  1. So poignant to capture this bond between pup and mother. I feel really touched by this … and perhaps because my own mother was not always available to me. As mother’s day approaches May your feel love for the generation before and the generation ahead.
Sending love to you and all mothers 💕💛🙏

  2. Oh, Cindy, he is adorable. When I was young, there were still many a seal at Newport Beach and they would swim up to us on our surfboards, what t treat. Years later, it was the otters at Monterey Bay that stole my heart… Thank you for sharing these and I do hope the little fellow is okay.

      1. I saw something a few weeks ago that made me think of you and my friend in Sacramento (an artist and photographer). I was heading back from Narbonne and there was movement, fluttering and the sky became rose pink as hundreds of flamingos decided it was time to move on to their summer quarters. I had my phone but nowhere to pull over for photos… ;( xxx

  3. Bless … wonderful photos of the lone seal pup and a touching ‘story’ of its search for the mother. Reminds me of a children’s book I read as young when a lost duckling … hope the seal found its mother!

  4. He’s a cutie, and great shots dear lady. We haven’t had any seals for many years until recently, the odd one will crawl up onto the rocks for a snooze to the delight of the locals (and me) 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 😂 🤣

  5. This makes me sad 🙁 I would love a happy ending… I can never watch shows where animals are hurt or eaten such as the Discovery Channel – it’s too much for me!
Happy Mother’s Day to you and for being a grandma to those two cute little boys.

  6. Poor sweet thing. He is very beautiful.
At least it’s getting to live a natural life, however hard it is.
Canada still allows the clubbing of Harp Seal pups. This is despite outcries worldwide, and a falling seal products market.
    It’s absolutely gross!!!! I’m ashamed!!!

    1. I am so sorry. I wish you were PM. Who buys the coats of Harp Seal pups? Don’t answer, I’m already figuring it out, and I am sick to death of these markets. Imagine this as a seasonal job, clubbing defenseless harp seal cubs to death.

    1. Well, no wonder we understand each other. I grew up with seals, and lots of the seafaring lads I grew up with, hate them. I love the seals, the lads? Not as much 😉 😉

      1. They are beautiful. I can’t think of another animal that matches them… The deer around here try, however. Especially if they think there might be an apple handy. 🙂
