Street scenes in Vienna over the last few days.
With a quick glance it’s Kinda hard to figure out the decade in some shots isn’t it?
Vienna shows her classic, unchanging dignity in these shots.
But the cars, bikes, helmets and many other clues reveal the truth.

Jim gives away some more clues, but this tacky ad gives it up completely. Too bad, it’s 2013 and tacky ads are here to stay.
Cheers to you from beautiful old Vienna!
I love these–the details are so vivid
Thank you! Much appreciated~
Nice beautiful shots. I like the boxing woman.
LOL!! Oh good….she is just a tad out of place in Old Vienna….but she’s fiesty! Cheers & thanks!
You are right about the black and white…. I just LOVE the old cities.
And you will be in them very soon!! 🙂
The black and white photos are really attractive.I can see you are having a great time.Thank you for posting these gorgeous photographs.

The black and whites give a whole new feeling and ambience don’t they!
Oh Cindy! What a great idea. – black and white!!! Perfect captures that remind me of time long ago.
Yes. It does the same for me. Brings back the past! Thank you~
These captures are fantastic! I love the overall feel the black and white gives – I think it really works well.
I was surprised by this and I liked it too. So glad you appreciate it! Thank you~
An interesting perspective Cindy. I actually thought of the first few photos as from another era…moments lost in time.
The next city I go to, I may try and take a few photos that give us no clues to the timeframe and see if anyone can find something I neglected to notice. The old cities in black and white are eerie. They look like the past moving forward.
Vienna is a beautiful place… especially this time of year ! Good idea to shoot b & w… makes a difference.
Thank you for the appreciation!
Nice pictures, Cindy! Also, I have nominated you for the Super Sweet Blogger Award – please see my 5/18/13 post for details. Love, Debb
Thank you Debb. This is most appreciated. Traveling today, but will head over when I can. Thank you again for your kindness!
You’re welcome, Cindy. You know what they say….sweet for the sweet! 🙂
Delicious in monochrome–well done.
Danke! Glad you liked it!
Good choice black and white is awesome!
Isn’t it! I really liked the old world feeling! Thank you my friend!
You are welcome!
+1 for a very good choice of B&W and very nice street shots of the place.
You are so nice and I always look forward to your comments. Cheers my friend!
Loved every one of them. Thanks again for sharing.
Thank you my friend for your always thoughtful comments!
Beautiful photos!
So kind. Thank you!
Danke!!! Cheers to you!
Love the top one — great perspective!
Thank you. Your appreciation is greatly appreciated!
The black. & white gives a whole different perspective.
Remarkable how powerful the effect of something so subtle is isn’t it! Thank you~
what stunning architecture, and done in black & white its fabulous. I’ve been experimenting with b & w…love the way it changes a color shot! looks like you are having a wonderful time…I so enjoy see the places you visit…thank you!
Thank you Heather for you continuing kindness. B/W is a lot of fun to experiment with. Cheers to you my friend~
Love the timeless black and white after the brilliance of your post on the library.
Thank you for catching this contrast. Pretty dramatic for something so simple! Cheers to you~
Black and white is a perfect choice for such a rich subject – just timeless.
So glad you think so! I agree. The first photo made me see Vienna as timeless, which of course, she is! Thank you!
What an amazing trip – the city is just amazing. If not for the cars these could have been shot at an time.
I’m going to try and do a post about Prague where I eliminate as many clues to the era as possible. Readers can look for clues that I missed. I love the BW and this my first time doing it. Cheers & thank you!
I love your comments that come with each photo. Thanks for the chuckle and I love you for it. 😀 )))
So glad…..Love your blog always!
Wonderful architecture, and amazing that it survived unscathed from the war…
Yes, I have been thinking the same thing since I arrived here!
Amazingly beautiful photographs. You are a genuine talent behind that lens of yours…
Ahhhh. Very kind of you. Thank you!
I love that so many people bike there.
Like Switzerland!! I like it too! Thank you~
Black and white give the scenes a real old world feel that suites Vienna so well
Yes I agree and was surprised when I first saw the shots!
Did you shoot them in B&W or did you photoshop them?
I shot in black and white…..my first time really doing this. Now I am shooting about 10% of my Prgaue photos in B/W and trying to control for any time frame clues. What fun!! Cheers to you from Prague & thank you too!
Beautiful images. Can’t wait to share with a friend who spent time in Vienna as a child. We’ll see what memories your photos spark. 😉
Let me know if she wants photos of anything specfic as I have a lot more & cheers to you!
Fantastic pics once again, Cindy. Looks like you;re having loads of fun.
Yes indeed we are and thank you!
That’s my kind of photography – stunning! Love your colour work but there is something very base level about black and white that is quite captivating – these shots are beautiful!
Thank you so much. This was my first time trying B/W and I was surprised with the result, especially in Europe where if you are careful you can take a shot and have no clue to the decade, sometimes the century!! I am doing this now in Prague part of the time and like the results and will also try it in Berlin. Thank you for the encouragement!
I like this post a lot! Perfect in B&W. I have nominated you for a Super Sweet Blogger award. You can go to my blogsite to get all the particulars. Congratulations! http://kanzensakura.com
Aaaah! So kind! Thank you. I am honored, but also traveling and pressed for minutes. I do greatly appreciate your recognition!
