Happy Holler Christmas to You!

Folks at The Holler celebrate Christmas in a Big Way!

One of our neighbors fills their multiple acre property with hundreds of decorations.

Each year there are more!

Many of them have moving parts. There is a almost life size Santa flown airplane with a runway that lands!

Some are twenty feet tall and the lighted trees are taller!

And this is all done by one Hollerite family!

Christmas is serious out here. I think the coyotes are impressed because they don’t chew the electric cables and coyotes chew EVERYTHING!

To be honest I get the Christmas bug too…..

But not to the same impressive degree!

  1. Cindy, if you hadn’t mentioned that this was decoration at a house, I might have mistook all this for a parade! Most festive sight I’ve seen this season for sure! Happy to see that you’re in the spirit of things as well. Happy Holler Christmas to you as well! <3

  2. The photos are wonderful filled with the spirit of the holiday. It must be a thrill to just sit and watch the beauty of it all every night. How exciting and for the children especially. I grew up in New York and Rockefeller Center was magical at Christmas. Even now at 73 I continue to get that same feeling of wonderment when I get a chance to visit New York.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  3. What a treat to live near such a beautiful holiday display. Your decorations also are gorgeous, Cindy. You have an incredible eye for the aesthetic. Merry Christmas, sweet friend πŸ’–

            1. When you are reading a post from someone on FB, you get a reply box at the bottom, next to that is a smiley face icon, click on it, you will get a choice of FB stickers. Just click on one and then click enter. Bingo, there it is!
If you want to personalize your sticker more, you can type in an adjective in the search bar on the FB sticker page, like happy for example, and you’ll get a bunch of icon choices for that emotion.

  4. Wow!!!! That is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything quite like it. They most certainly have the Christmas spirit.
    Joyeux NoΓ«l to everyone.πŸŒ²πŸŽ…πŸ½

  5. More sweet memories in the making! God is all about parties, celebrating, community, delight and joy! The Angels made the announcement to the shepherds watching over their flock by night. They announced the arrival of the prophesied Messiah. Come see! He’s here!!! This is GREAT, JOYFUL news!! Come see! At the same time God announced the same to kingly men in the far East who were always studying the stars for signs and messages. It took 2 years of following the star before they finally arrived in Bethlehem of Judea. They came because they wanted to honor the newly arrived King with gifts. What an amazing quest to follow a star that was never before seen in the sky to peer into the face of a king that was heralded by the stars!!!

And so we decorate and delight and light up trees and exchange gifts for we are celebrating the birthday of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD! Wow!
Thank you for sharing the party in your neck of the woods! Your decorations are beautiful! Have a sweet and joyous time!
    Much love!

  6. Thanks for the Christmas joy. I did not decorate for a few years due to my MCS. This year I was going to give it a go. But as you know I have two new kittens. Ronan must be part coyote because he loves to chew everything especially wires. Wilhelmina was a soccer player in a former life and all those round Christmas ornaments would be too much of a temptation. Here’s hoping all your Christmas wishes come true. <3

  7. Your photos of the bright and colorful lights are a wonderful way to brighten the blogosphere today, stave off the darkness. Your decorations most elegant, Cindy. Greetings to the all in the Holler.

  8. Happy Holiday, Cindy. I’ll be decorating today, but I don’t think it will be quite as elegant as yours.since Tornado Boy will be here for Christmas.Ha ha. Have a lovely Christmas and amazing new year full of adventure. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

  9. Oh, my goodness me, Cindy, and there was me thinking my neighbour’s inflatable Santa climbing up his house, plus a few lights, is OTT. I haven’t put any decorations up yet, and will probably only be bringing a few sprigs of holly into the house at the last moment! Have been singing lots of carols, though, and still plenty more to follow, so am doing my bit for Christmas. Plus, I’ll be putting on my cook’s apron and dishing up some culinary delights over the holiday.

