Of course, a lovely study in herons. Statuesque (sp? had to look that one up). Why does that make me think of you? Don’t know. Take as praise, if you please. Moreover, me don’t mind making up myth on the spot. Good fortune then, this heron on top of your roof. Better than me climbing up there! Fun is also a good word describing you.
So happy you enjoyed him Neil. It is much better that he be on the roof than either you or I! 😉 Take good care my friend & thank you დ
Beautiful captures Cindy !
Thank you very much დ
👌🏻📷👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Stunning work, Cindy! You have created works of art!
You just made my heart smile Michele დ
😊
The Holler Heron really is a beauty!
Stay safe, dear Cindy!
You too my dear Martha დ
Beautiful bird and fluffy feathers!!
Yes! He is dressed for success! 😉
Wow soooo gorgeous
He is a delightfully dapper dude! 😉
Egrets are such elegant birds… and you captured this one’s magnificence so well.
Grazie mille Janis დ
Such a beauty! Lucky you, Cindy. Thanks for the amazing shots!
He looks like he’s wearing one of your gowns Resa! Cheers to you my friend დ
These are so beautiful and kudos to you for the perfect exposure on a white bird.
Ahhh….. Means a lot. Thank you very much დ
I’ve spent hours shooting great blues so I really appreciate this.
I so relate! It is rather ironic when they show up at your door or land on your roof დ
What luck to have such a co operative bird. However, you had the skill to capture the images!
So nice! Thank you sincerely & cheers to you დ
Goodness, what a visitor.
I love it when these BIG Birds drop by. The first time a Great Blue Heron showed up at my front door, I glimpsed it throught the glass and my first thought was, “There’s a dino at my door!” 😉
Ha!
We get Great Blue Herons around here. We are close to a river. I’ve never seen the big white ones, tho…
They are amazing birds. They are everywhere!
Oh, those feathers! I feel as if I can reach out and touch. Thank you, Cindy.
You are so welcome Jennie. Thank you for all the love you give our precious children my friend დ
That is so kind, Cindy. Thank you. 🥰

Hugs to you Gigi & thank you my friend დ
What a glorious visitor! Bravo for capturing him in all his preening glory 💖
So happy you enjoyed this handsome guy Val. I am thrilled when they deign to visit here! დ
Simply outstanding…. Word is out in the Holler avian community now, and I’m sure many more will arrive hopeful and ready for their “close up.” How absolutely wonderful for all of us! 👍😁.
You are so sweet Liza. This comment made me smile. I hope you’re right. I am ready for them!! 😉 დ
Cindy, beautiful photos… and you know I want to pat him or her. It’s a thing with all birds and me. Pat, pat, pat, make them boing on their cute short or long legs. So, this one is not as large as an ostrich: ) hooray for me.
Laughing…. He has this like 6 inch long knife beak that he uses defensively if he feels threatened and he goes for the eyes. I was told this when I called animal rescue to save a Great Blue Heron that took up residence by our front door. Giving them space works well. I have followed them around while they hunt at The Holler and they aren’t bothered if you respect their space. They remind of dinosaurs. I love them too, but I wouldn’t try and hug them! 😉 😉
Cindy, stop discouraging me all the time. 😄
Hugs though.

Fabulous, Cindy! Ready for his close up. Great sequencing.
So appreciated. Thank you Jane დ

