The rocks are really grippy so even I had fun scrambling around the ones that were easy to climb but I’m DEF afraid of heights!

So glad you understood! Slippery rocks take all the fun out of it for me but this was like walking on another planet. Very cool place, glad you got to go, I’m so JEALOUS!
The slippiest rocks I’ve been on are around tide pools, wanna see the pools, but the rocks are not fun. Stay safe & well.

It is hard to see scale in both in real life and in photographs without something providing perspective დ

They have a lot of technical skill and train to get more დ
To me that just looks like a death wish, but I’m sure those people are fit and don’t believe they will slip. I hope they’re right.

It seems sort of like deconstructed chess, instead of many possible moves, there is only one, you just have to find it.
I remember seeing climbers at JT. I never understood the sport’s attraction, but I am impressed with their fearlessness (or, doing it despite their fear). I’m happy staying on the ground and watching.
I enjoy watching them as well. I am impressed with their technical skills დ

I lost my confidence in heights years ago on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I couldn’t climb the last 10 feet up metal rungs to reach the bells. I froze – and since then I can’t take heights! At least I lost it on a famous building!
Understood. That must have been intense. I remember climbing the tower. It was disconcerting with the tilt. It would be even worse if there were people behind you. I remember feeling claustrophobic climbing an old tower in the UK, so I empathize with you Bruce დ

So cool. We climbed some of the boulders in the white rocks in the Sespe Wilderness area of Los Padras. It’s an amazing place.

I admire them so much. I never made it further than hiking, and even though some of the mountains I climbed, it does not even come close. A dangerous sport but so rewarding. Great pictures. Thank you Cindy (I hope I didn’t offend you in any form or way)

I’m excited to be going to Ventura and the Channel Islands National Park between Christmas and New Year!
You will have a fabulous time. Channel Islands National Park is incredible and there is so much to see. You should see dolphin and whales, maybe even blue whales on the ride out and hopefully the Channel Island foxes will make an entrance. They are adorable. I saw a booby on my last trip so be ready for wonderful surprises დ
