  1. Pingback: Holler Blooms~ โ€” (I want to say that Cindy outdid herself with these incredible photographs, but that’s just what she always does, so outdoing herself is simply normal for her. These pictures are truly gorgeous–Gigi) | Rethinking Life

  2. I can never get over the cacti that have these beautiful bundles of flowers Cindy, like in your picture, from something that will bite so painfully. I know it is a great protection…but to draw us to it so strongly, then bite? Is that where narcissism comes from? Prickly personification…but don’t touch? ๐Ÿ˜‚โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

  3. wonderful. cacti in bloom always seem so exotic to me…

          1. Just 20 min. ride from there and yes Prickly variety does ๐Ÿ™‚ I thought a garden club member was kidding when I bought a piece from her at a fellow club’s plant sale but 3 years now mine is growing.

  4. Some friends of mine have cactuses at home and they do not impress me at all – just a briery plant. I believe they look like that because they are not at the natural environment. Looking at your pictures I understand that only being at the place of origin everything and everybody appear in all beauty.

  5. I am struck by how much beauty comes from the prickly thorns.
How much this reminds me of life.
Out of our thorniest moments can come the blooms of love and kindness.
Thank you, my friend. You never disappoint.

    1. Thank you. You and I both. My grandfather who came from Bulgaria created the most amazing cactus garden in SoCal, that was featured in Architectual Digest, among others. For him cacti were quite exotic, and he graphed them and grew varities I have never seen since. He wasn’t a gardener. He was a judge. I learned everything about plants from him แƒ“

  6. Oh, splendid, Cindy! I love cacti in bloom. Mine have done pretty well. (I have the opposite of a green thumb.) Except the prickly pears. Unlike your gorgeous ones, for some reason that variety just doesn’t grow in my garden. Doubly odd since they are so common here.
Thanks for this beautiful tour. Hugs on the wing.

    1. So pleased you enjoyed Teagan & thank you. That’s odd that your pricklies won’t grow. They tend to be hardy. I want to get the lavendar prickly pears. They are so unique looking, with lovely blooms. Stay safe and well my friend and happy you stopped by แƒ“

  7. Oooh! So much prickly loveliness to enjoy๐ŸคฉThey’re amazing plants ๐Ÿชด in how amongst all that prickliness (oucheee!!๐ŸŒต)they still produce such a range of colourful flowerings ๐Ÿ’ ๐Ÿ˜€
