Insane cockpit view from inside the Blue Angels Diamond. Notice how the pilot grits his teeth and grunts. That’s to keep from blacking out as they don’t wear G-suits. It’s all muscles. These guys have abs of steel.
For snowbirds, the Blue Angels winter home and training facility is in the Southern California desert at Naval Air Facility El Centro, California. Thousands of visitors from Canada and northern states come to visit and watch the daily training flights over the base or out at Shade Tree — a military reservation in the middle of the desert.
Wow! Thanks so much for the video. Incredible. This is just where I was. In the desert, in the middle of nowhere. I knew about the g-force, but the video makes it so viseral. I worked with the military as a psychotherapist for two decades in SoCal. Knew the fighter community well. Amazing video 🛦🛦
Now that would have been a delight to watch Cindy, especially since they are artists too. A lovely butterfly in heaven. A great share kind lady, thank you 🤣❤️🙏
I think that’d be something my husband would totally like to do. He loves theme park rides. The faster, the scarier, the better. Me? Don’t like heights, or going fast, bwak bwak 🐓
Blue Angels or Thunderbirds? My guess is the Thunderbirds since their home base is Nellis AFB and the Sonoran is closer to Nellis. If anyone knows, it is my dad, who is currently unavailable.
The Sonoran desert is southern Arizona, Southeastern California, Baja California, and Sonora, Mexico. Nellis is near Las Vegas which is in the Mojave desert.
Well, you’re still doing “birds” aren’t you Cindy! Thanks.
From two points of view – what an awful waste of money, fuel alone is astronimcal. Better ways we might spend our coins? Yet I CONFESS I love the technical amazement of these flying machines. Big questions about how we all, us humans, relate on a global scale.
These photos make me feel that which I always feel when I see fighter jets & hear their sounds of power. Despite my apparent claustrophobia and the possibility that I may spew forth undesirables and/or pass out from G-forces, I want to fly in one! I’m partly aware of the testing, training, & cost involved to simply be a passenger. They are so awesome!! We wouldn’t have them without great minds, strength, and reverse-engineering of alien technology. 😁Let’s just say, sometimes, when I see them overhead or on television breaking the sound barrier, I’m grateful for padded bras.😂 Can I type that? You can delete that
Cracking up…… Thank you for the morning giggles Dawn! I see a lot of what I am guessing are drones over the desert, doing very unususal maneuvers…… Why didn’t I think of it? Reverse alien technology. Of course!!! Thank you Dawn (and Murph, of course) for keeping me straight. Cheers to both of you 🛦🛦
Unusual maneuvers… hmm…
Well, it’s been said that whatever tech we see, governments possess an estimated 50+ years ahead of that in more advanced technologies.
Glad we could help😁
Growing up in Colorado, I lived out in the country, in the flight path of the former Lowry Air Force base. I frequently saw the Blue Angels practicing, and never grew tired of it. The physical and mental discipline required of those pilots (and their ground crews) is incredible, and they are a very effective recruiting channel. Thanks for sharing!
Cindy, wonderful captures of this amazing jet display! At first glance I guessed they were the Navy Blue Angels and after reading many of the comments I see I guessed correctly. How fun to be able to see them practice. I grew up seeing the Thunderbirds at air shows but I have also been to a Blue Angels show. I love to see them both!
How wonderful that you got to see them practice! I can only imagine the dedication and courage it must take to do this successfully. I’d love seeing them, but I’d be scared silly to have to do what they do!
Fancy summer fun!
Not quite the beach 😉 Hope all is well with you Brad 🛦
Thanks Cindy. Yes, the beach would be better but fun is fun. 🛦😊
Yep. Looks like fun to me!
Fun!!
Thank you!🛦
Amazing display, Cindy! I recently watched the Prime Video documentary on the US Navy Blue Angels. Nail-biting closeups of their aerial stunts.
Yes! I have seen them practice many times. They are incredible🛦
What a treat that must be!
🛦🛦🛦🛦
Practicing for a show? Great shots.
Thank you. They do a lot of flying practice in this area. There is a Naval Training Base nearby 🛦🛦
Such skill! I can barely drive a car…LOL!
Laughing….. This is well beyond my skill set! I’m bad with the simulators!! 🛦🛦
Those pilots are fearless!
They are amazing 🛦🛦

