(click/tap to enlarge to see the happy passenger!)

We are on the road again.

A Jaguar driverless taxi,

is a great way to roll!

No need to keep up conversation with your taxi driver.

There isn’t one!

Optimal for cruising over-crowded San Francisco.

You can fully enjoy the scenery without bickering about directions.

Back seat drivers are pointless because the car doesn’t care!

There are lots of these taxis ferrying people around Presidio National Park in San Francisco.

The Presidio,

is a blooming beauty this time of year.

Cheers to you from Presidio National Park in San Francisco~
(Note- WAYMO is a fleet of fully autonomous electric vehicles owned by Alphabet the parent company of Google. It has taxis available throughout San Francisco, and in designated areas of Los Angeles, Austin and Phoenix).

Wow! That’s fantastic. I’m ready for that after driving on our interstates with bumper to bumper traffic, mostly trucks going 80 or more mph in any where from 55 mph to 70mph .
Exactly. They have never been in an accident. I love the concept. It’s great for older people who no longer drive 🤖🚗
You are brave, and what fun! No talking, just looking at beauty.
Precisely 🤖🚗
You’ve got more guts than I do!!
Laughing….. I’ve had human drivers scare me far more! 🤖🚗
That’s amazing! I didn’t know autonomous taxis were available. You are super brave to try it.
Naaahhh….. Human drivers scare me more! 🚗🤖
True!! Human drivers can be neurotic, now with all the road rage going on.
Autonomous cars are a foreign concept for me. Maybe I should try too in SF? Seems strange to not have a driver.
All the people riding in them had big smiles……
Perfect ride for introverts!
Must be why I like it. Machines are fun to talk with. If you don’t believe me, you should listen to my 5 year old twin grandsons ask Siri questions as I drive them home. I bet you and I never thought to ask how long a narwhal can dive underwater without breathing! 😉 🚗🤖
Wow, that’s a great question!! Yup, I would never think to ask a question like that. Your twin grandsons have such curiosity! Love the little minds that are curious, eager, full of wonder and imagination.
Love to you and your family.
Thank you!! And ditto.
🚗🤖
Hi Cindy! Those blooms are beautiful!
They are gorgeous. Thanks much Josh & cheers 🚗🤖
Oh wow Cindy!!! This so cool, driverless taxi sounds scary but I’m intrigued!
Good for you. Reserved but with an open mind 🚗🤖
Right! LOL
🚗🤖
Oh my goodness.
I was talking to 4 year old Ella last week – telling her what I felt was the greatest invention in my lifetime of 78 years, and I told her it was indoor toilet flushing.
Clearly, I should have held out for driverless vehicles.
Rock on, Cindy.
Hee hee hee….. I watched a little girl and her mom ride in one. I think the mother was even more thrilled!!! 😉 🚗🤖
I just hope my very first experience in a driverless car is in as beautiful a city as San Francisco, Cindy! Hope to get there one day. Great shots. 😀
San Fran is taking hits but she still shines! Thank you Bruce & cheers 🚗🤖
The Presidio is truly lovely…what was that about a taxi..? 🙂
Smiling…. Yes, we stayed in The Presidio. I highly recommend it and you can take the taxi! 😉 🚗🤖
Wow !! a driverless taxi ! Never heard of it. I knew there were experiments going on with driverless cars but I didn’t know they already had driverless taxi’s ! What an experience it must have been !
They provide 10,000 rides a week and have 250 in San Fran alone! 🚗🤖
OMG now I feel stupid. I don’t think we have them already in Belgium. But the US is always the first whith new technology.
Beautiful Belgium. You are so lucky to live there.
I am not sure I am lucky to live in Belgium, not at the moment. We live too close to Russia and I don’t trust Poetin…..He treaten us every day with atomic weapons. Have a great weekend Cindy.
Yes. Putin is clearly not worthy of any sort of trust, except that he will do evil. There are too many world leaders like this today for any of us with a conscience to be comfortable.
Amazing experience! Hard to believe in our life time we passed the way from simple radio to AI. It blows my mind! We belong to unique generation.
You’re right. It has been a tech revolution in our lifetime 🚗🤖
WOW! Time to see them… Seems amazing. But I can’t imagine them in my city, İstanbul, traffic is crazy! Thank you dear Cindy, Love, nia
I hear you. They seem to handle crazy traffic well! 🚗🤖 Cheers to you and be well Nia.
Enjoy SF. (I would still be a bit wary of driverless cars though)
Thanks & take good care.
PS. But that’s probably the way of the future…
I think so 🚗🤖
Great photos Cindy. I’ve not been in a driverless car yet, and I don’t know if I trust the technology 😀 I’ve been to the Presidio Park in San Fransisco. The Walt Disney Family Museum is located in the brick buildings of your 4th to last photo. Where you see the red banners. We really enjoyed it. Disneys Academy awards are there and lots of original Disney treasures as well as messages from Walt on old console TV’s.
Yes! We stayed next door to The Disney Museum at The Inn at The Presido. Lovely place to stay and explore. Cheers to you Kelly.
Just a couple of little things to consider.
An empty space behind the wheel has no social connectedness.
No driver means one less person working in a meaningful way.
No technology is 100 fool-proof/accident proof.
