It RAINED – I share your joy, Cindy!!!!
I know you do and thank you too! დ
Wonderful! Enjoy the festive season, Cindy!

The hawks are happy! And so is SoundEagle!
Any friend of flying raptors is a personal friend of mine დ
Once again, I admire your featuring my fellow raptors. Keep up the good work! Seeing your photos, some might even exclaim, “I Wish That I Were An Eagle!” For your photos here and elsewhere are indeed very inspiring and tap into our desire to soar freely above our earthly existence and daily grinds.
Therefore, you are cordially invited to come and fly alongside SoundEagle in the following special post that can resonate with the (embodied, corporeal and/or transcendental) being and feeling of soaring like an eagle, whether symbolically, intellectually, aesthetically or spiritually:
This said post has very recently been improved and expanded further. It is a very good example of cross-disciplinary fertilization and experimentation involving the following domains: Animation, Art, Creative Writing, Graphics, Meditation, Music, Music Animation, Musical Composition, Poetry, Psychology, Spirituality and Video. Please enjoy!
How wonderful! Thank you for your very kind comment and heading over to your blog now დ
well that’s good to hear Cindy! I wonder how much you got? Was there any flooding? I remember how rain can turn a dry gulley into a torrent!
Yes there was flooding and people trapped in cars. The Holler just sucks the rain up and the creek begins to roar! If we get ongoing rain, the creek with continue to cut a larger bend in the lower pasture დ
I visited Death Valley once and saw how a small amount of rain can create big problems!
Glad you saw this. It can be quite impressive.
Marvelous clip. I like it the most.
Your kind thoughts make me smile! დ
You are very kind. Thank you დ
You’re very welcome 😊
It is so appreciated! დ
How wonderful. Have a great Holiday!! xo
Happy Holidays to you and yours Darlene დ
Fabulous click Cindy
Much appreciated Sheree. Thank you! დ
I was walking in New York City’s Central Park in 2005 and wondered what all the excitement was about. A hawk had made its nest on a nearby skyscraper. I was smug because a red-tail hawk flew over our Florida pool almost every day, and I never tired of seeing it on my walks or bike rides.
Wildlife in NYC is always a bit of a surprise isn’t it. They have coyotes too დ
Yayyy! Rain at last, everything will bloom again Cindy 🤣 😂 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 🎅🏽 🕊 🎄 🎁 ⛄️
Yes! It is wonderful. The grey lifeless shrubs are turning happy green! დ
It must be Christmas too, I even got to make a comment 🙂
Oh dear, are The WP gremlins afoot again????? Why can’t you comment?
It has reached a place where I can comment once in every 10 or 15 posts. I have commented on them all but alas I disappear into the internet neverlands. It isn’t just you, it is happening to many blogs I visit. Some I’ve been totally blocked, I’m probably too noisy or something 🤣 😂
Have a Merry Christmas dear lady, may their be more gifts of rain in a thirsty land 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 🎅🏽 🕊 🎄 🎁 ⛄️
It is so strange how these harmful WP issues disproportionately impact certain blogs. I would really like to find out why this is. I am so sorry you are experiencing this. I know first hand how frustrating and harmful this sort of ongoing experience is to your blog. I wish you and yours a Most Merry Christmas Mark and look forward to sharing 2022 virtually with you.
PS- I am going to check my WP spam filter and see if any of your comments are there……
Thank you very much for your wishes kind lady, and may the gremlins take a holiday too. Maybe its the aftershave I use? 🤣 😂
Happy Holidays Gremlins! Now go away! 😉 😉
Fine shot and excellent news
Most appreciated Derrick. Thank you & cheers დ
That is the best news ever, Cindy! This may be the first soaking for some tender young fauna born during the drought. Can you imagine what their first experience of a cloud burst must have felt like? Instead of those dry dust baths birds have to take when there’s no water to be found, they can luxuriate in real puddles. How awesome that is.
Yes it is such welcome relief. Our bird baths are overflowing with fresh rainwater! დ
Thank you. Be well დ
Fantastic capture, Cindy 😃
So appreciated. Thank you! დ
I am so happy for you and the hawk. We have had masses of rain, too, but there are no hawks in my sky; just blackbirds. They have their own beauty and charm.
Thanks Mandy. Blackbirds are beautiful, especially in bright sunlight when they appear purplish-blue. They are smart too დ
Oh, yes, they are so smart!
Corvids are super intelligent creatures. Check this out: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20191211-crows-could-be-the-smartest-animal-other-than-primates
Great article. Thank you.
Your shots of the hawks reminds me of Tagore’s song, my mind is a friend of the clouds it soars up in the sky. 🙂
How beautiful. He is such an eloquent writer დ
Happy you got rain.
Thanks much & cheers to you Eunice დ
I am so glad! 💙
Thank you Alethea. It is a huge relief დ
Hope there’s more rain on the way soon – you all sure need it! Glad you got some.
Thank you and I think there is more rain on the horizon and more snow for the mountains დ
Hurray for the rain!! I know how thirsty The Holler was.
Thank you Liz. It was scary dry დ
You’re welcome, Cindy.
Cheers to the rain and to the soaring you captured.
Grazie mille Frank დ

