beauty. Excellent set of pictures!
Honored Alexander. Thank you my friend & be well დ
Another WP glitch!
Yes. There are so many.
Why am I feeling sleepy…
Smiling. Me too დ
How on earth did you capture this hummingbird Cindy? It’s as if it is sitting there waiting on you to take it’s picture! 😍🐦😘
I know. I took more photos today while they rested, AND flashed their colors, at the same time, which is really unusual, and made amazing photos. Maybe they know how much I love them დ
Oh my goodness Cindy, I have to agree with you there. They are some awe-inspiring creatures! 🥰💖😁
დდდ
Great pix again. That’s when I half regret abandoning cameras. Can’t do that with an I-phone.
Thank you დ
I just love them. I see them in the forest here and it makes my heart sing.
Alison

I invited my daughter to click on your photograph, and I kid you not, her face lit up in wonderment as she saw the anatomy of the Hummer and exclaimed she didn’t know they made feathers that small. Thanks for sharing an amazing experience.
Oh my! That makes me so very happy! Please tell your daughter she makes me very glad I posted the pictures and thank you both დ
Such a great looking bird!