Why on earth can’t we relax a bit more and enjoy nature a bit more instead of finding more ways to de-humanise society and become more lonely and depressed?
True. Valid points. Thank you. Alternatively, I do see incredible benefit for house bound, ill and elderly people, who have a hard time making appointments and carrying out daily living tasks without being able to drive. I am sure there are more pros and cons 🚗🤖
Oh I’m still wary of these beasts. I like having a human in control, even if they are fallible. Did you ride in one?
Alison
I hear you. We are currently on a long distance road trip. Human drivers scare me more! 🚗🤖
Ah, yes. Maybe you have a point re human drivers.
This post is amazing in every way!
Smiling….. Cheers to you & blessings too! 🚗🤖
Stunning photos, Cindy. I think these taxis are a great idea. Although, I’d also be terrified. LOL. Some things take getting used to, I guess. Hugs.
Brave New World! Cheers to you Teagan & take good care 🚗🤖
Nice shots! I love all the flowers in bloom.
The landscaper designer at The Presidio is obviously brilliant 🚗🤖
Beautiful site of SF, love it! Amazing Jaguar driverless taxi, Cindy!!
Yes. Thank you Amy. I was charmed with both დ
I’m not quite ready for all electric cars…not sure about the driverless ones! 😀
I think if they were only in a park – like area giving a guided tour? But to be out on a crowded road would make me a bit skittish. Glad you had a good experience!
Lovely blooms.
I did watch many of them drive. I am certain they are not without fault, since nothing is. But, they drove so seamlessly, I was impressed. Thank you Jules & take good care დ
Folks do not realize that the no gas cars, those batteries take quite a bit out of the environment to produce. While they may not emit ‘gas residue’ – they are not completely enviornmentally friendly or stable. But we do have to test out new things. Like the cars that park themselves… now that is somethingn I could use! Alas… I only get used cars… my last car still had manual roll up windows. 😉 But I don’t drive all that much and try to do many errands on the same day. Not to go out for just one thing. While it would be nice to live in a city and be able to walk or take public transportation… the suburbs are nice too.
Oh – I saw another Eastern Bluebird on my porch roof yesterday 🙂
We just gave an Audi to the kids. It has 165K on it and has never had a problem. Love that your last car had roll up windows. Maybe you should have kept it, a valuable collectors items. I wish I could see your Eastern Bluebird.
My old car… wasn’t any kind of classic. It served me well as a trade in. As a couple – we only ever bought one new car – a station wagon that we had so long that when I got my car with the roll-up windows, we had ‘gifted’ the old wagon as a first car to our eldest. Even flooring the station wagon it wouldn’t go past 40 up a hill!
I don’t see the Easter Bluebird that often. But I’ve got family that put out mealworms – and that attracts that birdie.
I generally use black sunflower seeds. But I get a mix for smaller birds. I’ve been reading that I can also feed (so I might mix in) rice to birds. It is a myth that the uncooked rice will swell in a bird’s stomach. They don’t swallow the rice whole either. Some of the larger birds like crows will eat rice too. 🙂
You have some lovely avian friends that like your weather better than mine 😉
It sounds like you have a lovely life Jules. Enjoy.
Simple is good. 💕
Yes.
Part of me wants to get in the driverless taxi, but another part of me is screaming NOPE! lol I love your photos. 🩷🌸
Smiling….. There maybe something odd with me, but I less afraid of this machine driven car than human driven ones დ
LOL Oh, yes, that makes sense. 🩷🌸
Beautiful scenery Cindy. But um, just no on driverless vehicles. No trust factor. 🙂 <3
Got it and thank you my friend. Hope all is well with you დ
Lol. Coasting along thanks. <3
🚗🤖 😉
Beautiful photos but I would not go in a car without a driver 😀 . When we hire a taxi, we go with a known driver. It is nice to talk and exchange some details about what is happening around us. Usually they know things that we don’t. Thank you.
Very true. Thanks for sharing 🚗🤖
I was in SF on Mother’s Day and say a bunch of these driving around. So crazy! Beautiful photos.
It is amazing to see isn’t it! The future is now. I just saw a video of one following a tree in a truck in Arizona looking VERY confused!! 🚗🤖
I am sorry but I don’t think I want to drive in that car. Interesting car. You are brave.
Thankfully, you have free choice Beverly. You are brave too 🥀
Ha! Beautiful photos!! Be careful out there!!!
Smiling…. 🚗🤖
I love the area around the Presidio. Thanks for capturing it on film to remind me. I did not even know I was missing it!
You are most welcome. It is special and unique isn’t it. It is like a little paradise with the city visible on the horizon and the bridge providing the backdrop დ
A fascinating drive in lovely surroundings!
Thanks very much & cheers to all four of you! დ
Wow, that would be something for me!
It was for me too! Cheers to you ღ
Love the car! But driverless? Well…we have driverless trains in London, so….. Driverless car ia very cool 😎 Looks awesome out there, wishbone was there too!
The WAYMO’s are multiplying, which mean they will be getting waymo confused:

Who took the drone footage of your trip?
No drones. I took the elevated photos from my hotel room 🌅
