Foundlings~

These are foundling fotos. (Hotel stairway, Lisbon).

Photos I don’t have a place for. (Selfridges elevator, Museum of London).

They stand alone. (Mask shop, Venice).

Unique in themselves. (Slava Ilyayev seriagraph, Budapest).

Somehow they form connection. (Gaudi’s buildings, Barcelona).

A match made of artistry. (Palau Guell, Barcelona).

Cheers to you from beauty that stands alone. (Pier, Corfu)~
Note: Photos 2 & 4 make nice desktop backgrounds. Feel free to use them if you want a change.

  1. Orphan photo’s 🙂 Every photographer has them. It’s a good idea to put them together and let them have fun. (Actually it IS a very good idea. I steal this one from you Cindy, if you don’t mind 🙂 ) I like the Corfu pier picture a lot.

    1. I am in love with that art deco elevator. It is my desktop background now, so I look at it all the time and it is so wonderful. Thank you so much for such truly kind comments~ <3

  2. All fabulous shots, Cindy! You do these gorgeous locations justice.
I have many street art foundlings. I put them on my side bar under GLaM 1 Offs. They’re small, but can be enlarged.
Still, there are many more in my archives, and I have a feeling it’s the same for you. xo

  3. The top one is like M.C. Escher in color (what a rarity that would be!). The 4th one looks like someone scattered flower petals on that painting and, as a former art teacher used to say, “Pops out right at you.” – my favorite! 🙂

  4. Oh Lynn, it is so wonderful to have a friend who gets it all, like you. I am serious. Your Escher comment blew me away. I adore him and never thought of this re:this photo, but it’s true, now that you mention it. And yes, in #4, the paint barely stays on the canvas! Be well my friend and never doubt how remarkable you are~

  5. I think I have found something perfect: “Unique in themselves, the painting: Slava Ilyayev seriagraph, Budapest. Wow, that is just something inspiring and beautiful. Amazing.

  6. Each of your foundling photos could be the inspiration for a different Weekly Photo Challenge. A simple word or two for each -stairway, bas relief, mask, path, rooflines, intersect or grid, and pier. I know they would challenge me. Nice!

  7. The mask shop is something between a dream and a nightmare… 😀 I think I could spend a few hours there!… And I absolutely love Gaudi 🙂 I almost expect some of his work to pick up its foundations and start walking – or rather, dancing… 😉 Or start reciting a fairy tale…

    1. Gaudi was so unique and so unbridled in his creativity. He put all these unmatched, juxtaposed colors and shapes together, and created some of the most original, innovative architecture and design that I have ever seen. He was not afraid of color! And I love him for it~

  8. Your posts always offer up a treat of serenity and beauty, Cindy! A real treat and thank you for the suggestion of a using as a desktop background, no.4 is stunning and just perfect for the season! 🍂🍁

  9. HI Cindy– You did it– another gorgeous (if semi-related) group of photos! Love love the first stairway photo– perfect symmetry and the beautiful runner framing on both sides! You are amazing! thanks thanks once again.

  10. Love your pics. I was in Barcelona two weeks ago, a in front of Gaudi’s houses. They were amazing. Thank you. I don’t have such beautiful pics as you do.

  11. Artistic and beautiful together make “stand alone” photographs. The stairway and painting with raised brush strokes would have elicited a poetic or prose response had I been the “captured one” behind the lens, Cindy. Hugs, Robin 🕊 💞