A beautiful photo, Cindy! They are common in Michigan, circling high above looking for the next meal. ❤️
I bet they are very happy in Michigan დ
They are smart enough to love the rain. Beautiful shot!!
I love taking photos of them when they are covered with rain drops. So pretty დ
Rain for Christmas! Hurray!
The best present possible! დ
Cindy, I’m so happy for you … and the hawks! Rain, after such a long, dry season, is a welcome treat. Now, please don’t send it our way, okay?!
The rain was a God send. Agreed. I’ll keep the rain and send you some sun! დ
HOORAY!!! ☔️💕 And look at your gorgeous, happy buteo!!
He is a beauty isn’t he and I love the term buteo, it sounds like beauty-oh which is an apt descriptor დ
LOL! True! 😍 Happy weekend, Cindy!

I wish it would pour in Fredericksburg, too.
Fantastic picture, Cindy! 😉
Thank you Pit. I know how you feel & hope the rains come soon დ
These are beautiful birds – unless you’re a mouse or a gopher.
Very true! 😉 დ
Reblogged this on http://www.thereikicafe.com and commented:
Do you find hawks as majestic as I do?
I definitely do! Thank you for caring about them Gina & cheers to you დ
Much needed rain! With his aerial view, the hawk probably knows better than we do how the drought threatens us all.
Yes indeed. Hawks are wise creatures! დ
Cindy this is a great image of this Holler .Makes me smile.
Your comment just made me smile. Thank you & cheers დ
Yay, you got rain!! And that’s a terrific photo of a red-tailed hawk! Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas, Cindy! I love your picture-ful posts, and look forward to more in the New Year!
You are such a light Kathy. You shine my friend! Merriest Christmas to you and your family. I am grateful to have another year with you დ დ

Chuckling….. So true! Merry Christmas John დ
So happy you got some rain! 👏👏👏🥳
Yes, thank you Alison, Everyone, flora and fauna, is intensely relieved დ
Gorgeous! Hawks are amazing creatures. Very exciting to see them in the wild and through your capture. Thank you.
Thank you more for appreciating the awesome hawks. They are so smart. They greet our car when we return from trips. They fly low down to our car as we drive down the driveway. I think they are incredible დ
My pleasure. I love hawks and delight when I see them in the wild. They are beautiful creatures that hold great symbolism for me. How wonderful that you are greeted by hawks! During the summer of 2020 we were in Flagstaff when we had the delight of seeing a red tail hawk in a tree. I took several pictures. I learned the next day, from the property owner, that the hawk was injured, and a wildlife rescue group came to pick it up. I pray it made a full recovery. 🙏🏻 The injury explained its odd behavior in the tree. Poor thing. I also learned, through her, that the hawk was a male and according to the rescue team, there was probably a female nearby who might stay close, since they mate for life. A beautiful nature love story. 💕
That is a beautiful nature love story. Thank you for sharing it Michele. Many birds mate for life. Humans could learn a thing, or ten. from them!!! 😉 დ
My pleasure to share. Yes indeed! 💕
That’s wonderful news. Let it rain (or snow) some more!
It is snowing a lot, both in our nearby mountains that we can see from The Holler, and in The Sierras which are getting a very healthy snowpack which provides water to the state in the spring, summer and fall დ
I’m glad for you!
Thank you Tanja. Another storm is on the way. We have enough snow pack now that we are no longer in drought condition. Merry Christmas!
That’s good news, Cindy. I also wish you a happy (and maybe white) Christmas. 🎄
