Take Yourself for a Walk in Koper Slovenia~

If this Koperian doggie can,

I can, and you most certainly can.

Jim is right here, you see him, with the map, he always finds where are going.

I just tend to follow the critters,

they always take me where I want to be.

And thank you! It is so much better when you come along,

because pleasure shared is doubled.

We are still home at The Holler, but it’s cheers to you from Koper Slovenia~

  1. Looks like such a fun and exciting place to visit. I love the pictures of the old architectural buildings and the charm of the dogs and beauty of the flowers. And all is good, too , in between. ๐Ÿ™‚ Cheers, Cindy.

  2. Well thank you Cindy. Now I need to go and visit Koper as well. I ordered three extra lifes already and I just placed an order for two more. Mind you, they are not cheap! But hey, one can’t go without having seen the beauties of the world.

    1. This region is especially wonderful because the towns are relatively untouristed so you get a truer sense of the ebb and flow of life in these old, amazing towns~

  4. What a lovely place – the clock tower, the amazing old buildings, and the views. Thanks for taking me along, Cindy. โ™ฅโ™ฅโ™ฅ

  5. Beautiful Cindy, while looking at your pictures, the architecture came to my mind, the streets, facades of the building, the saying, “If Walls & Streets Could Talk” ! When you think of the generations of peoples that have traveled the streets, looked at the same buildings you shot, and the many many lives of those people that traversed those same places looking at those same building over the hundreds of years or more. What the walls and streets could tell us of the peoples past. I also have to say how beautiful your flower picture is!

You do so well at capturing a feeling and a mood in your photography, it is always a pleasure to come to your site. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Your comment was so very kind. Thank you for your thoughtful sensitivity. The bell tower in that photo was originally constructed in the 12th century. We climbed it and looked at the view people were enjoying 900 years ago. It’s just mind boggling isn’t it, and so comforting to sense we are all connected, past and present, in a continuous line of art, architecture, and human experience.
      Thank you your perceptiveness.

  6. Ha ha. We had a Westie that would fetch his own leash for a walk. All my maps have a point that says ‘you are here’, I just can’t always find it.

    1. Tee hee hee! I don’t know what I want to morph more on, your Westie, who I remember via your posts, and just the pure joy of a loved dog taking itself for a walk, all that cocky joy, the ultimate international language!
Or, how how one knows, where is ” You are here.”
I really have always wished, even though I didn’t know it until now, that someone could tell me, “You are here,” so I would know.
You are a smart man and fun to talk too~

    1. Yep, I know, we got each other from the get go. This is my biggest joy in blogging. Meeting people like you, who I otherwise would never have an opportunity to meet. <3

  7. What a lovely place to be. My brother and his wife were in Slovenia a couple of months ago. They gave glowing reports too. No dogs mentioned though! ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. I’m mesmerized by these lovely photos (ฦ†ห˜โŒฃห˜) And the doggies are too ัฮผั‚ั‘แƒฆโ™ก \ \โ–ผoใƒปใ‚งใƒปoโ–ผ/ /

  9. This one’s a feast for the eyes, Cindy — thank you for letting me tag along. I love the doggies, of course, and the flowers and scenery are magnificent!!

    1. ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿถ are the ultimate international goodwill ambassadors and they speak every language!!! Tell Dina I agree with her completely about adogables~

  10. So much fun, and so much beauty you find and show us! Thank you, Cindy!
Getting close to finishing a new Art Gown, so am blogging a bit less regularly. The doggie is gorgeous!

  11. Lovely photos, Cindy. I also tend to follow the critters! Their instinct is unmatched by humans, and I find I get into much less trouble ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ’•

  12. Those red roofs just beg to have their photo taken, Cindy. Love the dog shot… “You must walk your dog with a leash!” But we are, officer.” ๐Ÿ™‚ โ€“Curt

  13. What smart dogs they have in Slovenia ๐Ÿ˜€ Like you, I generally return home with multiple critter photo’s. I always wonder if they understand english? Perhaps I should learn “good boy” in multiple languages ๐Ÿ˜€ “Bravo ragazzo” says Boomdee as she kneels for a great long pet ๐Ÿ˜€ Koper looks fantastic! I’d love a coastal European way of life. Shopping daily for grocery, stopping to visit in an ancient square, and having these views fill your day! I could easily meld into the vista’s. Maybe a book in hand, flip-flops on my feet, heading down to the shore for the cool breeze and smells of the sea. Or perhaps in the afternoon, we’d hop onto my aqua vespa and scoot over to Italy for some “Pomeriggio caffรจ”…that’d be glorious! Thanks for the daydream Cindy xo K

  14. I hear you and share your feelings! “Shopping daily for grocery…” This is the part I would most love! The produce and food is all freshly picked or made and tastes so much better than our grocery store food. The food shopping itself is so personal and creative. The other part I love are these amazing churches where you can just sit or listen to the choir practice or attend one of many free concerts. Heaven……we miss a lot of old good things in North America~

  15. What fun pictures Cindy!! Liked to see your Jim navigating! My sister lived in Kosovo for 3 years and Slovenia was their favorite place to vacation. It’s high on my list of places to visit (along with Monte Negro since I saw your photos!) xox

  16. Gorgeous pictures and vacationing you get to do. I love dogs trying to walk themselves, my old dog would do that at the end of he walk, carry a part of her leash in her mouth. So funny.

  17. Always good to follow the critters! Much better guides than the average human! It’s always good to join you on your trips too โ˜บ You will never walk alone then!! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜€
