New Wave~

Check out Jim at The New Wave!

The New Wave is a more subtle,

mostly unknown,

and far less traveled,

version of the hugely popular and overcrowded Wave.

It is located near Page Arizona,

in The Glen Canyon Recreation Area. (Where’s Jim? He is in this photo too!)

The formations of previously molten rock,

are made of Navajo Sandstone.

We hiked here entirely alone all day!

Cheers to you from The New Wave~

(Note: We are heading out of wifi range, so I will touch base when I can).

    1. Even if you win, you have to queue up and go in with scores of people. Not my idea of wilderness. There is a second wave here too, that I hear might be even better დ

    1. We are here now. Lake Powell flooded lots of it, but it still is here, and stretches from Lee’s Ferry into Utah. There is much to explore here. Lake Powell itself is shrinking extensively due to drought დ

      1. I sometimes wonder how much more I might accomplish without a satellite signal available… but then I’d never be able to post or visit… Yep! I think I’m addicted. 😂

  1. I love the shots Cindy as well as the geology! I disagree with whoever placed all those stones in a line. Why did they do that? Only humans try to add to something already perfect!

  2. Love how the divine artist’s sculptures Cindy. It is always a special time together when it is just the both of you, as well know. Beautiful captures of an interesting place 😊

    1. Here we are above 9000 ft, off grid in Colorado, and the satellite just smiled down on me so I could say hello to you! Love being away from humans and in the arms of Mother Nature. Bits and pieces of intermittent wifi, perfection!!! 😉

  3. Dear Cindy
We love this monochrome Navajo Sandstone pictures. It’s like from a geology textbook.
    Thanks for sharing.
We wish you a happy weekend

I looked and looked and was about to reply, no he’s not there when I found him. Beautiful. I have never seen anything like it.
    The wave not Jim. LOL

      1. I see Rorschach everywhere, Cindy! Even in my granite kitchen countertop. There’s totally a genie coming out of a bottle next to my kitchen sink!😂😂😂

    1. You will enjoy yourself immensely. There is another wave next to this one that is said to be even better. both are mostly unknown, so you will have privacy. The hikes originate near The Beehive Campground in Page დ

  5. Utterly amazing, Cindy! I’ve never even heard of this, but I will remember it now. Good for you and Jim to make this journey
    together!
P.S. And a welcome break from the grandsons??!!

  6. Spectacular rock formations, Cindy. I enjoyed your skills in photographing it, too, gave us a splendid overview of the wavy textures and the immensity.

  7. So beautiful where you are. Enjoy yourself Marlene! Our off grid cabin is over 9000 ft in elevation and wifi signal just popped in from the satellite, so I can say hello to you დ
