Beautiful photos, Cindy! I’m not much for boats, so I admire your courage at being on one, especially during a storm!! Safe travels, my friend!
I understand your disquiet. Something in me loves storms at sea though. I keep going back to them~
OOOOhhhhh 🙂
This is what I feel, nothing here but elements, sun, sea, sky~

Cindy Knoke sharing her travels across the ocean to Spain and Portugal.. literally as she is at sea.. Wonderful atmospheric photography that really captures the mood of the sea and storm.
Ahhh Sweet Sally! Thank you my friend. I often feel at sea, so it is good to actually be on it! 🙂
I love being at sea.. the rougher the better. It is the all you can eat buffets that are my downfall!! hugs and travel safe.
How lovely! Where are you sailing to? x
Portugal and then Spain.
I am in Andalucia so give me a wave! 🙂
When I hit land, I will try!

Seems your new camera is working out well. Gorgeous!
Thank you Laura, but this is still the old trusty 400, I’m not managing the switch-er-oo real well!
Switching is hard! I love my new Sony now but oh dear do I need a wider lens. My hubby just rolled his eyes. ha!
Beautiful photographs. Have a wonderful time.
Bisous mon ami~
Great photographs. I think we’ve been sharing the edge of the same storm. 🙂
I will be in London for about 5 hours, longer if my son misses his flight!
Good luck with your trip. Hope you leave the storm behind. 🙂
Safe journeys! Extraordinary photos!! My favorite time of day <3
Yep, me too, sunrises not so much, sunsets yes, they have the beauty of ending.

We know the sun is huge, but sometimes I forget how huge the oceans are~
Awesome pics. As always. I look very forward to some of that, but on the Pacific when my husband and I take our Alaskan cruise trip aboard the Princess cruise line to Alaska with a land and sea pkg. It is our 50th w. anniversary then and we are booked and board the ship on the 16th of July. Very excited. Safe travels to you, Cindy, enjoy, where was it this time, Portugal and Spain? Exciting place, I’m sure.
Oh your trip should be magical. You are going to such an incredibly beautiful place and the trip up is simply stunning. I am happy for you both and look forward to hearing about your time! Congratulations on your 50th!

Alison
Eager to catch up with you Alison and hear about your Mexican experience!
Great photos! (I heard it isn’t so easy to capture the sun on the horizon.) Here’s welcoming you home soon!
It’s the completely empty ocean that makes it tough for me. How to capture this is a big challenge, it is so wonderful.
You do amazing an amazing job with the photography. And I love your picture story-telling.
Beautiful photos.
Honored!

Spectacular! Breathtaking! Well captured Cindy. Your photography is amazing 👍
Your kindness is an honor. Thank you.
Love the stormy waves, Cindy.
They are hard for me because they are not surfing waves near shore, but huge ocean swells with no perspective, so thank you very much.
Beautifully eloquated, from the heart of the sea 🙂
Ahhh, you get it!
Unreal!
Hugs to you dear Cynthia. <3

Stunning Cindy.

Another exciting adventure – enjoy your cruise!
Seven days now crossing the Atlantic, with not one ship seen the whole time!
A watery desert. I don’t know if I could be out of sight of land. I think it would make me nervous! I hope the weather is good for your passage and not too stormy. <3
These are breathtaking, Cindy! Enjoy yourself! 🙂
Ahhh, thank you Linda and kiss the kitties for me! <3
A wonderful story to accompany the beautiful images.
So kind of you. Thank you!
I forget how large the ocean is. It’s really amazing. I hope you are having a lovely time, Cindy!
No ships seen now for seven days, just like The Ancient Mariner said!
Wow! Any dolphins?
We are still in The Sargasso Sea. It’s an ocean defined by the current surrounding it. In two days we will approach the current boundary off the coast of Africa where there is subtantial upwelling and generally a lot of whales, especially blue whales. This is our fourth crossing, our third over this part of the ocean. I saw a lot of whales including blues at the confluence before once! I am hoping to see some again this time. In the Sargasso itself, one sees little marine life, mistakenly leading people like Coleridge to refer to the sea as a desert. It is a very organically rich ocean, but the life is mostly below the water. I have seen pilot whales once in the middle of The Sargasso. The Sargasso fascinates me. It is named for living floating sargasso kelp that supports a whole ecosystem of minute marine life, including resting baby sea turtles.
Certainly is a gorgeous sunset. Thanks for sharing it Cindy! Enjoy the seascape and all the stunning sunsets along the way! <3
Mother Nature doesn’t disappoint does she! <3
Just wow – amazing pictures!
So appreciated Christopher!

<3 back at U!
Breathtaking photos.
Mille grazie!
Besos <3
Cindy, these pictures are breathtaking! I feel like I’m looking at a fantasy world. Gorgeous! Have fun. 😀 xx
Thank you Vashti. It is like another world, yet it is our world, with no people. It always reminds me of Coleridge and his ancient mariner, adrift on the empty sea. It is so beautiful.
So amazing Cindy!
Ahhh, I love my blogging friends!

Absolutely!
Stunning. Love all the colors, Cindy!
Mama Nature knows how to paint the sky! <3
All were astounding examples of forces in nature, Cindy. I don’t think I have seen such a living ocean or sky on fire, as these display! Wow! xo
The middle of The Sargasso Sea is one of the most lonely and yet most beautiful places on the planet. The sunsets rule the sea. Be well and cheers to you Robin~
That is fabulous. Green with envy here. Or am I seasick? Could be either.
My son got seasick in all the storms, but eventually overcame it, so you are right Brenda, it could be either! 😉 Cheers to you from sunny Portugal~ <3
I have a very excitable tummy. Storms would make me seasick, too.
Cheers to you from rainy New England. My neighbor who moved here from Georgia remarked sourly that today was like November. LOL
Thank you for these powerful and beautiful photos!
Thank you so much more for taking the time to look at them and appreciate them Charles and be well my friend~
Brilliant Cindy! You have such an adventure ahead!! Can’t wait to see all you sen dour way! xox
I can’t wait to share with you as we decamp to land. Please share your expertise. I am interested to learn from you!
Looking forward to all you pass on!! Are you going to Portugal first? We loved the Pasteis de Belem– a cafe that sells luscious cream tarts and has been open since 1837! by the Geronmios Monatery– I heard a story on that place on NPR last week and it made me wish I could sit down to a nice plate of them!! I’m sure you’ll find all kinds of wonderful things to sample! enjoy!
Well, I am walking up a storm, maybe I could have just one……….. 😉
Thanks for the tip. We’ll check it out!

beautiful sun set
Thank you. We live in a beautiful world.
Much belated thanks for taking and sharing your photographs. Type of vessel from which pictures taken? Mutinies, keel-hauling? Keep breathing deeply that great, fresh salty air and keep them thar pictures acomin’.
No keel-hauling, but it is definitely the law of the sea out here!
