What would it be like to live in paradise? Can you try and imagine? (Please click to enlarge). Here are the tools of trade for living in Huahine, outriggers, fishing boats, nets and boat hangers. Guava, Papaya, Coconut, Breadfruit, Passion Fruit, sweet potatoes and Bananas are everywhere growing wild. Fish are teeming in the lagoons. Chickens roam at will.

This man was fishing with a drop line, he saw my camera, and performed an ocean akido for us! How beautiful is he and so at home in his sea?

This is Huahine’ main archeological site with a traditional house, even the palm trees are laid back here.

Lots of folks want to experience paradise on their own terms.

They sail The Society Islands, stopping where and when they choose. They stay for a long time in Huahine. Smart sailors.

And always the pounding surf on the fringing reefs, sings you to sleep at night and awake in the morning.

The fringing reef protects the island and gives it such ethereal hues.

And at the end of the day, this is home!
Oh, and if you are thinking of visiting Polynesia, consider Huahine. If you like to avoid tourists and development, you will be very happy here. Just watch out for the coral!
Cheers to you from incredible Huahine~

It would be lovely to live there.
It would! <3
It looks absolutely Devine!!!! Enjoy 😊😊
Alas my stay in paradise will soon come to an end!! 😉
Enjoy it while you are still there, hopefully you will get to return to paradise again 😊
You found and are so kind to share paradise with us. Thanks Cindy, enjoy for all of us 😀
Just happy you enjoyed & cheers to you~
OMG….I sooo miss the summer. Lovely pictures.
Merci beaucoup & spring is coming!
I was fortunate to have visited Tahiti and Bora Bora a few years back. I met an Austrian gentleman who had left home 40 years prior and never returned to Austria. It’s true, it is paradise.
Yes, these people seem smarter than the average bear to me. Why put up with the rat race?
I’d rather be enjoying the sounds of the waves and birds than the sound of cars and tv.
You and me both. I wonder why more people haven’t figured out the civilization makes you sick?
Stunning <3
Mil grazi~
Siete i benvenuti <3
Awwww, thank you!
Hi Cindy,
That would be paradise to me too, unbelieveably, beautiful!
Leslie
Awwww, so happy you enjoyed!
It is easy to see where I’d love now to be. 🙂
Well you can always visit in your imagination. I do this a lot! Good for the mind & body~
Wonderful
Merci!
I hope your foot is healing well. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. 🙂
It is finally showing signs of recovery, after I ran out of tall the meds! I think this is what is called ironic!!
That’s good, well, the recovery part, not the ironic part. 🙂
Klasse Fotos. LG. Wolfgang
Vielen dank Wolfgang! Freundschaft~
Lovely.
It is a lovely, peaceful place~
Heaven! and gorgeous. You must be having such a wonderful time!
Alison
I am and hope you are too! <3
Definitely a paradise!
I am in complete accord!
Every picture you show just makes it look better and better.
xxx Huge Hugs xxx
Yay! I’m improving with practice!
So tempting. I hope you had a good time there. By the way, the pictures are great!
Very kind & most appreciated~
These are just so beautiful, Cindy! Makes me wish I’d sneaked into your luggage and tagged along — I could sure use a lovely beach side rest in the heart of winter!
Wish I could beam you over here! Where’s Scotty when we need him? 😉
There must be some disadvantages. How about island fever after a long time in paradise?
Yeah, there is that! Let’s think of others, too many beautiful empty beaches get boring after awhile? Who wants to eat so much tropical fruit? The warm weather makes you too lazy? There is altogether too much napping going on in a tropical isle? The dogs are always sleeping and too lazy to bark? I could go on and on, paradise is lost on me just like Milton. 😉
Big sigh, Cindy. It seems so relaxing there. Nothing but the sky, the surf, the sand and the multi-hued sea! I love that even the palm trees are laid back! 😉
Me too, why should they stand up straight? Whose gonna make them?
Incredibly beautiful!
So happy you think so thanks!
Oh my – as I sit and type this with a winter chill in the air and see the colors of the sea in your pics……. well, sigh, I’m in. I’m packing – or at least imagining packing. 🙂
Thank you for sharing.

