Hope Blooms~

Christmas Blooms,

opened a month late,

on January 20th, 2021.

As if to celebrate,

new leadership for the USA.

Hope delayed,

blooms and grows.

Cheers to you from The Holler’s late bloomers~

  1. Many blooming hopes and prayers have been fulfilled on last wednesday. <3 The sigh of relieve around the whole world has been clearly palpable. 🙂
God bless America, President Joe R. Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris.
God bless you and your beloved ones, too, dear Cindy. Stay safe!

  2. I love Amaryllis too. I’ve been growing them for 15 years. After they flower I leave the leaves till September and then take the bulbs out of the pot, wrap them in newspaper and put them in a cardboard box in the porch till December. Then I get them out and repot them. They bloom year after year.

  3. Stunning photos to match the amazing day on which they bloomed. Hope springs I have a Christmas cactus that has never bloomed in the three years I’ve had it…no enough light anywhere that is safe from the cats. It is green and grows leaves, but no blooms. But what appeared on 1/20? Two blooms. I got a grow light for them, and hope they and our country bloom.

  4. We’ve had Christmas Cactus bloom for Easter, have it bloom both for Christmas and Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, or just for Christmas.

  5. I love your glorious photos, and I love reading the comments they have inspired. I especially agree with someone who wrote about flowers and our mental health. After my Halloween cactus finished blooming, some hyacinth bulbs (from flowers I bought at Trader Joe’s last spring) decided that they would re-activate. I’ve been savoring their pink beauty and evocative aroma for a couple of weeks. Thank you for your photographs AND for your spirit which somehow infuses them with warmth and respect and enthusiasm for life.
