To be perfectly clear, the wine is very fine,

but Madeiraland,

is wonderland,

so who needs wine?

If I lived here,

would I ever leave?

Cheers to you from Madeira Portugal~

have some nice stroll along the lavadas… I once made the trip all round the Island and there really is so much beauty… enjoy!
Yes, visiting the other islands must be incredible. The flora is amazing!
I still have some plants at home which I bred from seeds from Madeira…
Amazing, we have lots of Pride of Madeira, but none actually from Madeira!
Absolutely beautiful.
It is a gorgeous island!
A beautiful place.
It is and I haven’t seen any graffti!
Sehr schöne Impressionen, liebe Cindy. Herzlichen Dank und dir alles Gute. Ernst
Vielen dank mein lieber Freund Ernst! <3
Wow, amazing place!!!
It is fairyland in the middle of the Atlantic!
These are gorgeous, Cindy. 🙂
You are very kind and much appreciated Ranu! <3
It does appear to be Shangri-la, doesn’t it?!
Yes, indeed it does!
Better than a traveling magazine, Cindy. It’s look very inviting and so very different to the cold North right now. 😉
Just beautiful, Cindy. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 — Suzanne
Gorgeous! I would never leave.
We live in a beautiful world!!! Your photos are a wonderful reminder to enjoy every moment. Hugs!!!
Who needs wine, indeed, with all that beauty around you? Such wonderful blue sky. Perfect. Wish I was there with you, as we’re having a very grey and chilly Spring in the UK. Even when there’s a blue sky, the wind is from the North.
What a gorgeous place — I think I might never leave either!!
Looks like England in February… Why go anywhere else?!! Gorgeous mind you
These are all beautiful shots. I can see why people would want to live there. The top of that steep hill’s not the best place for someone who loves cycling, though. 🙂
Beautiful! Ancestors of the Portuguese in Guyana came from Madeira during a period of famine.
Beautiful place! Can’t imagine wanting to leave it if I lived there ☺
So beautiful Cindy! Definitely no need to leave. 🙂
I would love to see Madeira in winter when it is pounded by huge waves. It must be spectacular!

Gratitude for you! Thank you~
Gorgeous!
Mille grazie!
Wow! So gorgeous! My parents went to Portugal a number of years ago and my mom loved it. I’ve never been yet, but your stunning photos are tempting me!
This is our first opportunity to spend lots of time in Portugal. Looking forward to exploring. So far it is lovely~
I think I visited here in a dream once, and I could fly. Fish told me the secrets of the universe. Funny them not mentioning you.
Well, to be honest, it wasn’t the fish that gossiped about you, it was the birds, and frankly, I got tired of all the laudatory commentary. Brenda this, Brenda that……Scheesch!
LOL My poetry is for the birds. LMAO
Such a beautiful spot. Have fun!
Thanks Cynthia & cheers to you!
I definitely know that if I lived there, I would NEVER leave!!!
Even compulsive traveling me would find it hard to leave! 😉
Eye-popping photos. This is a surreal fairyland. I have no words. What an opportunity for you. I’m in awe, and drooling. 🙂
Now, I want you to visit. I hope you do and hugs to you~ <3
Ha ha. I can be packed in 15 minutes, but have to wait a while.
I really am drooling over the lush views you’ve shared. The colors are superlative. <3
This is OMG beautiful!
This is our second visit. It’s a bit out of the way for us, but if I lived in Europe, I’d come here more!
Breathtakingly beautiful!
Ahhhh, you are so nice! <3
Looks like postcard pictures!! such beautiful places! and lucky you to see these 🙂
Thanks much! It’s a bit out of the way, but worth the effort to get here.
Hi Cindy, beautiful, cheers to you !!

Cheers & blessings back to you Sherri!
I’ve just discovered a view can be delicious. Yay. 🙂
Don’t tell anyone but the island is actually better than the wine! Hope all is well with you my friend~

It’s cloudy on the Washington coast – so I’ll dream that I’m in Portugal, today!
😀
I am weaving back and forth between Portugal & Spain. My, my, they both are spectacular. Today I was given a Spanish flag because a woman appreciated me speaking Spanish. Just so nice!
This looks like paradise Cindy!! (thanks to your incredible photos, of course!) Happy travels!! xo
It actually IS paradise! Don’t tell anyone. The Azores are incredible too~
Hard to believe anything so dreamlike could be real.
I get the sense that the people who live here know how incredible the place is and don’t advertise too much. Smart people.
We were in Madeira just 6 months ago. We didn’t see picture 1, 2, 3, and 6. It rainy and our tour of the island finished fast and early. 🙁
Oh, that is such a shame! I have been twice and each visit makes my heart grow even fonder. I hope you are well Fae and cheers to you my friend~ <3 <3
Hi Cuz
How do you manage to find such idyllic places as this ? ?? Totally gorgeous ! Hope you’re having a great time . Hugs 🙂
The trick would be finding a way to stay here permanently! I think the people who live on Madeira and The Azores are some of the most fortunate people on earth.
Like the old saying says…., if there’s a will there’s a way. 🙂 🙂 😉
Often, true but I would miss the hummers! 🙂

Hi Cindy! But where the wine is?!! Fantastic beautiful places!!!
The wine is wonderful and makes an excellent wine cake! <3
So good to hear you are enjoying Madeira. Am in Rhodes so guess you will be in Spain when I am here or back in UK. Am back in Spain about late May. Enjoy and maybe you will visit again.
Well, we are certainly at different places at the same time! We will be in Rhodes next year and I have never been so look forward to hearing about your time. Be well & cheers~
It is wonderful by the old town, so medieval. Enjoy your journey.

Spectacular!! If I lived there I for sure wouldn’t leave.
Exactly. It would probably cure even my travel addiction~
I hear you. I’m thinking I need to add this to my bucket list but first I have to create a bucket list 😉
Cindy, your photographs have no rival! They are beautiful, vivid and perfect. I love Portugal, my favorite language is spoken there, so romantic! Thank you dear Cindy for brightening the day.
Your lovely and thoughtful comment just made my day and I so wish I could speak Portuguese! <3
I have bee in love with Portuguese since reading Neruda 🙂