Awww… So appreciated. Thank you Liz & cheers! დდ
Dear Cindy
what an elegant bird. We have here lots of little egrets but unfortunately not these great egrets. Thanks for sharing
The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you much more for appreciating him Klaus. I wish you and the Fab Four of Clay Health & Happiness in The New Year დ
Superbly elegant compositions
Thank you very much Derrick. I found your comment in my spam filter with 12 other bloggers I know well. Sorry for the late response დ
WP glitch, I expect.
It is best this way as it avoids disappointment. 😉 Be well Derrick.
Beautiful, Cindy!!
Thank you დ
Glad you were home and ready when your guest arrived!
I was taking out the trash when I saw him! Thank you trash დ
I love great egrets! I know they’re common birds (which somehow is a bad thing?), but they’re very beautiful, especially when the sun’s shining.
Yes! Common is good news. White herons were almost a decimated species, men and women, contemporaneously, and historically, liked to wear their feathers. White Herons are recovering from our absurdity დ
I can see why people would like to wear their feathers, they’re very beautiful! They look better on the birds than on people, though.
They certainly do look better on birds. Everyone is best in their own skin!
Very true!
I like you new model Cindy and how kind for him to fly express to your home!
I didn’t even have to pay express postal fees. He flew for free! 😉 დ
Fabulous photos throughout, from beginning to end Cindy.
You’ve got the eye and the camera(s) to make this happen! Wow
I found your comment in my spam filter along with 12 others from people I know! Sorry about the late response and thank you sincerely for your very thoughtful comment დდ
Have the same problems sometimes, so glad you found it. You’re very welcome dear Cindy
Stay safe & well my friend.
Certainly will, you too Cindy

Stunning!
He is. Birds are. Thank you Jessica დ
What a beautiful visitor, Cindy, I can almost reach out and touch his feathers!
Yes, thank you. He is an exquisite visitor დ
Amazing, hope he stayed for a while! Great images..as usual 🙂
He did actually. He definitely enjoyed commanding the shoot! 😉
These temperamental young’uns!
Gotta love ’em!
What an elegant beauty! I want poise like that. 😁
I want everything like that!! 😉 😉
Picture perfect! He was ready for his photo shoot
Yes, he was! And thankfully I was available. (I saw him when I was taking out the trash!) 😉 😉
And there he was overlooking you.
My happy day!
I can’t believe he landed on your roof, Cindy. Did he know you were a photographer???
I think it was more likely The Holler lizards! We have lots of them and Herons are partial to lizard 😉
What a stunning bird! Great shots, Cindy!
Much appreciated. Thank you both & cheers დ
Wow! How I wish for such an apparition on our roof!
It is a thrill when they drop by! დ
A mighty bird! These are beautiful photos, Cindy.😮❤️
Thank you very much Aaysid დ
Sooo flexible 😂😍
He keeps up with his hot yoga classes! 😉
Great shots of this visitor, Cindy. I wonder if there are any Great Egret weather vanes? 🙂
I googled it. There are! 😉
Nice captures!
Thank you Sharon დ
Here in Florida we see these all of the time. Beautiful photos. Blessings and Peace!
Florida’s birds are beautiful! We get a lot of them in SoCal too by the water, but they only drop by The Holler rarely. დ
Wow! Stunning, Cindy! I had no idea of their size…or their awesomeness. Thank you.
You are so welcome Sheila. Happy you enjoyed & thank you დ
Very beautiful
Grazie mille დ
Amazing as usual!
Thank you very much & cheers! დ
Such an elegant bird landing on your roof. We have lots of hawks and crows landing on our roof.
O/T: Letting you know, it seems WP is back to disappearing your likes. You left a couple of likes when you came to visit. We received the notification, but no like. Dad said they’re notorious for doing that to you.
Wonderful that you get hawks actually landing on your roof! I just discovered a bunch of bloggers I know well whose comments were in my spam filter. It is blogging with artificial artificial challenges! It won’t stop me. Thanks for letting me know about the likes. Heading over to your blog now to leave some more likes and see what happens. დ
His eye staring straight along his daggerlike beak is such an eye-catching photo as are his snowy white feathers!
Thank you Kathy! So appreciated. Be well my friend დ
Cindy, this gave me such a smile. I guess the spirit of Cecil B. DeMille was hovering over the Holler, because this guy was ready for his closeup! Wonderful shots. Hugs on the wing.
Pretty much every bird is Gloria Swanson, or more likely it’s the way around! 😉