Wishing you a joyous Christmas πŸ™‚

  10. Happy Holidays to you and your family, as well Cindy. I can tell by your decorations that you are a traditionalist. πŸ™‚ I get the ‘old time Christmas’ feel. Peggy and I have been out on some jaunts to see Christmas lights. I’ll post one that featured wildlife for Christmas eve. –Curt

  11. Thanks for the smiles and happy holler holiday hootenanny! XD I enjoy Christmas decorating too and we have a family in town that creates a spectacle so big that it’s a tourist attraction!
Merry Christmas to you and yours Cindy! β˜ƒοΈπŸŽ„

        1. I can only imagine what it would be like to grow up having to put up and take down these lights each year. If you choose to do it, okay, but anything else could be heinous. Happy Winter Solstice to you!❄️❄️

  12. I nominated you for the Liebster Award – but, if your blog is award free then you are under no obligation to participate. I just wanted to show my appreciation for your excellent blog and the beautiful photographs that you share!

    1. I am honored and touched by your kindness my dear friend. I am award free but I feel your thoughtfulness like a very special gift from a very special friend. Be well my friend and thank you~ <3 <3

  14. Yours looks gorgeous and European on the table, Cindy.
In the hallway or on the entrance way table under the beautiful mirror it reminds me of Spain, Portugal or Mexican origin. This had sparkers of pinkish purple which my grandies might say looks like the new Troll’s girl, Poppy’s hair! πŸ™‚
The outdoor displays are festive and cheerful in the Holler!
Merry Christmas to you and yours and may wonders continue to warm your hearts into the New Year’s too. <3

    1. You are incredibly observant Robin with an eye for detail and miss nothing. This is unusual. May the peace of the season stay with you and yours in the coming year my friend~ πŸ•―

    1. No I wouldn’t think that at all. I don’t put out exterior lights anymore and I do modest decorations inside. I respect differences among people. Happiest Holidays to you both! β˜ƒ

  15. Merry Christmas, Cindy and Happy New Year. I love seeing all the decorations. So many in my neighborhood do very little as they are either old, infirmed or without financial resources to do much. But fortunately there are a few that can light up the world for the rest of us. πŸ™‚ Love your inside decor. Festive and happy.

  16. Wow, some folks really have it badly! πŸ˜‰ Reminds me of the Grinch movie where there is fierce neighborhood competition for the biggest display. I loved that machine-gun that spat out strings of lights, ha!
Your display is beautifully restrained. πŸ™‚ Happy Christmas to y’all at the Holler!

    1. Once the kids grew up, exterior lights were a thing of the past, and I was always rather minimalistic! Remember Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation movie, when he turns on his excessive holiday lights he’s blows the transformer for the whole neighborhood! Laughing…..

  17. Something wrong with these pictures, Cuz. What happened to all the snow ??? These pics remind me of Florida when we lived there. They decorated for Christmas there more than most places here in the Midwest

  18. We notice that the further back in the woods our neighbors are the more likley they have extensive displays. Some friends ask why we put up lights on our porch and deck when “no one will see them”. “For us”, I reply. I believe that Mary and Joseph arrive with the donkey at the stable this afternoon. The shepherd and sheep are in the woods, nearby, too. The Magi start their trek to 12th Night Monday, at our neighbor’s fire-ring. Merry Christmas.

  19. You said “Christmas is serious here”… you guys take it to the next level of seriousness. But beautiful, a very Christmassy spirit. Here in my house there are absolutely no decorations. Not even Santa came….. heΒ΄s getting old and too fat is my guess.
    Merry Christmas again

    1. Well I didn’t actually do any exterior lights, it was a fellow Hollerite whose lights you were seeing here. I decorate a bit inside though. Hope your Christmas and New Year are kind to you Charly~

  20. I am always amazed at the dedication and spirit of Christmas that these people share with the world around them, just stunning. Hope you had a lovely peaceful Christmas my friend and best wishes and safe travelling in 2017, where ever that may take you.
