  1. Wow. Now these are beautiful creatures who have to establish priorities swiftly. I never knew this about these moths so thanks as always, Cindy, for the education. You should be required reading.

  2. Maybe the ceonothus moth is dressed for a grand party. Thanks for the gorgeous photos Cindy and fascinating discussions about perspective, time, and what makes a full life.

    1. For the moth, this is an end of life well dressed party. Thank you Brad for your sensitive and intelligent recognizing, “perspective, time, and what makes a full life.” დდ

  3. Stunning photos and fascinating creature. The short lifespan hit me hard, but I’m learning to embrace “how” over “why.” Now, I’m starting to understand the mantra: savor every moment.

  4. I think I saw some of this moth’s friends at various butterfly houses that I’ve visited. I’ve got some close ups of some… one Owl Butterfly that I found by chance on a walk in the woods… sooo pretty!

      1. If one stands still enough that can happen at the butterfly houses too…
I’ve gotten close enough to photograph Monarchs and Swallowtails in my yard! But they have never landed on me. 🦋

We often overlook moths, thinking only butterflies are beautiful, so I’m glad you’ve shown us such great pictures of these beauties! Stay safe in your continuing storms!
