Twins in Tiburon~

Flew with the birdies,

to Tiburon California,

did a lot of hiking,

relaxing,

and sightseeing,

in The Marin Headlands.

Celebrating and staying fit with my daughter. She and her hubby are expecting twin boys!

It was our last mother-daughter time together before she becomes a mama too.

Cheers to you with the beauty of life~

  1. We’ll be at the coast here soon, too, to celebrate our anniversary. But the Texas Gulf Coast is not as gorgeous as the California Coast. We’ll enjoy it a lot, though.
    Fantastic pictures, Cindy.
Good luck for your daughter, Cindy.

  2. Lovely images you have a beautiful daughter and twins we have twins in our family hard work but bring such joy and the bond they have is amazing 🙂

    1. It is interesting that my best friends in elementary school and high school were twins, and my first boyfriend was a twin. I am so looking forward to see their relationship unfold 👶👶

      1. Yeah, that’s partly true. But, they need to live in the moment, while those twins are little and sweet and cuddley. Mine are now 13, and it seems like they were teeny just yesterday. Enjoy them every minute. 😊😊

  3. Great photos Cindy and they brought back memories. I used to live in Marin County back in the late 70’s early 80’s in Mill Valley. I worked in the former Army Medical Center that was on the Presidio of SF. I used to sail boat race on the SF Bay every Sunday after the sailing we’d all go over to 99 main (a great Irish Pub) in Tiburon. I loved that part of the country and it’s been so long since I’ve been back there. Thanks for bringing back pleasant memories.

    1. Oh my! The Presidio area is so gorgeous, and I worked as a civilian contractor for the Navy for about 20 years. Your wonderful memories trigger mine! I stayed on Treasure Island when it was just closed, in the 80’s, all alone in the female officer’s barracks. The Navy sent me to do a survey in the bay area. I remember walking around the mostly deserted island at night looking back at the city. So beautiful! I have been coming to this area all my life. I think maybe the song is true. We both left our <3 's in San Francisco! The traffic now is beyond horrible though and seriously detracts from the quality of life.

    1. Actually, they, the two you see, will be my first grandchild(ren). I am so glad someone else can’t get their mind around the ‘twoness’ of them, in one bit, either.
Now my daughter, is not only my daughter, she is the soon to be mother of two twin boys, who will be my grandsons?
It is a chunk of a change to take in.
      She is calm.
Of course she has no clear idea. Yet. What is coming.
This is one of the many blessings of life for all of us.
      Love to you Pauline <3

  4. So happy for you. Congratulations. I posted a comment to your Facebook messaging and an earlier one too to your timeline on FB, but having trouble with internet connections, etc. while staying with my daughter in NE. while waiting to get back to Loveland, CO. to get all my things to get moved out here. Just bought a house in Grant, NE. and excited to get moved in finally. Went through a divorce recently and trying to get my bearings again and get settled in and begin a new chapter in my life; long story and might write about all that has happened, and get back to blogging I hope soon, but taking one step at a time, one day at a time. Enjoy every moment with your daughter and soon to be twin grandsons. Take care. Hugs.

    1. This is a lot going on for you. The divorce is very hard. I know. I went through one. But, saying that, “Crisis often equals opportunity,” This was so very true for me. My life changed, so much for the better after divorce, and eventual remarriage. From the sound of your post, I detect a bit of a sense of adventure, “getting your bearings,” beginning “a new chapter of your life,” and then buying a new house, moving out of state. Scary, but also so exciting! Leaving a bad marriage is like leaving much more than half your troubles behind you! I wish you only the best my friend, and hope you blog about this if, and when, you want to.

  5. Oh wow! Beautiful blue pics. Awesome. Your daughter looks so elegant and congratulations! She will be busy and handful with twins 🙂

      1. Hehe…My sis has twins. Boys.3 years old now. Oh lord when she visit me, her two and my son together just burn down my roof and home a mess. Meal and bath time is doubled.

  6. Congratulations Cindy, what wonderful news! Your photographs are beautiful and your daughter looks so happy and beaming. We wish you and your family a happy and healthy arrival of the twins 🙂💖 xxx

  7. Aw, Cindy, this is so sweet. Congrats to your beautiful daughter on the upcoming birth of twin boys — hope she likes Legos and balls, trains and trucks!! What an exciting time for ALL of you!

    1. Rockets. She likes rockets and the solar system. She loved this a kid and spend a lot of time in her homemade rocket with her brother. Her nursery has a space theme, so these babies are going to be spending time in outer space, whether they want to or not! 👶👶

  8. Tiburon looks gorgeous, but it’s got nothing on your daughter. Wow! Twin boys, congratulations all around! 🌟💥💥💥🌟🌟🎶

  9. Those pelicans!! Don’t you love the Main Headlands???– open space just across from the city. And Dre is beautiful. So much to look forward to! Are you going to be up when the babies arrive? It will be an instant house-full! So happy for you all!! God Bless those new little boys. hugs Cindy!