Imagination is the most epic traveler of all! I even mentally travel while traveling!
Hahaha. I get that.
Your beautiful images look so inviting. I want to let you know that I nominated you for the Versatility Blogging Award. If for any reason you decline the nomination, I will not be offended.
Awwww, so very kind and most appreciated! Thank you for your thoughtfulness~
You are so welcome, Cindy. It is well deserved.
Lovely. I was there only last night. 🙂
Does anybody want to buy a mutilated alarm clock.
Laughing!!! A man after my own heart! Alarm clocks have never been my friends, blasted things. I think they are against the law here. You get sentenced to picking mangos if you are caught in possession.
LOL
Ah…Cindy, paradise indeed…especially that final photo – just wondrous 🙂
Jim and I are in agreement that this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed, with fabulous French food! It is mostly empty now off season…..
Looks perfect 🙂
Paradise exists….. he, he, he….Have fun my friend….
Milton was so wrong, it was never lost……
You are so cute Cindy…. Kisses my friend
(and yes he was wrong ….Paradise is not lost…It is here on earth for people that loves life)
<3
wow! so wonderful! <3
So glad & most appreciative!
I am thinking about running away from home. Thanks for the encouragement Cindy.
I seriously think you should GO! Caregivers need breaks big time and you are due one BIG TIME! You are soooo close to the Caribbean???? Email me in a week or so if you are serious. I could help arrange respite care paid for by Medicare…….What is the point of having a blogging social worker friend if she can’t help out anyway? I can do some stuff besides travel! I think I remember how……. The offer stands if you are interested.
Thanks Cindy, I will give it some thought.
Beautiful pictures of the place. You have captured the essence of the place.
Awwww, such a good friend! <3
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL….CALGON TAKE ME AWAY TO PARADISE!
I think you are here already!!! <3 <3
Simply beautiful.
So glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for taking me on this amazing e-tour! (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥
Having you along makes the experience so much better!
Beautiful pics, I get a great since of relaxation viewing them…excellent 🙂
Wonderful! That makes me feel great. Relax and unwind……
Yum, you just named all the various fruit that I love! Incredible beauty there indeed! 🙂
If you were here, you can pick as many as you can eat! Your birdy could eat them too!
Oh yes, my birdy would LOVE that! 😀
Paradise, indeed! Beautiful photos, Cindy! Love the traditional house, and the water is so blue…
Blue Huahine!!
Take me with you, Cindy! Awesome post and safe travels.
Come on over the place is practically empty since it is off season!
Smart lady 🙂
That’s a true paradise!! So serene and beautiful. Thanks for taking us there!
Thank you more for the appreciation! <3
Absolutely it’s beautiful paradise!!! Wonderful pics!!!
Very glad you enjoyed and wonderful to hear from you!
Have you ever wanted to buy a sailboat and sail off into the sunset, Cindy?
Not really. I read too many books about people who sink and are set adrift for weeks on end. I go cruising instead to get my fix of being on the sea!
Ah, Cindy… where’s you adventure spirit. 🙂 Then there was the time our son lost his motor and the wind about the same time when sailing down the coast of Mexico… and the time i had to be towed in off the coast of Alaska. Hmmm. 🙂 –Curt
Sea, sand, sun and the ocean.
That is my kind of enjoyment.
Love this post you have shown paradise perfectly.
Sounds much like your home and it’s beautiful garden Jack!
Now that’s a place to go and live at… lovely photos…
Yes, but wouldn’t you miss all the African animals?
The second to last photo is a winner. Makes me long for a Pacific paradise. 🙂
It must bring back happy memories of your childhood!
Oh it does, it does.
Ahhhh, so relaxing, would you ever want to leave… How are the coral cuts? hope they have healed ok…
As of yesterday they started to scab over, so still no ocean, until they are completely healed, but I am on the mend. The tropics slows healing down…..Thanks for asking!
Yes you have to be extra careful in the tropics.
It does look pretty perfect – hope you’ve healed!
Thanks much for your concern & cheers~
Looks so blue and warm. Here even in Spain we are having long cold and grey January days!
I remember those days! Hope the sun comes out soon~
I would seriously have a hard time leaving that place. Stunning.
Yes!! I will too! Cheers to you~
Cindy, what a lovely and serene place. Thank you for sharing! Hugs! Veraiconica
Hugs and all good things back to you Veraiconica!
Paradise indeed! How are you? No more incidents I hope. 😉
I left a message and it disappeared. ???
Paradise indeed! How are you? No incidents I hope. 😉
Finally healing, ironic, as soon as the antibiotic pills/ointments ran out they started noticeable improvement. Thank you for asking Fae & be well my friend~
how beautiful….thank you for sharing
Thank you more for appreciating!
So very beautiful and so peaceful. The wild fruit growing all around sounds wonderful! I’ll start packing! 😀
Please buy cat and dog food at the local store. We’ve been feeding the feral cats and dogs and I am worried who will do it when we leave. The hotel doesn’t approve of me doing this, so I hid a note in French and English in the hotel room information notebook. If you come, I know it will be taken care of !!! Besides I want you to go on vacation, as you well know, and this place is paradise, except for the feral cats & dogs.