I love it, but can’t shake the feeling off that they risk their lives for nothing in those show-off shows.
I hear you. This wasn’t a show. It was practice in the middle of the week, in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere 🛦🛦
Now that would have been a delight to watch Cindy, especially since they are artists too. A lovely butterfly in heaven. A great share kind lady, thank you 🤣❤️🙏
Yes. Precision flying is clearly an technically complex art form. Happy you enjoyed Mark & cheers 🛦🛦
I think that’d be something my husband would totally like to do. He loves theme park rides. The faster, the scarier, the better. Me? Don’t like heights, or going fast, bwak bwak 🐓
I hear you Kelly….. kinda of like a theme park ride on steroids I would imagine 🛦🛦
Wonderful photos, Cindy! 😍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks much John & cheers 🛦🛦
😊😊
Sweet.
Grazie mille 🛦🛦
Nice.

So sorry Deborah. 🛦🛦

🛦🛦
Precision flying is always so amazing and such fun to watch! Great photos. 😊

Very neat Cindy!
Your shots are amazingly clear. Fantastic, thank you!
Cheers to you Resa & thanks my friend 🛦🛦
❦🌹
Wow! Was it an air show?
No. Practice. There is a lot of interesting practice flights occurring over this part of the desert. I am often fascinated by what I see 🛦🛦
It takes tremendous skill to be able to fly like that.
Yes it does. Impressive 🛦🛦
Amazing! 😊
They are 🛦🛦
Love it! They’re like our Snowbirds.
Yes! Wonderful 🛦🛦
Are they the Blue Angels? Love the way they do that.
I don’t know. They were practicing. There is a lot of practice occurring over this part of the desert. Lots of amazing drone flights too 🛦🛦
Awesome.
Smiling. They are 🛦🛦
It must be such a buzz for the pilots 😁.
Yes!
This is fun to see.
Happy you enjoyed & cheers to you Anne 🛦🛦
Clever stuff. But I think a pilot’s life is not for me …. Not those pilots anyway.
Understood 🛦🛦
😉
Wow!
My reaction every time! 🛦🛦
Understandable Cindy
Incredible!
Yes! They are 🛦🛦
Spectacular to watch… but heart racing at some of their acrobatics… you caught some amazing images as always Cindy ♥
Yes. They are quite intense and technically precise. Thank you Sally & take good care my friend 🛦🛦
Great captures, Cindy. These displays are so amazing to watch.
Thanks much Cathy. They are awe inspiring 🛦🛦
Absolutely fascinating, this art of flying!
Stay safe, dear Cindy!

Those birds can fly!!!!
Smiling…. Even upside down! 🛦🛦
Wow that’s amazing shots Cindy!
Thanks mmuch & cheers 🛦🛦
Makes my heart soar! These pilots are so awe-inspiring. I loved riding motorcycles for years but always wanted to fly…it has to be the ultimate high.
Yes! Literal and figurative high! 🛦🛦
Impressive.
Yes. They are. Very 🛦🛦
You captured all the actions.
Thank you! We were following them in our car 🛦🛦
Amazing.
They are! 🛦🛦
Well, you’re still doing “birds” aren’t you Cindy! Thanks.

I hear you Neil. We don’t do a good job of relating to each other on a global scale 🛦🛦

So interesting….
Truly amazing, Cindy.
Glad to see our warriors still have a heart for nature.
Yes. It is beautiful 🛦🛦

Surreal to me, what they do.

It is thrilling to see. Thank you my friend & cheers 🛦🛦

They are stunning aren’t they. I grew up close to Mirarmar Naval Base. Seeing them in the sky was always thrilling 🛦🛦
You did well to follow them
Thank you Derrick 🛦🛦
