    1. And your comments didn’t show up in my WP feed. I have to come back and find who was left out. It would be a true shame to miss your thoughtful comments Derrick. Thank you for your double efforts! Stay safe & well my friend დ

  2. Wow! I’ve never thought about rain storms in the desert (although I know they happen). It must be quite something to watch one roll in. I am curious now about what it smells like. I love the wolf moon and the rain.

    1. Everything about a rain storm in the desert is magical. You do get to watch the curtains of rain move down the mountains and across the desert. The colors are always so dramatic. Lightening is especially wonderful because you can it see it so far away. The smell is like pure clean water. If the rain comes when it it really hot, even if it pours, it evaporates in seconds which is amazing to see დ

    1. Very happy you enjoyed them. The colors of storms in the desert are always so beautiful. It rained at night, so I missed the curtains of rain traveling in sheets down the mountains and across the desert. This is so lovely to see დ

  3. Saw the contrails in both without enlarging.

We’ll be having unsettled weather, beginning today with icing and an inch or two of snow. Snow again late Friday, then snow again next Tuesday. Overall, the total snow accumulation is not expected to be much.

    1. I am not at all surprised that you noticed them. The snow is good news. Our Sierra snow pack is way above normal, so we’re going skiing!! So good to have the precipitation დ

    1. Yes. It rained! We are over normal for the year, but we need it to keep coming. The Sierra snowpack is way above normal which is such good news for the reservoirs. And we’re going skiing!!! დ

  4. Nature gives us formidable landscapes and you capture it masterfully. They are photos that invite you to dream of low-flying through those endless skies. Regards Cindy

  5. Glad to hear you got some much-needed rain, Cindy! Now, do try to keep it out there because if you send it to us, as cold as things are, we’ll get ice!

  6. Gorgeous photos! I’ve never heard of a wolf moon. Is it a desert thing? I’m glad you’re getting rain. We need more snow this year! Just keep getting little dustings!

    1. Thank you Kathy. The wolf moon is the first full moon of the year. This one was particularly spectacular. I hear you about the snow. The Sierra has thankfully gotten snow pack far greater than normal which will help with the reservoirs and the drought. Hope you get more soon დ

      1. MY efforts are getting harder now, gal, with the eyes going. I do hope they get a mve on with things, but, its not good with the NHS at the moment. I’m waffling. Sorry. TTFN

    1. The storm wasn’t wild in term of danger. But, it is utterly wild, when storm clouds move over the desert. This sort of infrequent storm, saves the desert with precious moisture. You are amazing my friend დდ
