Are grace,

in the sky,

and charmers up close.

Mexico,

off season without the tourists.

Arte de Mexico,

on every street and every home.

I have been flying around like the birdies and am not posting quite as frequently, but just like the birds, I will always drop by to see what you’re up too!

Cheers to you from Mexico & Hope you are safe & well~

  1. Cindy, I’m really enjoying your posts from Mexico. Your photos are absolutely exquisite — such a gift to see the world through your travels. Thank you for sharing them!

      1. You too Cindy 🙂 my camera is getting old me too lol I have been dragging my feet about two solo watercolor shows what with everyone hating on one another I just wish I could sit and focus on birds all day <3

  2. Happy travels, Cindy (I’ve been wondering what you were up to!). The blue feet on these birdies look like Smurfs! And I love those colorful Mexican villages — so cheery!

  3. A bird once flew & pooped on my face!! Said poo could have landed on the roof of which I was walking parallel, but no, it did not. My mother-in-law said that it was good luck… to which I thought: what witchy realm are you from, I do not feel lucky. Blessed with love & basic amenities & so forth, I am… but luck… and from poo upon my facial everything… well let’s just say I saw no extra good fortune within the year or in the upcoming year(s), unless that is when I acquired our Murph.

    1. WP did not put your comments in my admin page so I missed it until now. Hilarious! Thanking you for making me laugh Dawn. I feel really uncomfortable saying this because it is tempting fate, but I have never been crapped on by a bird, despite the many hundreds I have purposely stood under. Once at Easter I was at the beach with my kids. My son was about 3. A seagull swooped down and stole the stuffed chickie he got as an Easter present. He was unperturbed, saying, repeatedly, “Don’t worry, he will bring it back.” I kept trying to tell him the gull would not bring it back, but he was adamant. Hours later when we were packing up to leave, the gull comes swooping back, and drops the chickie in the sand in front of my son. I swear this is true and there were witnesses. My son, runs to get the chickie, saying, “I told you he would bring it back.” The chickie was intact, except for the motor inside that made it cheep, which had been neatly pecked out. Now you tell me, what was this birdie doing? As far as poop though, with high flying birdies, it is just luck and hit or miss!! Sorry your birdie buddy didn’t miss. Cheers to you Dawn.

      1. I can’t convey how big you made me smile as I read this (with Murph – don’t judge me)!!
I still don’t want to do this alone.
Your son seems to be in tuned to nature. That event is amazing!! I believe that the motor was neatly packed out! I was just mentioning about 5 minutes ago to a fellow blogger (Timothy) about a genius thing
I saw a house sparrow do! “Bird brain” is a compliment😁.
        Huge hugs, Cindy.
Does your son still have a unique connection to our much-needed animal coexisting friends? He saw, you know. He saw it in advance.

        1. I judge you Dawn and find you guilty of the charge of being a remarkable human being. Thank you more for making me smile, again. And yes, Matt is intensely connected to the critters. He studied rattlesnakes in grad school. I am not sure Murph would approve but I am sure he will not judge. I used to be terrified of rattlesnakes, until Matt helped me see their beauty and their fear of us.

    1. Yes! So GREAT to hear from you! Moved around all over the place, focusing on nature; outskirts of Mazatlan (beautiful), Manzanillo, Loreto, La Paz, Cabo of course,… etc. Want to make it back to Queretero where my daughter studied abroad for the year and some of The Colonial Cities. Beautiful as you know. Hope all is well with you and yours. Thank you for dropping by დ

      1. How nice. You did get around. I didn’t know your daughter had studied in Queretaro. A very beautiful city. It must have been a wonderful experience for her.
        Take care Cindy. 🙏🏻

  4. Your son story shows that in our childhood time we can feel, think and understand birds and animals much better than later on. We lost our ability of all these senses.
More precisely, we replaced them with unnecessary and unimportant things.
    Beautiful pictures from enjoyable trip!

    1. We understand each other so well Alexander. Thank you so very much for knowing this. Children’s innate and complete love of animals and nature shows the amazing potential of human beings. The fact that education and enculturation so often destroys this precious innocence is one of the things that most disturbs me about adult human beings. I hope you are safe and well my friend. And I am grateful for knowing you დ

      1. Thank you Cindy, I am well. I am really happy to be your follower and virtual friend for all this time. It seems to me we grew up in the families with the same values, read the same books, and have the same faith.
Have a nice and safe trip.

  5. So sweet! Hey, do you remember how we followed each other? We had a political disagreement (the # 15 is involved), and you subsequently followed me. I thought that was so cool, so I saw some posts of yours & thought you were an awesome (despite our opposing views, bc those don’t matter all the time) nature lover, and I adored your posts. You have been a most enjoyable friend on this platform. The link you shared is so informative and enjoyable, and your words…. beautiful!! I am so grateful that you shared this link with me.

  6. Egad, Cindy, I try to reply to a comment, and it makes me reply to the post itself. Thank Matt, please, on my behalf, although it’s his nature (and admirable), to love our beautiful snake friends too, for studying them and teaching his sweet mother of them. No, our Murph would approve (in his safety:), he wants this of humans, to know and love all. He is a lizard of deepest love & understanding. And if anyone doesn’t think a lizard can be so wise & loving, he or she is either ignorant of their capabilities, or are undeserving of the experience of such companionship. Some lizards are wiser than others 🙂 old souls, if you will.
