PRETTY-PRETTY!
They are QT’s!

OK Cindy, confess, you dress up like a big old pile of yummy seeds to attract their rapt attention? However you do, birds do like you. (Me too) Read a book once how some folk walk through trees, what birds?, they say. But they move like a wheelbarrow of bricks. Birds long seen & heard, left or gone quiet. Takes a knack to move like you’re no threat, just making passing friends. That charm seems yours. Beautiful.
So kind and thoughtful of you Neil and so appreciated too. I love birds and they do perhaps sense it as they are very smart creatures. Take good care my friend and thank you very much დ
Love the colors, DOF and sharp focus in all of your photos, Cindy!

Hi Cindy, I love seeing goldfinches! I’ve never seen a lesser goldfinch though; I don’t think we get them out East.
They are a treat especially since they only started showing up here this year. Now there are lots and I am happy! There are three types in the US. Happy you have them to enjoy დ
Nicely lit. 👍
Thank you Sherry დ
I saw some Goldies in spring. Not sure where they went. I’ve got purple finches, and red Cardnials and Blue Jays… and of course Black birds!! 🙂
What a wonderful, and colorful collections Jules. I envy you with your cardinals! დ
I think I have something called a Redpoll – they almost look like a finch or a wren. 😀
Wow! Googled them. So pretty & unusual.
🙂
I was looking up blackbirds – not all black birds are all black!
That is absolutely true.
Odd how nature works 🙂

So appreciated Anita. Thank you. I am so impressed with your photographic talent my friend დ
Mr. Goldfinch looks very handsome and sophisticated. Nice shots.
The males are truly striking birds დ
I’ve heard that the male is more striking than the female in the bird world. Is that always true?
Yes, mostly true, with a few exceptions. Check this out: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-are-male-birds-more-c/#:~:text=Phalaropes%2C%20sandpipers%20and%20button%20quail,evolve%20in%20both%20sexes%20simultaneously.
Thank you for a great article. I’m not a scientist and find technical articles difficult to read (I get bored easily😂) but this article was very well written for a layman such as myself. I guess there’s an exception to every rule and wouldn’t you know that Darwin would break it all down for us. Thank you, Cindy.
Smiling. Very happy you enjoyed & take good care.
Oh so wonderful to enjoy intimacy with the goldfinches here, Cindy. You did a great job of capturing that special lemony element that I love so about goldfinches.
Thanks so much! They are wonderful little rays of flying sunshine დ
Cindy, you definitely have a magical ability to captivate birds, they can pose for hours for a photo shoot. 🙂
They are naturals!!! No makeup needed 😉 😉
💛
Lol, beautiful golden stars. 🙂 <3
Perfect name for them! დდ