    1. The Marin headlands are very special and totally unspoiled thank God, and yes, I stand ready to arrive when called and needed. Hugs & blessings back to you and yours Rhonda 👶👶

  10. Super photos of this gorgeous stretch of CA. Your daughter is beautiful and twins – how exciting! Will these be your first grandchildren? Babies are so much fun (for grandparents particularly)!

  11. Cheers to you, Cindy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful visit (gorgeous photos) with your beautiful daughter. Twins! Congratulations all the way around.

  12. Congrats on the coming grandbaby, Abuela!
I’ve always imagined Tiburon as such a magical place. I’m so glad you could visit it with your daughter. Thanks for the gorgeous photos. Your shots of the pelicans are amazingly clear. Sigh… the blue sky… the birds, the boats on the water, and those views! Hugs on the wing.

  13. Congratulations on the imminent arrival of your grandchildren what a great occasion to look forward to, are they your first? How lovely to have two at once, my Grandma was an identical twin and my I have identical girl twin Aunties too. Those birds in flight are really magnificent, a couple of them look like they’re sat on the wind.

    1. This means, my dear Charlotte, that you have an increased probability for twins yourself, since twins are carried by the female side of the equation. I think identical twins are awesome and lucky to have each other, all their lives. <3 <3

    1. I think we are going to have two-tons of fun!
I got this call today, “Grandma this is Michael….”
      I said, “Who?”
      He said, “MIchael?”
      I repeated, “Who???”
He said, exasperated, “Come on grandma, it’s your first born grandson Michael…..”
I said, “Michael, I am sorry, but I am pretty sure I am not your grandma…”
      Laughing…… Hilarious!

  14. Your daughter is lovely, Cindy. And special times are ahead for you as the grandmother of twins: double trouble…double fun…twice the love.
I am sending my warmest wishes for good health and happiness for your daughter, you, and the new babies – all the way from South Carolina. Bless you all.

  15. I know how you feel. We had to let go when they went to college. Now I’m expecting my first grandchild. My daughter is due in December. I’m happy and sad at the same time.

  16. What a treat to see a photo of your lovely daughter and mama-to-be. Twins! Oh my goodness what an exciting time. I’m so happy for all of you, Cindy.

I laughed at your first photo. I’m not sure why it struck me as so funny, but something about the way they beaks are tucked in made me think of a cartoon. What a gorgeous image.

    1. Ahhh…
I am so grateful for my talented and kind blogging friends, like you! <3
Peli-i-Cans just completely crack me up. They are pretty amazing birds. Watching them dive, bomb fish, hold them in their pouch, and gulp them down in one swallow, is ridiculous enough. But the way they fly is even more ridiculous. They make it seem they are sitting on air.

  17. What a simply gorgeous daughter, and such sweetness… being a grandparent is one of the purest forms of joy on the planet I always think… hope you have the chance to revel in it…

  18. Such wonderful news, Cindy! Your beautiful daughter looks so much like you! 🙂 <3 All the best for your daughter, the impeding birth as well as the whole family.

I have been thinking about you a lot lately. The news from California are simply devastating. It breaks my heart to think about the terrifying fires. Xx

  19. The situation in California is terrible. It is hard to keep track of the new fires. See: http://www.calfire.ca.gov/general/firemaps There are fires burning near the redwoods in Sequoia National Park. If the Sequoias burn, it is a tragedy beyond compare for the world. I had a dream last night about the ancient bristlecone pines burning. These are the oldest living non-clonal organisms on earth. Being amongst them is a deeply spiritual experience. What terrible legacy of destruction we humans are leaving on this planet. When I flew back to Southern California from Northern Cali, the flight was delayed for hours due to smoke. The view from the plane was nothing short of surreal. The sky was this deep opaque purple with red stripes on the horizon. The cities and landmarks as we flew over them were unrecognizable, pools of black alternating with city lights that were a strange glowing orange color. It was disconcerting and looked like another planet. Many of the fires are started by arsonists who just want to see the world burn, and of course, when is the last time our president has visited a national park outside of Camp David because of his love for nature? I wonder how we imagine we can live separate from the natural world?
Thank you my friend for thinking of California, and my daughter, her husband, and the twins. I love all the aforementioned, and wish I could protect everything and everyone on this beautiful planet. I know you wish the same. Love to you <3

  20. Absolutely beautiful photos Cindy. I can almost (just almost) imagine the wonderful feeling you must have about becoming a grandma. How exciting!! Congratulations 🙂

    1. Awww, you are such a thoughtful and kind soul. Thank you for such a lovely comment. The twins are doing well and getting very big which is very good news. She has a couple of weeks to go, but they could come at any time. <3
