  3. That bald eagle is stunning. I love birds so much and these pics are great. Thank you! If I could be any bird I’d be a peregrine falcon. I remember in Jonathon Livingston Seagull how Jonathon tried flying faster by thinking of a peregrine and trying to mimic their smaller wings. ♥.

  8. A story was told to me about a boy who went hunting with his dad. The boy now a man shared his story with me. The boy had a hunting rifle, saw a big bird in a tree staring down at him with a piercing gaze. The boy challenged the bird’s daring stare. Moments passed and the boy shot the bird. The boy who is now a man, remembers the bird’s piercing stare. From the waters from which I live, and upon the urban areas, forestries and jungles of the world, birds are heavenly, intelligent creatures that deserve love and respect.

            1. I search for the grizzlies, from a safe viewing distance of course! Of course I far prefer finding them versus the other way around! I do not like being surprised by grizzlies on a trail which is why I make a lot of noise in grizzly country and never hike alone დ

  41. Absolutely stunning Cindy thank you so much for sharing. The only raptor we see on a regular basis is in the spring and it is the Sparrow Hawk. We have a long wood stack on the back on the garden near to the bird feeder and the hedge that is the sparrows sanctuary. He or she blends in so brilliantly and whilst I love my garden birds this is such an amazing visitor. If I go out its head turns in my direction and gives me the ‘look’ ♥♥

  49. Cindy, these are beautiful photos. I have long been fascinated by owls, and had the pleasure of living near a couple of them once. Never got as close to them as these pictures display, but enjoyed them at a distance as they went about their business.

    1. I love owls too. We have Great Horned Owls that sit on our roof nightly. I serenade with them. We also have nesting barn owls and burrowing owls nearby დ

  50. i watch a few youtube channels. One is called “Outdoor Boys” (father + sons do fun, outdoorsy things).
    Recently they were in Dutch Harbor Alaska. While walking around there were bald eagles everywhere, like crows, or vultures. I had to laugh when the host spied one sitting on a big trash bin. “Oh look, a dumpster eagle.”
    Never thought I’d hear a phrase like that.

    1. Bald eagles frequent places where people throw out food. I got great, super close-up images in Canada from eagles that visited the fish refuse site of a nearby lodge დ
